Kidwell To Be Coach Effective Immediately

There hasn't been any leaks all year.

The only supposed leaks have been all rubbish.

Let's remember the current leak is two player agents.

It is a stretch to suggest that players put them up to it.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Mayer has been for the most part excellent so far. Have a little faith. He has earned some trust. He has earned more trust than Potter has.

There are no conclusive facts in the public domain that are sufficient for any of us to make this decision.

I don't know McCarry

I'm starting to think Blocker's comments on NRL 360 were prophetic

He said why has 8 months passed by and the NRL hadn't set up the new board

If this is true this probably wouldn't be happening if the new board was set up

And again if this isn't true , we ALL need to be letting Bulldog Ritchie know his article is going to come at a cost to him for destabilising our club

come to think of it when robbie was interviewed for some news story other night he said he wanted club to make decison 'one way or the other', think he knew potter was gone just by that statement.

What a waste of 3 paragraphs.

I disagree. It puts a good perspective on things in my opinion. Successful clubs make the tough decisions when needed. Brisbane with Griffin etc. Warriors are better for their change, as are St George. We want the right coach to lead us to a successful few years and if the club at this time feel he can't, with the review and input from other sources (CEO, players, assistant coaches) then I support it.

There is a fair difference between sacking your coach to sign Wayne Bennett than for a guy who has never coached before. There is also a fair difference between sacking your coach when you are on the bottom of the ladder to when you are running equal 4th, as we will be if we win today.

And if we lose…..Anyway the point is that sometimes hard decisions are made for the greater good of the club particularly by people closer to the club functions.

If this happens, the club is as stupid as they are broke.

I will not be spending any money on this pissant club until they get their house in order.

If Mick isnt the right choice and those in the club would know better than any if us, then Im glad the club is being decisive.

Decisive decision making is sometimes needed.

Given we havent performed that badly I would assume such a decision would mean a large disconnect between the coach and the playing group. A coach needs the support of the dressing room.

I'm a Potter fan but in reality we don't know what is going on and I do agree with this post.

I'd prefer the decision to be made quickly.

Still I'd like to see Potter retained.

This has completely sucked all the enthusiasm out of me for this season. Even if nothing happens and Potter gets 2 years it still won't change the fact that this is the most amateurishly run club in the NRL that can't keep anything in house and can't put personal differences aside to attain a goal.

You're there the work not make friends FFS. I work with people I don't like and we tolerate each other enough to get the job done right.

This is a joke. I'm no potter fan but the fact that the club is willing to lose on purpose to stop the extension triggering is pathetic.

CB I suggest the criticism of the playing group has nothing to do with liking or not liking Potter. Rather, its about his ability to coach and whether they feel that he is the right man for the job. His ability to commicate and educate are necessary skills of a coach. If he doesnt have those skills, the players are entitled to say so IMO.

I was counting the days (12) to the Townsville trip Couldn't wait to get up there and show those Cowboys up

Now I'm just thinking I've got to drive 11 hours each way to support a club that just crushes our belief every time we get our hopes that things are finally changing

Are we all just fools for supporting this club ?? They don't deserve our passion

That's all well and good, or is it all under the guise of poor communication etc. to remove someone who doesn't adhere to the ol' boys club mentality? The players aren't stupid, they won't come straight out and say "we don't like him and want him gone." Wouldn't surprise me if this were the case in the slightest.

I remember last week, when the announcer was calling out the team, they got to the coach's name and said 'Tigers are coached by Todd Payten and David Kidwell' and then after an awkward pause 'with Mick Potter as Head Coach'. It felt very weird.

Probably just a mistake reading the list, but felt off at a home game.

Mayer's silence is very telling IMO. If the article was a beat up, I would have expected to hear him come out and say so.

If it is true, then it's very disappointing. The way it has been handled, the leaks etc get in the way of the excitement I was feeling about the big game we have today.

From ABC News: Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer responded to the story on his Twitter account.

"Hard to read some of this stuff today. Can assure you all that the club will communicate when there is something to say. Gameday is focus," Mayer said.

Mayer's true colours are coming out

When it makes him look good he is all over the twitterverse telling all and sundry

When he might look slightly dodgy he is nowhere to be seen

Whats that saying about living by the sword and dying by the sword

Off indeed!
When you're getting shafted, it really does come from everywhere, huh.
It's going to be bleary eyed press conference for Potter today after waking up at 3am every morning dodging the knives.
Unfortunately, what used to be climbing the ladder is now climbing the pile of corpses you amass before you.

And that means exactly? Gameday is the focus. Hmmmm What are some factors affecting game day that might be of interest to a CEO that he could act upon for a positive outcome?

See a CEO who was showing a thousand percent support to his coach would put this

"Board meeting later this week , the reports that Mick has already been sacked are false The minute we know what is going on the fans will know "

How is Mayer showing any support to Potter with those comments and how does that look to the players ,sponsors or any potential signing for 2015 ??

And people can't understand why we can't sign name players :unamused:

Amateur hour at the Tigers again

Gee some people need to take a chill pill…the level of vitriol is embarrassing.

Peeps threatening to cut support...hilarious.

Personally i dont mind either way......if peeps that matter dont rate him lets move on,if they do well lets keep him.Im not fussed. We arent going that great thats its a lay down mezzaire.

Points to rememeber....this was from a telegraph article and there is not one quote.
