Exactly!!
- I'd almost bet… He's been told that he won't be in the top 25 and he'll need to move on if he wants to play first grade. Great Fella and is well loved at the club, But I can't imagine why it's come now....

**Then again, There's guys over at Parramatta like Tepai Moeroa, Kalepi Tanginoa and David Gower who'll be lucky to be in their top 25 next year....**

There's options out there...

Moeroa? That's surprising. I'd be enquiring about him if that's the case.

They like Moeroa at Parra and he'll definitely be in their 17, probably in the starting side. If he goes anywhere it will be to Union, which has been chasing him for a while. Tanginoa and Gower yeah they could be on the bubble of the top 25 (as they probably should be).

If we're on the lookout for a back rower in 2018 we need to be aiming higher than Gower and Tanginoa.

Gower would be an upgrade on at least 2 of our Bench Players from last year… And anyone who doesn't rate Tanginoa - Has never seen him play....
He'd almost round up our back row on his own.

Releasing Lovett to another Club for Cap issues makes no sense as others have pointed out…yet so many have run with an un substantiated report by a News network..

Releasing Lovett as he has fallen down the pecking order even for a bench spot given the coin he is supposedly on makes much more sense and given the talent we have coming through with much more upside..

Exactly!!

Ever heard of Kenny Edwards, Manu Mau, Beau Scott, Frank Pritchard etc… They've also bought Nathan Brown - An he's killing it... Probable starting lock for them.

Yes I'm aware of their roster. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like:

8\. Mannah
9\. De Gois
10\. Brown
11\. Ma'u
12\. Scott
13\. Moeroa

14\. Vave (prop)
15\. Matagi (prop)
16\. Pritchard (2nd row)
17\. K. Edwards (lock)

BA wants 80 minutes out of hooker so he can capitalise on his forward depth. I don't see Moeroa missing out because he's well regarded by the club and BA. Tanginoa, Gower, Alvaro and Terepo I see as the depth players.

7news are the only ones reporting this so far. I'll take it with a grain of salt until something official is announced.

There is a god. Sirro & Lovett plodders are on the way out well done. If only Rankin and Ballin would join them.

What's wrong with Ballin?

Probably necessary for this year but he is a plodder. Hopefully he turns back the clock but I think he will be a liability. We have had a few over recent years that shouldn't be in first grade Lovett, Sirro, Santi, Milone, Rankin.

He'd be a good pickup for Newcastle

Not a big loss for the WT…

Second row is a strength for Newcastle with Mitchell Barnett, Sione Mata'utia and Jamie Buhrer. He'd have better luck finding a home somewhere like Manly, Souths or even Melbourne if he's going to stay in the NRL.

I could see Melbourne picking him up - he is the type of forward Bellamy likes - cheap, given a set job and sticks to it.

Seems strange no other outlets reporting on this .

not to me. its kyle lovett, a fringe first grader. no one cares. the dogs did the same thing with lloyd perrett a couple of weeks ago and it was barely mentioned. the only reason this was even news was because Ayoub ordered one of his pansies to do another hatchet job on the tigers.

Hardly a fringe player in our side - he was in the first seventeen every week for the last two years.
All seems very odd - I will it believe it when the club confirms it.

While it hasn't been made official, given the clubs recent history of making clarifications when things are stated incorrectly in the media, I'd say they'd have watered down this if it was just a rumour. They're very image conscious

Makes you wonder if Lovett being managed by Ayoub has made him an obvious choice. Unless they are big name players, I wonder if they're making an effort to steer clear of players he manages.

How on earth are we over the cap?

Cos we're paying $750,000 dollars for Robbie to play for Souths.

You do realise Robbie staying would have put us more over the cap right?

I'm not saying we should have kept him, just explaining why the club is still struggling with the cap. Better to pay 750K for him to go away than pay upwards of a mil for him to play ISC. We cut our losses, but it's still a heavy loss.

Mitchell Moses will be next then.

Why? Moses isnt managed by Ayoub

Wow, I thought we were under the cap, even considering forking out a bit for Robbie this year….

Surely they would have had a look at the books again after Robbie left though??

moses is managed by issac moses, so is brooks.

if lovett goes i believe the only guys still at the club managed by ayoub will be nofa and idris (in the top squad anyway). teddy sacked him after the canberra debacle.

Was talking to an acquaintance from Manly-about two weeks ago, and his nickname now is( with his Manly mates) Casper, (The ghost that's here , but seldom seen.)

Never been a big fan of Lovett but,if true, it's bad timing for the young bloke with the season not far away and most spots filled at other clubs.
Can someone explain how any competent board (or whoever is in charge of looking after our salary cap) allows this to happen?

Salary cap what rubbish if Lovett is gone there is certainly a good reason considering he was Taylor's love child last season .There is a new footy dept team at the club now so maybe things have finally changed and the knives are out … there also could be a few showing major improvement in the off season hence Lovetts demise ,this could be a gee up anyway .
