Kyle Lovett gone?

Interesting rumour now doing the rounds.

Seems lovett was told to go and watched whilst cleaning out his locker.

Mightnt be salary cap related….

Interesting indeed

Must have been told on Friday as he was training with the team at Leichhardt on Thursday as per photo 19 from our official website.

I think we can cover with a few of the younger team members, even put Jamal in the second row and Heleta to centre.

It's a strange move as I thought we held off from signing ET because of the cap situation, so management would have known exactly where it was … would love to know exactly what happened.

My concern is the nrl have made a division to include Harry's TPAs in the cap. Hope to god that's not it, nor should it be as he is removed from the club now.

TIGERS WILL BE $1M BEHIND RIVALS

WESTS Tigers are set to be paying $1 million of their salary cap for stars to play against them this season. That’s roughly 15 per cent of their salary cap.

They have been secretly shopping players to rival clubs in a desperate bid to avoid an NRL fine for being almost $200,000 over this season’s salary cap.

After signing Jamal Idris late last year, a Tigers official contacted at least two rival clubs attempting to offload utility Kyle Lovett before the NRL season starts.

They have paid at least $800,000 to Manly and South Sydney to shift Robbie Farah (Rabbitohs) and Curtis Sironen (Sea Eagles).

They are now looking to pay Lovett or potentially another player up to $200,000 to line up for a rival.

The move will mean they go into the season against the likes of grand final heavyweights Cronulla and Melbourne with a roster of just $6 million.

While most clubs will compete with a full salary cap of players worth $7 million, the Tigers will be hamstrung by their decisions to drive Farah and Sironen — and now a third player — from the club.

NSW hooker Farah will play for the Rabbitohs after a long-running feud with Tigers coach Jason Taylor drove him from the club in what proved an expensive move.

The Tigers are paying the lion’s share of Farah’s $1 million-plus contract this year.

South Sydney have scored a player who has captained NSW for the price of a fringe first-grader.

The Tigers have coaxed former Sharks lower-grader Matt McIlwrick to the club as a potential replacement for former captain Farah.

Recruiting Idris was their only other off-season market move.

I guess the club will release something tomorrow, probably along the lines of" we thank Kyle for his efforts over the past few years and wish him all the best in the future"…That tells us nothing of what really has happened.

Where is our salary cap going? We must be paying massive overs to some players. I am not sure whether to blame the old management that signed these contracts, or the current mob that keep signing players when they know that they are over the cap.
The problem is that you cannot force contracted players out, you need to find someone willing to take them at a decent amount. Very hard to find cap room in NRL clubs this time of the year.

I don't think you can blame current management, we've signed one bargain basement player this year and a second tier player. Last year was similar. We've moved on a tonne of players

Imagine how bad it would be if they hadn't moved on farah and siro!

Mayer has left a massive mess…

He's not a bargain basement player if you can't afford him We're expecting loyalty from our big four and we treat one of our best ever players appalling and now jettison a good solid younger player at this late stage. Do you not believe other players in the roster would not be taking note of what is happening?

Taylor Seumanufagai Sue Grant Ballin Lawrence Naiqama Rankin Lovett Griffin Edwards Hunt Littlejohn Chee-Kam McIllwrick Idris …all signed under current management..

Juniors retained under current admin.. Liddle Marsters Heleta Paseka B. Sironen Jacobs..

That's 22 players in the NRL extended squad signed by current admin leaving out some of the other fringe ISP players and those on 2nd tier or part-time contracts...

We are obviously still hamstrung by previous deals and the great penchant for backened deals going back as far as Humpty/Sheens administration continued through Mayer's time at the helm...

We have in the past paid too much for our fringe players and our young guns based on potential which I believe has been addressed by the current administration..

Having said that...I don't take much stock in Daily Tele articles and take them with a grain of salt....but the always someone elses fault is starting to wear a little thin..

Very hard to make judgment without knowing the facts .For all we know a tpa might have fallen through putting pressure on our cap or it might be a lot more sinister.let's wait for some hard facts before throwing mud..

I find it ironic that the clubs with the most threadbare playing rosters also seem to be the ones that are in salary cap trouble.

In recent times the club has been so quick to respond to any negative press. The fact that there has been no response so far tells me there is more to the situation. Let's hope tigers PR team work on Sundays and tells us what's going on.

If we let Brooks go that should help but not maybe until mid or late year? If he performs miracles at another club we can't complain because we could not get that out of him.

The back ended contracts started with Noyce (remember Fulton being punted to UK).However the current administration has allowed the signings for 2017 so the "blame others" principle can hardly be used anymore.I am so over the fact that nobody ever seems to be accountable in our club. The club hasnt even denied or confirmed the reports yet.You would think if it was nonsense someone would have said something.
I will always follow my team but am so fed up with imposters at the club.As supporters we have no rights but surely we deserve better,
rant over

Not to mention Lawrence allowing a big 2017 salary cut as part of his extension. I still though don't understand how WT could sign and/or register the recent contracts, as all previous cap issues should have well and truly been known by now.

So you only released this info AFTER it came out in the press

Good work Paws

I said this last year when are current administration responsible for the decision they make they have signed most of the roster I was shot down for saying it

So say Mayer over payed contacts for Moses and Brooks this year say each player is overs at 150K each where is the rest of the cap

You could say Teddy is under payed big time say 200K

What have the board and CEO done with the cap ?

When does the current mob take the responsibility for decisions they make ?
