Kyle Lovett gone?

So many would be surprised at the wide use of the white stuff throughout the NRL players .
The bad thing for Lovett is he is easily replaceable and a young stupid mistake might be the end of his opportunity that he got in playing NRL , with many thinking his already overachieved by playing 1 NRL game.

This will be really interesting what our Club does with this matter as it has already said " As an Organisation we don't condone this " so really if found Guilty by the Courts you would think his Contract will be determinated by the Club especially if we are supposedly having Salary Cap issues.

At the same token i bet my bottom dollar if this happened to a player like Tedesco ? No way he would get the sack no matter if found Guilty.
This could be the end for Lovett but i would give him a 2nd chance and make him visit some Patients that are going through Drug Rehab….will wake up to himself with some of the stories of some hardship that some of these people have gone through and make him realise just how fortunate he is to be an NRL player.

Is it that easy to get rid of a drug habit?

I don't really care what Lovett has done to go to court…my main issue is that about 2/3weeks ago he was told to clear his locker....but the club has only found out about the court appearance yesterday....so is it a salary cap issue or a court issue that he was told to go..you see this is why many don't want to renew the memberships at times because we are treated like mushrooms....kept in the dark and fed bs ....just remember every thread on here last year people referred to Lovett as JTs golden boy...why the sudden change.......

Here's what I reckon....I mentioned on here how Sirro and Lovett were joined at the hip when I saw them at a members night at Campbo....Sirro off to Manly and Lovett is on his own,my bet is his next move will be a deal with Manly.....let's see how wrong Iam......just my opinion but I will stick with it.......

Many on social media knew three or four days before yesterday that a Kyle Lovett had to attend Downing Centre court for something on Feb 1st…. It's not such a stretch to think the club didn't... Particularly with him not being named initially to be at the member's day yesterday, then a backflip of sorts. Something doesn't add up.

I don't think his alleged drug use tells a lot about him as a person, it is very common rightly or wrongly... but his deception and dishonesty in failing to own up to his mistake does say a bit imo

By the way, woodsie, out captain swore at training the other day, just thought you might like to know.

My guess is the club knew, but had heard through back channels, Kyle had not told them, so they were waiting for him to do so. Who knows maybe he denied it. Read the media release, it states "Wests Tigers club officials were only made aware of the matter by Lovett today" it doesn't say they didn't know. The full situation maybe; Wests Tigers club officials were knew of a possible incident involving Kyle, but were only made aware of the matter by Lovett today.

Not sure Newtown….some drugs would be easier than others I guess.
Have no idea if Lovett has a problem with this Drug or not?
He needs to realise just how privileged he is earning a living doing what he does.

I'm a bit confused with this part..if he was asked to clear his locker why was he training with the squad as late as last Thursday…?

Maybe it was just a bit messy… :unamused:

Sherlock Holmes could not get to the bottom of what has transpired and in which order. The one telling thing which seems to be constant is that he didnt disclose to the club until days/weeks later.
I could be wrong but i believe that disclosure to your club is in all contracts these days.If that is so then he is standing in a lot of quicksand.

It's a bold statement from the club if he did in fact tell the club, for them to then come out and say that Lovett only told yesterday would lead to many problems. Especially when you consider who he is managed by, that statement would be exactly what Ayoub would be looking for to belt the club.

The club knew, but not from Lovett. They may have told him he was no longer wanted, but used the salary cap excuse as a chance to not let on to him that they knew.

The locker thing was just a rumour. I'm not sure that actually happened…
As for the club not knowing, I think some forumers might be right that they may have had an inkling about it if they are reading this forum , but you aren't going to have anything concrete until the bloke or police tell you directly.

We certainly didn't know for sure if it was the same Kyle Lovett in the court listings and the club would have been even more dismissive if they hadn't heard anything from Kyle or ayoub.

It is Sunday, so I guess you can listen to my sermon now. You say you don't care what he has done, but then claim you are being kept in the dark about it and seem pretty upset about it. So which is it? Do you care or not? if you don't care your entire post was a waste of time.

The guy has been caught with drugs. Drugs are illegal. He should cop any punishment on the chin including losing his job as a player. That's what would have to the regular working person. Bullshit excuse oh he is young and has made a mistake. Choosing to take drugs is a serious problem in this world. I can't believe how common it is now. I do not feel sorry for him or anyone who is caught with drugs or dies from drugs. They have chosen to use these knowing that they are harmful and illegal. Lovett - get out of our club.

There will be two breaches of contract 1) Drug Possession
2) Nondisclosure of a criminal offence. He will be sacked. If it was Teddy it would only be a warning and fine.

Yes James tedeseco would fall under the well defined principle of law I am James Tedesco defence.

So he should. I cant really see what Lovett did as being athat big of a deal. Barba beat up his missus and has been done for cocaine twice and that slimy little flog is still set to run around in the NRL again this season, why shouldn't Lovett be shown some leniency? You could rattle off a dozen vermin that have played in the NRL recently for far worse transgressions eg Barba, Packer, Wicks, Auvuaa, Lui, Gallen, Ferguson…......depends on who you are and who you play for i guess.
If WT want to keep Lovett then I don't see why he shouldn't be given a slap on the wrist and that should be the end of the matter. Just weasel out of it, Broncos-style. They are the masters of it.

Will the Nrl impose a band if lovette found guilty. If they do and impose a 1 year band . What would happen to the cap in that case. They'd have to sack him.

I hope that the band is someone like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Deep Purple a really good band.

Lovett might've had swords in his locker . That would explain the request to clear it out .

Believe me I do not lead a righteous life, completely the opposite actually. You stated that the club not releasing a statement about what had happened was treating you like a mushroom and was a reason for people not renewing memberships. I'm saying that the club in no way has to provide that kind of information to the public. If the club decided to use the salary cap excuse as a way of moving Kyle on without publicising his misbehaviour than that is up to them. It happens all the time in high profile jobs, people retiring for family or health reasons. Maybe they were trying to look after a young man who had just screwed up his life, what is wrong with that? The only thing I was questioning was why do you feel you have a right to know exactly why he was being moved on, if he is at all.8
