What is that famous saying "Once you feel you finally have enough props , go buy another one "

Jack Gibson said something similar in the 1970's,he always said the first thing he did when joining a Club was to bolster the Packs in in First and Reserve Grades, obviously can't do that these days with the salary Cap.

I thought it was Bullfrog Moore

yes I have made mistakes and had to where the fall out from it. drugs is the worst of the lot, I have never taken anything nor have I ever smoked drugs or fags. but its not that iam taking the high road here, I think it is wrong on so many fronts that drug use is blown under carpet with a six week or 12 week ban. if they want to have the game as a model for the kids coming next then u make a statement or u let them run wild.

I think that's where we differ. For me, drugs shouldn't be bundled together. Some aren't 'the worst of the lot' . Some are horrendous and some are not so bad. Marijuana I believe is actually better than alcohol or cannibis for society, it even is starting to show some health benefits. Cocaine is middle of the road. Ice is the worst.

Now, while its wrong, I think when you are talking role model status, youve got a bunch of guys in the game who have beaten their wives. Including some very notable names. Drugs are usually only self inflicted, but when you hurt someone else, like a Robert lui, it's far, far worse in my books.

But really, Kyle was wrong. Especially being to scared to report it to the club. Is it worth kicking him out, ruining a young guys life and throwing the club into turmoil? I don't think so. Is it worth him getting a harsh punishment and a final warning? Most definitely. Cut his pay, put him on suspension and send him around to every school for the first half of the year on an anti drugs campaign for the NRL. Far more effective than the boot.

You nailed it hammertime .

It's funny some have admitted that if it was a Teddy or a Moses caught with coke that a Sackable offence shouldn't apply to them but yes to Lovett….so the Law apply to some but not others yeah whatever :unamused: .

The other question is how would his team mates react knowing the club only sacked him to save their own bacon when it comes to cap issues.

Yes it may be an easy out but would the chances of the big 4 (or 3) re-signing be hurt?

I wouldn't mind the club letting him go but i don't think this is a sackable offence and i don't think the club should use it as one.

If other recent departures haven't put them off, then I don't think this will.

Ah I missed something, marijuana is the drug form of cannabis? Otherwise cannabis the plant is just fine if you are making rope or clothing.

Yep, same thing mate. It's actually been shown to help with Parkinson's and other health issues.. some pretty amazing YouTube videos to look up. Interesting how it was made illegal too, good vid under Adam ruins everything series on YouTube.

But anyway, I digress from Lovett. Hopefully the club does the smart thing. Will be a good test for management.

He knows it's the same thing he was talking about the part where you said "Marijuana I believe is actually better than…cannabis for society"...

It does plenty of bad things to people when it's abused as well.

Ah. Didn't see that. Typo. Meant tobacco.

I did a thesis on it at uni. Unfortunately cannabis has fairly significant side effects no matter how you take it, that's most of the reason why it's illegal, but when they isolate the THC compound for trials in aerosols or vaporisation (to remove the toxicity of the leaves), the results aren't overly compelling.

But if you are in severe pain, on chemo, disabled or terminal, why not, smoke all the dope you want in your house, doesn't hurt anyone else and what do you have to lose.

Yeah but people also need to consider that Lovett and JT allegedly had a heated arugement too.. So dont see him playing first grade any time soon

Hadn't heard about this argument - where's that come from?

Is this why JT has a black eye and cut above the eye ,looked fresh in shots leaving the airport last night :astonished:

The others got paid in full and found new clubs. For the most part, to enable this new generation and build a stronger team. I think the 4 will see that.

It's different when you are talking about kicking a guy out completely

Your probably right but, it's amazing how quickly people will distance them selves from a situation as well.

From reports the 4 are unhappy with the Suli signing anyway.

James Hooper ..Foxsports..

We had this problem some years ago when the boys club were running the show , can't let it happen again, but why they would be unhappy about Sulis signing is beyond me

Hard to believe any sports journo, but if it is the case, than they should pull their heads in and worry about their own contracts and not some kid who has got himself a good deal. Lets face it I guess there were plenty of players pissed off when they read our six and seven were being paid mega bucks when they still had L plates and had not even got there P's.

Although as I said very hard to believe a sports journo, they usually twist or edit a conversation to get a headline

Blah blah blah
i thought the big four were gonna leave if the club got rid of Farah!?!?
James Hooper is up there with Weedler and the sloth

As long as it doesn't take away from the players earnings, which seems highly unlikely, why would they care what another player is on?

For a moment there I thought that the new board, football operations managers and coaching staff made the decisions regarding who we buy and pay to play for us…...

Have the big four got a special office to meet in and discuss the desicions of the admin.??

Geez some crap gets tossed around these days....why would the four be unhappy with this desicion and what do they know that others don't...??? Suli obviously has a fair bit of ability and the keen judges at the club have decided to give him a contract...Brooks was given big money because of his ability and talent and after his debut...he really hasn't been a world beater yet but is given a chance,so why shouldn't Suli be given the same chance???

The big four unhappy..please...!!!!!!!

The reports of them being unhappy would have been leaked by their manager IMO, it will help their manager with negotiations. It may not generate more money from the club but it may scare the club off from making a low ball offer.

If all we read was "the boys can't wait to sign with the tigers and get on with the new season" then the offer from the club maybe sub par. If there is constant speculation on their future the club has to do its best to pay them accordingly which helps their manager with negotiations.

After all Teddy did just recently say we are close to a deal and appeared on the surface to be genuine about resigning.his manager was probably not happy with that and found a reason in Suli's signing to send a bit of a scare out there.

Simple way to fix all this angst about what people get paid is to not tell anybody but the player, his manger, the NRL and senior club officials. All these paper reports of who is getting what just gets peoples emotions heated up. Geez I don't want people knowing what I get paid. Some things just need to be kept quiet.

Yeah i'm sure our top players are bitterly disappointed that the club has re-signed our most promising junior, who might one day help make them all look better by providing a decent option out wide. lol

Moreover, I'm sure they're annoyed they've signed a promising junior in a position none of them are competing for…
