Lachlan Galvin #277 *Megathread*

Exactly my view. I just cannot see how Api over the next 18mths will be a 80min week to week hooker. At some point his minutes will drop and so will his effectiveness. TDS would absolutely get a heap of playing time and will end up with more than his fair share of starting.

The other thing is that Hookers in today’s game just don’t play consistently for 10yrs let alone for 80mins a game now. So TDS have a very long career infront and shouldn’t be focused on rushing forward.

I know first hand how the Storm have managed Grant, Pezet and Sua - it’s 100% focused on longer term not short term. All these players will make money & will get a heap of games. It’s about keeping miles in the legs, change in body shape, getting the body use to the larger contact (which takes a few years) and building knowledge from those around them.
The fact that they are a successful club that is virtually guaranteed to, and the expectation of the vast majority of people is that they will be playing finals football just about every year.

This makes it easier for young up and coming players to be patient because they know that their turn will most likely come and that they will almost certainly enjoy some sort of success while they are there.

If and when these players are ready to move on they will most likely enjoy a fairy healthy pay day due to the success they have had playing in a successful team in which even an average player looks good thanks to the system and the players they have had around them.

So who plays 6 next week with Galvin gone, Latu injured and Bud at Souths?

AD didn’t work. Naden played like an immortal when he played 6 in NSW Cup last year. Maybe him but we don’t have many options.
It took them 60 minutes to figure it out in a game where everything was against us.

Id be going with Luai and Douhei in the halves again...

I think a few ppl will be surprised that it can work

Doueihi was pretty ordinary against Parra but even with an improved performance we don’t have anyone else who can defend in the centres so we’re weakening 2 positions by moving him.

Same with Api

Heard today he doesn’t want to return to training. It came from Chammas so take it or leave it.
Isn’t Chammas a Moses mouthpiece ( I believe they went to school together ) so I’d say correct. And bedsides, how could a 19 yo cope with what he’d cop in going back.
I don’t like this outcome but just cut him loose.

Thanks flippedy no I was ok I'm out of taree, was isolated no power basically only lost a fridge full of stuff, so many are in such a bad way
Good to hear you’re ok Spacecub. Tragic for so many up there. We’ve had some local flooding here on the Central Coast, certain areas nearer to Tuggerah Lake the worst hit as always, but nothing like up on the Mid Coast. Hoping the recovery will go well, but it’s never easy.

Yeah I guess it also depends on the more senior members of the team and the maturity (and quality) of the young blokes your bringing up.

For example - Bradley Clyde had the maturity of a seasoned 28 year old when he debuted 👍
Very different time - young men were men in those days…
These days they’re kids who live at home and play video games as long as they can.

This AI version on DT/Code Sports of "future" Galvin as a hard-man in a Bulldogs jersey is beyond ludicrous!

The video with Read - Riccio and Carayannis (giggling like little a schoolboy who farted) is even worse!

The last two NRL quality players we 'lost' to supposed greener pastures at the Bulldogs were Woods and Kautoga...

Woods wanted to play with Klem - but was released from the Bulldogs after just 3 wins from 14 games - and NEVER played for NSW or Australia again (having played 14 straight Origin games over 5 seasons while at the Tigers)!! He went on to become an unwanted journeyman at Cronulla - Manly & St George....

Awesome management by Isaac Moses that ultimately undermined his clients legacy- and completely halted his rep football career - when he had signed as an incumbent NSW & Test prop!

Kautoga wanted to learn off his idol Kikau - played 2 games and got flicked to Parra!
He is just typical of the human collateral damage from any NRL squad managed by Gould...

Galvin is in nappies - and will likely leave the Bulldogs while still in nappies but just more shit on and in them!!

No mate. You said the club stated emphatically that Galvin would see out his contract, which they did. Richo even threatened legal action if other clubs approached him. And now he might not even see out 25. Sugarcoat it if you have to, but they have backtracked.
Everything you said above is true. Richo did say all of that -but the way it’s played out is untenable now he’s got a legal case against us for bullying. He’s got most players in the side not wanting to play with him. unfortunately he’s a rotten apple and I think the Club Has made the right decision. Get rid of him and ego and his ridiculous family and manager- let some other Club have the problem. I certainly don’t want him here, but it’s a pity it’s panned out this way hopefully we can move on from this. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see.

Do you think the board took the decision off Richo ?

I’d almost be looking to trade Bula for a fullback of similar quality and be done with i-sack for ever. And I like Bula. Just his manager is an oxygen thief.
