OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

from todays smh

Galvin vehemently denied reports he told teammates he couldn’t wait to leave the club after a heavy loss to the Dragons.

“Absolute lie,” he said. “I would never do that to any of my teammates or Benji [Marshall, coach] or any of the coaching staff. I would never disrespect them like that.
“I would never walk around the sheds yelling out I want to quit. It’s all BS.”

——

So where did Buzz get the story from ? surely he did due diligence on it ?

pretty damaging slurring an 18yo’s character if it’s all been a lie.

Honestly the club should go after Buzz for that outright lie.

Nice words from Luai to Galvin during their conversation. He is going to be a fantastic buy.

Should have knocked the story about the screaming and carry on after the game on the head immediately if there was no truth to it and threatened with legal action and demanded an immediate public retraction.

Shame we don't know any good lawyers, and while I think of it, and assuming that the screaming fit after the game didn't happen, shouldn't his so call manager be looking after his client going in to bat for him to protect his good name after it was being run down in the media.

Rather than do that Moses was busy agitating for a release with dollar signs in his eyes, and one could argue that the only one he was looking after was himself.

Not sure if we will ever know the real story but I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

The NRL needs to pull the grubs into line and say you need to con firm before print these type stories , Slander comes to mind as if untrue it makes the kid look like a low grub regarding the shed story , Buzz needs to pull his head in , feels like he is writing any shit before he is retired

Freedom of the press. The NRL have no grounds to tell them what they can or can’t write. The only solution is not read the newspapers or watch the shows. But people won’t do that.

Yeah...i dont know why this was allowed to run for a week, youd think hed wanna come out and quash it all straight away
Not sure how this works , (a player wanting to respond directly to media)
I guess hed have to get the OK from Benji or Richo.

I dont buy it

Id say theyve waited to see how things panned out

Anyway I hope he can just play footy now
The two debutatnts yesteraday went well...it could all turn out positive eventually but its becoming easier to see how the club need to tread carefully when it comes to some players they wanna keep, those repped by certain agents...its a tricky balancing act

Whether the after match stuff happened or not, there's no doubt he agitated for a release. He says in the article if he was at Penrith he'd be 'winning a lot more and on top of the world' and then repeats what others have said about how despite that he now realises he's learning a lot from this situation and he name drops what Andrew johns says about being one to turn the club around and says 'its cool to think...I can be that kid to change this club around' and 'I could be one of the few to change this club around'.

He seems like a glory hog who wants to be winning now. He reads and cares too much about the media and he sounds like a fickle bandwagon roosters fan.

His attitude is the exact opposite of the sort of player who is going to change things: someone looking around desperately for external validation, wanting immediate gratification, have no ability to interpret things himself, immediately disillusioned with current difficulties, and with no loyalty or selflessness. Everything in what he says is about his own personal satisfaction and achievement. And now, due to a chorus of opinion against his agitating for a release, he turns around and changes his stance.

Can we play mason at 5/8 instead for a while at least? Put Galvin at centre and see if he can manage playing first grade without being a sook about it.

Ahhh the attitude of some of our young players over the last 10 years is so disappointing.

This is a very good take on the situation.
I really hope Fainu works out.

I hear you mate just some: of the crap they can produce is nasty , even birder line insulting , I get freedom of speak but they stoop pretty low , Maybe we can start breaking a few stories and get traction from the forum , start with
Wests TIgers clean out continues with 4 more names added to the list of departures at season end But it’s not all doom and gloom with the TIgers set to sign Parramatta forward Reagan Campbell Gillard , in a shock move Gillard was poached By Benji after the Tigers beat Parra again , Gillard said I need to hook up with a team on the rise and that’s the tigers and Benjis boys , 😁
