So to be clear, your opinion is that when the defensive side is backtracking and a pivot takes the ball to the line, it's the pivots responsibility to ensure all his players are aware the defence is on the back foot? Aka they don't have eyes of their own and have to be instructed to get up?

I watched that piece of play to get context as you provided zero.
The play before that, he called for the ball, turned to his outside men and said something and then for some unknown reason, TDS went to the right and gave it to Api for a hit up. This is how they ended up so far behind.
Some other play was then called which no one was ready for and I say that as Sezer and Api both had words with him after he kicked it into touch.

It’s not the case. I’ve praised his play on many occasions. I said the other night he had a really good first half and was impressed with not only his play in those tries but also with him continuing to throw those plays at them until they succeeded. I was disappointed with his second half though as he was invisible when we needed to shut them out. Our failure to drive home our advantage afforded them the opportunity to almost steal the win.
Guess which part people focus on?

Galvin is so young and when he puts on some muscle he will be a real handful. He’s already getting hands free for offloads and he’s a kid.
I tend to agree, Benji was a freak at his best but could be inconsistent. Galvin might not be as flashy but has the potential to be a future NSW and Kangaroos legend. Let’s hope he gets there with the Tigers.

I’m wary of Galvin next season( second year syndrome). I rightly identified that was a concern with Bula this year and think it’s proven correct.
I believe it’s real and will happen again, reduced space and more intense tackling on him etc.
It may mean other clubs become less interested which should be positive for us.

No he won't

I can only think of one player that brought a team to the finals and that's Jarryd Hayne with Parra in 2009. (from memory). You still had plenty of good players in that side too.

Even Benji did not carry the tigers to the finals in 2005.

Galvin may be the right guy to play 5/8 for us and get us out of 16/17 into 8/9th. He seems like a good player, but not an Andrew Johns or even the potential of Moses/Brooks/Teddy.

Finals now seem to be teams where the starting 13 are made of a minimum of Good players, many great/excellent players sprinkled between them.

Galvin is good, he is certainly no Andrew Johns or Greg Ingles.

If after more than 20 rounds it's still a suprise to the outside backs that Galvin is going to take the line on and create space, then they aren't using their brains or they aren't at NRL standard.

The job of outside backs is to be there when the halves create space and overlaps.

Could you imagine blaming the likes of Cleary, Johns and Langer for creating space for the outside backs? Time to swallow your Galvin pill mate and start seeing him for the talent he is.

There's obviously little structure and no control, no one calling the shots... It's clear at times during games he plays it by ear and doesn't know what he's doing until he does it... How do his backs know what's going on?

Agree… but that was 1 yr… and he debuted in 2003.

Anyway my point is consistency over a long period.

Benji 2005 was amazing!!! Better than galvin for sure… but I believe over a 10 year career galvin will win more accolades and be more consistent than Benji

People get me wrong about my thoughts on Galvin.
Out of all the young guns, he is the one that I hope has a 15+ year career with us. I’ve said before, I believe he will make a world class lock and the sooner he transitions, the sooner his journey begins towards a probable Kangaroo jersey.
As a 5/8th? I’m not so convinced. There have been moments of real poise and class this year but you have to realise he is running the attack. He touches the ball way more than his halves partners….any of them. When you see how disjointed that attack has been for the majority of the year, questions appear. Obviously his career can’t be judged on his first handful of games, but he needs help and I don’t think leaving him in first grade all year has really provided that.
