OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Haha omg , wow you guys are so predictable . You Turned on Brooks . You turned on AD , and now you’re turning on Galvin after 1 game . “What have you done for me lately Lachie !!!!! “
The fickleness is beyond me .
The issue with Galvin over calling is TDS gave it to him every time . That shits not going to happen with api . Last year he repeatedly went away from Galvin and was in his ear about picking
his moments .
Just relax . A lot to work on . We dropped off a lot of tackles and couldn’t control the chaos and second phase around Ponga and best . But we only leaked 10 points .

Inevitably where it's gonna go.
Dunno how we do this without an injury, but Wld luv to take a peak at late and Luai together.
Not sure whether Benji has the answers...which is where Richo comes into play
Gee, I think that has to be a coaches call, not the CEO. And, at this stage, I don’t think Galvin will be playing anywhere but 6, perhaps with Latu on the bench.

For me he should not be the main half with the ball like tonight as he is just not ready for that.
Laui needed to demand the ball more and have the last tackle kicks as all Galvin does is grubber and Knights knew it..
I will say it as no one else will, but he is overrated IMO for a guy who has only played 1 year..
He is a great talent no doubt, but I would not be offering him the $800-1mil like people are saying. (maybe in a few years once he proves himself)

Can we all get over the medias swollen lips and stop pretending this guy has the goods for the halves, backrow is his future and hopefully sooner rather than later. Latu and Jerry combo would have gotten the team home tonight.
He’s clearly a Brad Fittler , Clyde , Jason smith type lock moving forward . Let him finish the year out at 6 unless latu kicks arse and demands a spot in nrl , playing KOE.
We will be fine with Bula and Api .
We lacked a little deception around the ruck , and I thought their markers really worked hard all game , which limited the space in the edges.
I think Bula will help heaps with this .

Agree.."at this stage "is the pertinent phrase.
But when we lose a few more winnable games like tonite, things change.
Then we have unwinnable games..
I'm unconvinced Benji has the capability to call these decisions and that's where Richo steps in.He also has to manage Galvin's future vs competitive $$ offers so its way out of Benjis pay grade
Huge challenge

Geez Galvin was atrocious, easily the worst on the field.

Whoever told him to keep kicking grubbers down the left edge in attack needs to get punted that was disgusting. Not sure why Luai just kept giving him the ball???

Surely by the 3rd or 4th failed attempt Luai takes over kicking duties, he has a world class short kicking game.

I dunno we clearly are a better outfit this year, rusty and need time to gel a lot of signings. We won't get the spoon but we're def not making the 8 unless a lot of things change.

Really missed Api tonight. Bula too, we have absolutely no speed without Bula and it was telling watching Sharpe and Ponga cut through us and our chasers couldn't keep up at all.

All in all, could be worse at least we aren't Rooster fans! (although at least they make finals consistently and went back2back not long ago).

Hopefully Gus Gould’s raging boner over Gal might have softened a bit last night …

You can see what Benji is trying to do. He wants his halves playing both sides and with Galvin being so fit, he is more than capable of covering the km's needed to achieve this. However, I think we need to go through a process to get to this point. We can't have a repeat of last night where both halves just wanted to play left. We need to start the season with Galvin having a simple role on the right, Luai mostly on the left but with much more freedom to play both sides, and Jack Bird/ Latu Fainu sharing the link man lock role in the middle. Get the simple things flowing first, then expand our thinking to Galvin playing both sides.

He reminds me a lot of Scott Hill. I think he still has quite a few years at 5/8 left in him

The main thing he needs to learn is when to time himself into a game,he does not need to be the "go to man" every set we have or make the "hero play" when he get's the ball.He just needs to blend into the position and let others do their work as well,at the moment he is jarring the attack by trying to do too much.

The Galvin/Luai thing was messy...as was(unrelated) the 50 missed tackles. Some of our guys are serial repeat offenders, and we keep choosing them whilst keeping a fit forward out of the game
From Benjis press conference where he refused to answer the question as to why we lost....Im underwhelmed in that he was unwilling or unable to provide a constructive response .Just confirmed my worst fears tbh.
Shld have blamed the refs in that we only got 90% of the 50/50 calls!
.Now John Morris, the defensive coach who presided over leaking more points than any other team last year AND ,is still there...hey presto..50 missed tackles
.A complete surprise of course...jeez
And the rest of the coaching staff are buddies and ex team mates of .Benji ,who in this regard is his own worst enemy
I thought we mite be mid table pre season...early days.but think Im gonna have a spoon setting for four!!!
Only game one I know,but..

@Kaito

Tell em your theory

Not sure why Luai just kept giving him the ball???

I genuinely think he did it on purpose.

To show him he's not 'the man', I discussed this with Dempsey earlier on - luai gave him the option & Lachlan took the wrong ones, especially in red zone. Everyone is in his head. Keen to see how Latu goes this afternoon but give it a few weeks for them to build.

I don't think Galvin has the guile & speed & aggressiveness that Latu possesses. His attitude sucks too, came through a schoolboy & state systems winning everything & hearing how he's the best. His future is at lock & Latu 6.

I'm happy to give him a few more weeks though, Benji won't hesitate to drop him like other coaches feared to do with Brooks.

If he plays the same the next two weeks and Latu kills it I hope he is dropped. Needs to develop his game in cup.

But can you imagine the noise when this happens. He'll be asking for a release straight away, but if that's his attitude he can stay in Cup.

Hopefully big turnaround next week.

The 3rd and 4th tackle grubbers without a result were killers.

It's like he realised he had run out of space and just went for the kick anyway.

Want to see him owning the right and only chiming in on the left sparingly to keep the defence guessing.
Doueihi is useful at those short kicks for in goal didn't see him get an opportunity for some variation to surprise the opposition out wide.
