OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Surely it's the transfer fee? Perhaps a clause saying he can't play against us? Can't think of much else...maybe just a throwaway line alluding to the back and forth nature of the paperwork.

Honestly, even if we didn't get the transfer fee, it wouldn't make a difference to our season. For us it's about filling roster spots before June 30. I think with Galvin gone, we sit at 25/30? Is that right or is it 26/30?

Either way, 4 or 5 players missing from your top 30 is a lot of depth you can't pick from.
I think we currently have 28 players, with dipshit gone we now have 27. Pretty dumb to play 2-3 short for a season. Id expect Richo to have a few names lined up ready to sign.

As it stands with Galvin gone -
2025- 27 players

2026 - 22 players
losses - Doohey/Faats/Feledy/Matamua/Nadan/Shit Stains/Tumeth
gains - Dud Sullivan/Makasini

Doohey and Stains would be the only ones Id offer basics to play reggies as back up.

We have a number of signings (6+) to be announced in the coming months for 2026.

I'd prefer Galvin to leave rather than have him on a 5 year million dollar contract before he's proven anything. But he does have incredible potential. Like most on here I'm not sure his future is in the halves, but he also doesn't have the strength or defense for the forwards yet.

I'm excited by the prospect of Latu, it was always uncertain who was the better prospect.

I just think the club didn't handle it well. It doesn't look like a victory for us and I feel the club could have gotten more out of the situation if it had been more proactive. They probably should have had an idea by last offseason what was going to happen and we could have used that time to negotiate with other clubs and give Latu the offseason to work on his craft.

Richo is our best ever administrator, but this was not well done by him.

As it is, losing Galvin only really hurts us in being outmaneuvered and looking weak once again. On field performance can hopefully be matched by fainu, Galvin's form wasn't outstanding last year and got worse this year. He needs a consistent kicking game and more organisational awareness to go with his off the cuff brilliance, which we've only seen bits of. He's a proper footballer, but at the moment he's a very incomplete one.

Unfortunately, I tend to believe, like Moses, he'll develop better elsewhere. I hope I'm wrong and I don't wish him the best.

Now I’m just analysing his decision to go to the Dogs. We offered the most money, the Parra , then the Dogs so based on what we know he believes that Ciraldo has the most to offer him in his career development.
I also read that Mahoney possibly on the way out, is that so TDS can follow Galvin to the Dogs ?
That all seems to make sense, especially that Galvins school coach is a Ciraldo assistant. All the Lego pieces come together.

Thanks for that...I've been a bit confused about our roster position this year.

Money to spend and spots available for this year and next...gotta make it count.

if people dont believe Isaac moses is hell bent on destroying the Tigers .. here's just 3 times he has now screwed us by telling the player he has to fake reasons why he wants out:

Mitchel Moses to Parra
Ryan Matterson to Parra
Lachie Gavin to Dogs

are there anymore .. ??

I dont know what all the armchair CEOs think he could have done. Richo is no bullshit, has been since his Gateshead days. Richo offered a very unproven talent a zillion dollars and they were not even wanted to be heard. The disrespect from that alone should have got him splinters on his ass as Richo kicked him out the door. The guy, his dad and his manager are obviously toxic around the club, the players immediately came out and told the ego prick they didnt want to play with him. They pulled the soft as shit bully card legal action. Richo was like 'see ya dickhead'. Bet every game against Galvin for the foreseeable future will have his poster in the sheds with a bullseye on it.
Yes, i would have loved to have seen him get smashed for the remainder of his contract named as prop playing in reggies but its just not reality. Best thing Richo could do for the club was cut out the poison. The next best thing Richo could do is have some pretty astute signings lined up. In very little time that will tell.

We probably need to add a half because If Latu or Luai go down, we don't really have much to replace them with Galvin and Sullivan gone.

I know the Reynolds thing is polarising, but for 2 seasons while Latu can string some full games together and add some maturity, I don't think it's a bad thing. Latu will get games through injuries and it gives us strong depth if Luai or Reynolds go down. Once the old boys contract is up, he will be 21...still very young, but with 40 or 50 games experience under his belt.

I don't think we can rely on 18 year olds and KOE cup nobodies to be our halves depth. Fans can't stomach the depth we have under Seyfarth and our props, yet are willing to stomach it in the halves? I think we're asking for trouble if we don't resolve that issue.

If you add Taylan than Doueihi becomes the back up half. Now I know he has deficiencies in that spot but we are talking about the halves here, there aren't many NRL starters who don't have deficiencies. I'm more than comfortable with Luai/Latu with Doueihi or Mason filling in when needed.

LG shouldn't have been named in reserve grade on TLT 15th April. As soon as the Moses camp released the grab that LG thinks Benji and the club were sh!t, and WT clearly made their thoughts known in the public domain, he should've been slapped with the transfer fee then and there, and out the door by the end of that week.
So your saying players should be able to get out of their contracts whenever they want?

We currently have millions to spend, Richo has confirmed his war chest many times. (also we know this as they offered Galvin millions and thats now further money freed up on top) Im assuming a lot of contracts have been front loaded as we are not even close to the cap this year and not even within miles of next years cap....... hope Richo is cooking up something big for the next 3-4 years worth of contracts.

If Benji finds himself out of a job before the end of 26, the club is going to look like morons and Galvin will feel even more vindicated. I love Benji, but this was always on the cards when a handful of players have already walked out the door under his tutelage.
who have walked out the door - i know of a few who were shown the door

Fascinating that he hates us so much ? Do we know the source of this anger ?
And can we ban him ( a la Roosters), whoops , he manages Bula. Mmmm.

Yeah, I see your point. I just think he could have anticipated all this. It was obvious last year he wasn't re-signing. And why offer a million dollar contract if he is so difficult?

My guess is that they rate him so highly and think he's so important that they kept playing him and chasing him despite his obvious disinterest. And I suppose if their assessment of him is correct and he does get that good, then you probably can't blame richo. To me they clearly rate Galvin much more highly than fainu.
