OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I was actually surprised watching Turbo live at a game I was at, it's brilliantly simple the way he plays in attack, all he does is hang around the ruck waiting for a quick play the ball to inject himself, if he doesn't touch the ball it's enough to keep the D in two minds cause of how dangerous he is, it is so simple but so effective, just by sniffing around dummy half behind the hooker.
Exactly, and Galvin has enough endurance to get involved elsewhere and still easily fill that role as well. It also allows Bula to do what he does best, chiming in on an edge or out wide.

Modern tv camera's don't give you a true reflection on the game . who has smarts or team tactics .Sadly think Turbo's career won't end in a fairy tale

They could afford Luai…just like manly can’t afford cherry now.
They offered him 850K for 2 years. He's not valued by them. They bought a young talented kid from parramatta to replace him, not an experienced or solid player. Shows how he's just a cog in a system

His kicks haven't been great. He let in two tries recently vs warriors one being the crucial match deciding one and one against niukore. The week before he let nikorima outmuscle him. He ran for 11 metres. 11 metres on the weekend. That is luke brooks in a tigers jersey numbers. At least luke would set up a try and not be a complete liability and passenger
I would argue his kicks have actually been quite good, especially the mid field kicks. I the first half of the Warriors game, there was a period where the warriors went from starting their set on the 40m line and over the next few sets, they were driven back gradually until they were starting on the 20m line. Every kick was from luai and he was positioning them so that the ball carrier was contained by the defence straight away without room to run.

He also came very close to kicking 2 40 20s.

Id like to see him kick more contested bombs around the goal line rather than passing to Galvin to stab the grubber into the corner.

Agree that he missed that crucial tackle at the end, but he's still a very solid defender.

Well said. Any type of structured attack in the 20 starts with him.

2 concerns I have are his long kicking and his willingness to give others too much control, though I suspect that is Benji.

My main desire is a team that makes the 8 consistently, not a half that tops individual stats in a team that is bottom 4.

I'll openly admit that I was one of the supporters who would have moved heaven and earth to keep him last year, though I never had a go at anyone on the forum for having a different view. The change for me was the Warriors game, I'll preface this by saying he's only a pup and will get much, much better, though for every good thing he did I can remember a set of six where the play broke down, I distinctly remember one set about 25 metres out of the Warriors line Luai gave him the ball, Galvin crabbed right then back left when he couldn't find someone to give it to or any space to run in and just passed the ball back to Luai who looked lost and just took a hit up and got tackled. It's that, the energy he shows Is amazing I love the fact he always wants the ball and isn't afraid to step up and put his hand up, when he does though he's really raw and alot of the time our attack breaks down. Million dollar players don't do that, 750, 800k I can live with while he learns, I just don't want us tied down on a long term deal based on potential again. Latu came on ran straight and scored, I'm not comparing the two, I'm suggesting maybe we give the other guy a chance to prove himself with Luai in the halves before throwing the chequebook at Galvin.
The kid is still only 19….rarified atmosphere at his age. Personally think he’ll be worth the long term investment

Nice sidestep troll

You said Cleary was happy for him to go...I showed quotes saying the opposite...you reply with something totally irrelavant, youre fulla shit
You're upset with facts. All those guys I've mentioned have played pivotal roles in getting penrith premierships. Martin has a CCM, so does Edwards. To'o has had multiple great finals games. Leota was the best forward in the 2022 and 2023 grand finals. Luai has not starred in a single finals game in his entire career. He is a passenger and always will be

Watch the work from Luai for our first try v Dolphins 0:41 seconds...yet Toa gets the try
assist
Its 6 on 6 but he creates the space for Turuva to score
Wow one try 'assist' multiple passes back. Really stretching it there and ignoring the quick passing that also helped create the overlap

First half kicks a very shallow kick with 10 minutes left, then warriors go up field and target him in defence and score. He's a liability when he gets involved, which is barely

Other than the turuva try vs dolphins where he was 1st receiver, you can't just include the fact he passed the ball in a sequence of play for other tries and give him credit there. The attack dies with him a lot. At least galvin can set up tries. If latu plays well I think luai might play in reserves when he returns from injury
