OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Didn't even review the offer from the club. That is a statement in itself. He was always leaving when he requested the releases pre last season.

Serious question . If Galvin gets dropped , like he gets full Hodges treatment , doesn’t that torpedo his value . Especially if Latu or even AD come in and we continue rolling on the way we’ve been going .
This could get ugly
Agree and I think in time this will happen

I get the feeling that the statement was released because we really have moved on

We are forward planning

We made an amazing offer

They want to turn it into a circus to get best deal that can

Well they now have one less club at the table to wheel and deal with

If he already has a specific club in mind he is dealing with behind closed doors than they have no competition now

They can offer whatever

We just need to decide if latu is the answer which I hope he is and move forward with and extend him

Hopefully come Nov 1 Galvin only had 1 real option

Been sincere when i say this why would Galvin go to Manly 1. They are very close to been over in the cap 2. Manly just signed Large to play 5/8 and they have the Aust half signed as well who has been promised a crack at dce job next season.

If he goes back to Parra then he is a blind one eye supporter then.

Been him and his dodgey agent leave him reserve grade once Latu is fit.

I think you are right. We know he is not signing a new deal and have moved on.
I wonder if this is released today to stop the complaining when he is not named tomorrow.

What state is that? All I have heard for the last year is how professional we have become under Richo. One thing we can do though is add him to a growing list that consists of Ice, Bateman and Stef. Guys that were happy to abandon the club mid-contract.
Do you think 3-3 record changes things this year?

We've won 3 spoons in a row, an inexperienced rookie coach, 2 finals series in 20 years etc..

I am optimistic with the signings we've had, but can't expect everyone to be.

I'd be off Galvin completely if he declined a 1 or 2 year extension, but for a 20 year old to commit to the next 6 years at a club with our record is difficult. I understand his situation.

To be fair, I never blamed Stefano for leaving either.

We need leaders who want to change the club, not ride off the coattails of a winning club. Stefano, Paps, Bateman- none of them are leaders and Galvin at this stage in life isn't either.

The club made an annoucement saying he was gone and going back from that announcement would have dire consequences for our credibility. The man in the silly hat is no longer with us so i can see zero backtracking. To have and keep credibility as a club is paramount as it will always pay off long term.
Yes, I thought as much - I think there's more to this story than we know i.e. Richo must know there's offers from other clubs or something like that.

Deal already done..dated 1 November

So u want the club to continue all of the above and the little p*** still walks away , then we lose latu and his brothers , doesn’t add up to me
No that's not what I said at all.

I said that if we want to keep him we need to be the best spot for his development. That window has now passed; he has been given offered the mentoring and the contract $ and he wasn't happy with the offer. He is still worth developing as we have him for another 18 months; but, once Latu is fit he should be developed as the 5/8th and Galvin moved to where best to meet the clubs needs. Be that a different postion or in Reggies.

I think that he will probably remain in the top 17 but not being developed as our 5/8th as that would be wasting time and effort.

Everything points to dce at Roosters for 2 years..and Galvin to dogs

It is a myth that the Roosters refuse to deal with Moses!

Politis won't talk to him directly - but if they want one of his clients they deal with the management company Cove Agency via one of Isaac's underlings...

Do you sincerely believe the Roosters are not in contention for Galvin's signature because they refuse to deal with Moses?
I can only go on what has been talked about and quite frankly, it doesn't matter if it's true or not, the premise of not having anything to do with Isaac Moses remains. We shouldn't be involved with any player that has him as a manager because of things like this.

I don’t. But I know many who would.
Many don't matter, all that matters is Galvin, his family and his manager. If they don't believe that we are well set up for the next 5 years of his contract, they have every right to feel that way.

He clearly came here for a shot at first grade. They whole notion that he should repay us for our faith and stuff is BS. We would ask him to look elsewhere the moment his form dips. You can't expect one-way loyalty.

He's playing us for clowns and wants the circus, which damages the club, the motivation of other players and supporters. He's chucking a DCE, the most greedy player ever to play NRL.

Fans happy to try and force out average players, but any good player who wants to leave on their own is a traitor, a prick, and should be dropped to reserve grade!

As long as he performs well and doesn't rank games, can't be too mad at him.

Personally I think a lot of this is coming from his manager and his dad. Lachie doesn't seem switched on enough to have this all figured out for himself to be honest

Wouldn't deal with Moses back when Tedesco went there
- Seemed to still work out OK for him?

Even got Teddy to dump his management eventually.

The real test will be teams chucking a million at him for 2027 when he will be getting paid maybe 400k or so for 2 years.

If he chucks a Ryan Matterson or Mitch Moses, the NRL needs to take the strictest of actions. I don't know what they can do, but I can't fathom tanking or wanting "out" of the contract for more money.
