OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Appreciate you don't like but sometimes you just got to make your true feelings known...... I'd be one of those bogans if were going.
In this situation, to me, it is showing support for the team but also showing disapproval in regards to the manner in which a player and/ or their support team has tried to manipulate a club.
Knowing what I know now, I don't have it in me to boo him whilst in a tiger's jersey.

A week ago I wanted to make a sign about him to take to the game vs the eels.

As far as I'm concerned , when he goes to Parra, all bets are off. I will hurl abuse at him like there's no tomorrow. But whilst he remains a tiger and is playing along side our guys, I just have to accept his decision as business and want him to help us win.. once his gone he can eat a fat one...

Yeah, 100%. If I'm a player manager, I'm doing exactly the same. Think about it, maybe there's guys who are looking at the situation thinking they don't want to get involved with anything like this, by offering a diffrent approach in public, I'd imagine it could only help him.
I agree. I stated last week he had a vested interest and quite a few had a crack at me. Anasta is smart, he is seeing an opportunity and using his pulpit to exploit it. Moses would be filthy lol.
There’s a reason Braith is so successful.

Fair enough. Not sure what you know that may be different to me but each to their own.

I dont know anything other than what's in the public forum.

Richardson's clarity on the podcast with James Graham was impressive. He unpacked everything, including Galvin, recruitment, why he popped the pimple, and it made a lot of sense to me. It reinforced that we are on the right trajectory with Richo and Benji at the helm of the club.

The best quote from Richo was about not getting sleep the night Galvin made his intentions clear. Not because he was upset about losing Galvin, but about what his next move was. It's brilliant leadership. People think he was butthurt, but he is a businessman and knows how to get sh1t done.

FYI I played junior reps for Manly back in the day. If I was good enough to play NRL and given the opportunity to play for my boyhood club, the Tigers, I can imagine it would have been straightforward decision, even though I was first given the opportunity at Manly... So there's part of me that cant blame Galvin.... But as a fan, when he leaves, I will hate the little pr1ck.

Appreciate the explanation from your perspective.
Mine is I just cannot forgive the back-handed way they have tried thus far to get the club to discipline/ sack/ move on Galvin.
If it was just a matter of he declared he's always wanted to play for X, I'd be upset but wouldn't feel the way I do.

For all the crap we give that guy, he has staunchly been behind the club 100% of the way, if I was a player who didn't represent himself, he's the only manager I'd call.
We used to give it to Braith. In our family, (well, the lads did), his name was the “Blow up Doll”, soft and firetrucked.
But I agree with you on that, I reckon he might make a good manager/agent.

It’s dumb and frankly there is a lot of character assassination going on towards his family considering Benji and Shane have said numerous times that they are good people from a good family.
That does seem very deliberate though.

Privately, I'd say they'd be fuming with the entire Galvin camp.

They’ve maintained that narrative for the whole time he’s been in top grade.
Yes they’ll be a bit stung they got played but that’s business. It happens everyday in every industry.

I hear you.

The thought crossed my mind too, but I don't think Galvin could openly come out and say "I want to play for Parra", even if he's thinking it, especially if the talk is true that a deal has already been done behind closed doors.

IMO the "Development" quotes were just the excuse they are using, because he can't say "I want to play for parra".

The blowback from the development comments is where everything kicked off, and you are right, his management team tried to manipulate the situation to get their desired outcome. It hasn't been great.

But there are a lot of unknowns. Maybe Gavlin genuinely want to be coached under Ryles who served his apprenticeship under Bellamy vs Benji who has 1 season under his belt and no prior coaching experience. Maybe he thinks with the likes of Moses and Iongi, they can take his boyhood club to a premiership.

I don't necessarily think its the right call for the Tigers, maybe not even for Galvin himself. But what else can we do now but plan for the future and invest in Latu. Maybe he becomes the next Katoa before we know it.

There is a chance that this situation doesn't work out too bad for us after all...

I also think that they enjoy wearing the badge of being the calm heads and 'bigger person' throughout his last 18 months, always talking him up in the face of complaints, release requests, etc.

They let the mask slip a little in the last week through emotion, but they've quickly recalibrated and fallen back into the 'they're good people' narrative.

I think that entire messaging publicly is only about perception. I think they believed that if they kept up that line of thinking for long enough, he'd eventually come around and commit long term.

Refused to look at/acknowledge a 6 mill contract that involves weeks of work involving sponsors legal teams and then no courtesy of at least taking the GMs calls after the club has rolled out the red carpet for their son with a long-term view of building a club a team around him - ok yep Ive formed a view.
