OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I’ve watched all the Dogs games, and I don’t think Galvin is the only issue, however he’s the problem with how the team is playing.

It was reported last year that a lot of players were upset with the Galvin saga, his signing and the spine reshuffle to accommodate him.

My hot take is that Gus will go in the next 12 months. It's happened 3 times before and it will happen again.
The Dogs signed a lot of experienced journeyman coupled with a couple of class footballers in their re build, along the Storms model. Their mistake was their class players did not play in the spine. Now their journeyman are starting to plod and are not athletic enough to keep up with the speed of the game. Galvin would have been a great buy if he was playing 6 outside an elite seven and been paid a third of what he is getting.

Gus will now go hard at anything that resembles class because the window has closed on his current squad

Lachlan will be happy with his game because he scored an individual try. I still think he plays like it's all about him. He went ok but not sure he should be given the keys to any FG squad while ever he has the hero mentality that seems to be firmly ingrained from treating him like a superstar far too early from all and sundry.
You summed it up so well!

The narrative now is becoming that Ciraldo and Gus are ripping their roster apart to make Lloyd happy. There is zero chance he could be a popular guy in that dressing room. Last year it was Mahoney and Sexton. This year Burton and Xerri. I know players are professionals, but still, part of them must be absolutely livid with how Ciraldo and Gus have sabotaged them.

The problem with the dogs is that they were thinking that they have entered a 'premiership window' while blowing up their squad that got them into that position.

If Mitch Woods is as good as they think, they still have the potential to be dominant in 5 years assuming they find a different fullback by then. I'm just not sure that timeline will work with Gus and Ciraldo since they have already 'rebuilt' the squad.

You might understand if he was a standout performer, however their record with him at 6 is ordinary and they have scored 1 more point than the Dragons so far this year.

Kikau is going backwards, their forwards are still shit, Burton will be off to Perth and they underestimate the value of his long kicking game. Tracey is average and their hooker is not a hooker....i think their premiership window is closed and was barely ever open. Critta, Burton and Kikau have carried that team to where they are and all 3 are regressing Critta less about performance and more about recurring injuries, only so much he can put his body through.

Gus was leader of the media pack who put the next “Bradman “ tag on Galvin, than paid silly money and stroked Galvin’s ego to entice him to the Dogs. So Gus the guru now finds himself in a hard spot, Galvin is performing like any other young kid new to grade, he having plenty of average days. Trouble is Gus has stuffed up the balance of the team to accommodate a over paid rookie.

Music to my ears

Doubt it will ever be Gus's fault - Ciraldo will be the fall guy if things don't turn around. Ciraldo will start looking tired...

What did he say to Ivan when he let him go at the Riff at his first stint, he needs a break from coaching, he's very tired, probably due for that old chestnut excuse again, good call.
They have locked Gus and Ciraldo in until the end of the 2031 if they flick either one of them and especially Gus, it will make Richo's payout look like pocket change. Might cost Laundy a pub, maybe a shitty one.

Braith pretty much said he'd move sullivan to #7 and leave Burton at #6 to help the bulldogs play direct.

Reni said that Galvin needs to work on his passing and that its far too hard for his outside men to catch some of the balls he is throwing.

The wheels are falling off.

I am really looking forward to watching the match tmw night.

I think LG has a long successful career ahead of him but reckon it looks like reserve grade would do him some good to get his confidence back. Tomorrow night could actually get ugly.
