You were missing the point, which was who was a better player this year between Api and TDS. Its a no contest.

TDS will be a cracking player. So will Hayward.

I cant imagine you think he was worthy of a $650k per season contract though? If we made that signing, the same management would have been scolded for paying overs.

So we could possibly be playing with the Australian number 7 next year or at the very least former Australian number 7 Jock lines up the attempt to put the Tiger's down by onlye 22 heading into the break

Of course not. But he very clearly started on many occasions he was a proud Tiger and wanted to be a part of the rescue of this club.
Surely Richardson could have com up with something to keep him here.
He just rolled over and wished him luck.
I think there was something else going on behind the scenes. You and I spoke of a rumour going round at the time and he and Galvin were clearly not part of the “in” crew. They were often filmed sitting away from the main group and not joining in with Luai and his BS “culture”.

Tucker its your opinion that it was poor management. All you are doing is looking at the possible onfield performances of TDS, Haywood and Api over the next 2 years. You arent looking at the promises TDS wanted and the price tag he wanted. Im not saying what was the right or wrong call, im just pointing out some context to the situation that you are ignoring. The club sticking with their best player and captain and investing in a young Haywood for much less money than what TDS wanted is a reasonable call. More than reasonable call.
Arguing who will be better is pointless. Only time will tell.

Yeah.. if he would have stayed for $350k then that's a different story... but i doubt that was the case.

I’m not arguing that. The Haywood fans are pushing that line.
You say I’m ignoring certain conditions…I’m saying you have no idea what they were either. You do not know what he was promised. You have no idea what conversations took place. You are quoting figures that are from sources we all tend to take with a grain of salt.
This young bloke who we had been working on/with in first grade since he was a young teenager didn’t just decide not to re-sign - he cut his current contract short and Richardson let it happen.
That is piss poor retention and player management.

The overall quality of the PM team selected this year looks pretty poor. Not a great indicator of true rep level talent.

Exactly, so how can you form your opinionthe other way then? If we dont know we dont know. You are very strong in that it was poor management to let him go, but then go on to say you dont know what has happened behind closed doors.

You are the one trying to tell me I’m ignoring facts. You don’t know the facts anymore than I do. The difference is I’m not claiming to know them. I’m offering an opinion on a forum.
I think Richardson and Benji have had a real tough time dealing with retaining players based on their output.
Still waiting to hear about these signings that were promised around the time Galvin left….
