Lack of quality assistants

We are having one of our worst seasons ever, tactically we seem to be behind a lot of teams with our structures etc.

Looking over other clubs coaching rosters the top clubs seem to have assistants with head coach experience or highly regarded future first grade coaches.

I believe this is an area we can and need to improve on. For what ever reason we have no name guys that aren't cutting the mustard our attack and defence sucks. We need results and the best possible coaches available to help Madge.

The footy department need to open there wallets and get the club some tactical minds to help Madge out. Guys like John Morris or even Geoff Toovey should be sounded out to bring in some fresh ideas. Your thoughts?

This is exactly what I thought. Who says our assistants are duds ?

Maybe they are the problem but maybe they are awesome.

I actually think this is a Madge weakness and i am a pro madge supporter. I do not want him sacked at all.

But i think he got really hurt by the Seibold 'white anting' that apparently went on.

I think he is worried of a quality assistant taking over the head coach role if things go bad, like they did at Souths.

Hence the reason he has lesser known assistants that really are not quality at all.

I say were missing some key people.

Defense comes from structure and grit. We need to be tackling effectively and not opening up gaps. We cant.

The Roosters did an article on Craig Fitzgibbon. Former club Captain always wressling. Always challenging the players. Always pushing them harder.

Where is that here?

Thats not Madge, though he should make it happen. That is assistants. That is support.

Agree mate, he’s dinosaurs are clearly useless. He keeps speaking about accountability with his staff but nothing changes. The good juniors love being coached by Wayne lambkin you would think having him in the first grade side would give the players something to aspire to. Shayne Millard and Wayne Collins doing nothing. I’d also swap out nsw coach with those two

Former club Captain always wressling. Always challenging the players. Always pushing them harder.

I know for a fact we have a wrestling coach who pushes them. The guy is as hard as nails.

He is a mate and we talk about the team and about their wrestling. He reckons they should train even harder but he is a nut.

Fighters tend to over train with the belief that the fight should be easy compared to the training. The thing is they fight every couple of months rather than play a game every week.
