do you really think that the club with over a $million CAP space hasn’t a contingency plan?

Honestly, I don't believe we have a contingency plan.

Already been reported on nrl.com that we're now in for JAC.

so...we badly need a fullback so we're looking to sign a winger?

No, we're going to put together the best NRL roster we can out of the players available and the money we have. Which gun fullback would you be looking to sign, incidentally? We were obviously interested in Brimson, Lomax and Mitchell - who else is in your black book of superb fullbacks we should be chasing for 2020?

The JAC situation has lumped a heap of pressure on Latrell & Co. No way Souths can sign Jai Arrow, Latrell & JAC. Something's gotta give. A lot going on in the background

So, we've released Matterson and Marsters and didn't have a big name locked in.... Pascoe is inept and proves it time and time again

With over $1million in the kitty to spend for 2020 will will end up with a very good winger and fullback.

Tigers obviously grew tired of the stalling from the Mitchell camp, problem often with star players is they always know there is a better offer out there, and there well could be,tigers are showing that character and attitude are a priority in terms of recruitment,if a player doesnt want to be at our club then go play elsewhere!I question how much interest madge had in recruiting LM in the first place, and if it was more of a push from the board and others that led further into contract discussions.

I wouldn't be jumping the gun yet....

BREAKING Latrell admits that his decision to reject the Tigers offer was due to the Fact that Corey Thompson was prepared to fight for the job, whereas he just expected it.

JAC to us latrell to melbourne

easy deal done heard it here first 48 hours

Well he must want to play in the centres again.... Paps just signed on until the end of 2022.

Im not exactly ecstatic we might not be getting Mitchell, but what i am proud of is that we wouldnt bow to his silly demands. It might be a wake up call for him he only seemed interested in how much cash he could get and how much time he could have off while doing it. Hardly screams commitment and will to take the club forward, hope he has a good hard think about what it is he actually wants.

G'day @bbobb: Good post.......probably the best I have read so far, and I couldn't agree more with your thoughts :+1:

Have a great day and a very happy Christmas :christmas_tree: :tiger: :tada: :tiger: :church: :tiger:

So, first reaction is that I'm impressed. We made an offer, Latrell didn't really want it, we moved on. We refused to make special allowances for one player which would have created player disharmony and made us weak. You don't let the inmates run the asylum. Impressive we took that stand despite the inital backlash we would receive.

So now, can we look at JAC and Lomax? Lomax at fullback? Can we afford Arrow as well? In all honesty, if we can land two of those players (plus Luciano) I will be pleased.

We have stood up to not be walked on, that's good, but we need now to land some signatures. Hoping for Luciano soonish.

The worst part is he's now stuck paying his new manager to negotiate a wage that will be smaller than the one that we had offered.

Geez Avo,
If the pain is that great, why put yourself through it?
You would have to be a masochist.
Move on.

I think you’re right, probably time to move on.

Maybe part of Latrell's problem was the Contract between him and his Manager that had a Clause that allowed the Manager to go to the local RSL each day for 12 hours to plot his negotiations.

Pascoe and Maguire better have something else lined up so they don't look any more stupid than they already do.

You're acting like a spoiled baby. The club made him a good offer, he wouldn't commit, the club moved on. What exactly do you want them to do?

It's also quite possible that the Tigers have realised they're playing a strong hand - they've pulled this offer, but have left the door open to making a (possibly smaller) one if Mitchell gets his s- together.

I'm not acting like a baby at all. This club has a long track record of making poor decisions. It's a bit of a pattern. If they have no contingency plan you don't think they're stupid? If Thompson is fullback round 1 next year will you be happy?

The whole reason for withdrawing the offer, per Pascoe's comments, is to give them time to make other moves. Their options were:
1) Never make a bid for Mitchell in the first place.
2) Leave the offer on the table indefinitely.
3) Withdraw the offer after a reasonable time.
Which would you have taken?

This is exactly the move I would've made, and what I suggested yesterday. Time to make a move to put the pressure back on his agent. Show some strength in the negotiations and don't just bow and scrape. Over to you manager and this isn't just some deadline you can stuff around with and get extended, we're going to take our big pile of money and offer it to someone else and if they accept it, then you miss out and nobody else has that pile of money for 2020.

Roosters will end up re-signing him on 400k.

I think it is and always has been Souffs. I reckon that is what Roosters found out and that is why they burned him and made the comment about not releasing him to them in 2020.
