Lets announce Luciano Leilua and continue as per program.

Hope I see the day we sign a superstar in his prime.

Pascoe and Maguire better have something else lined up so they don't look any more stupid than they already do.

You're acting like a spoiled baby. The club made him a good offer, he wouldn't commit, the club moved on. What exactly do you want them to do?

It's also quite possible that the Tigers have realised they're playing a strong hand - they've pulled this offer, but have left the door open to making a (possibly smaller) one if Mitchell gets his s- together.

Well then. That seems fair enough

Glad it's over one way or another

You realise, it's not over though right? Not until he signs with someone or signals his intent to stay at the Roosters in 2020.

He could still very easily sign with us tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is just a friendly reminder the public demanded. I wouldn't be surprised if Latrell signed this afternoon - and I wouldn't be surprised if we target Moylan again to overcompensate either.

I'm not acting like a baby at all. This club has a long track record of making poor decisions. It's a bit of a pattern. If they have no contingency plan you don't think they're stupid? If Thompson is fullback round 1 next year will you be happy?

Stupid for not compromising the Club standards they want to achieve…?

what standards are they Geo? Never winning anything, ever? I've followed this club since I was old enough to follow rugby league but i've just about had enough.

Allowing players special treatment over others in the squad we have done that in the past...not a good way to build a winning culture...

As talented as Mitchell may be...if he wasn't the right fit for what we want to build..well next..

FWIW....from what I've been told Mitchell's management had agreed for him to come here ..then wanted changes in the contract ..to which WT weren't prepared to make..at this stage..

We still have interest in Mitchell..

IMO it shows we are going in the right direction...

chin up mate

They are obviously doing their best

They are the ones that really know what's going on

LM is probably hoping for something better

Can't blame Pascoe and Madge for that

At least they tried

This pulling of the contract shows we have balls

LM no longer has bargaining power

Other clubs dealing with him have power over him now

He may struggle to get anywhere near what he wants now

Time to move on

Maybe he will suddenly realize this is his best option and commit

But we've made a powerful stand that I believe will give us power in future dealings with any potential player

oh yeah everyone will be gagging to join us.

Obviously LM was just using us up

If he really wanted to join he will be on the phone to his manager right now to say he wants the deal done

If he's not on the phone right now than the club made the right decision

I know it's disappointing but blaming the club is ludicrous

They are the ones that know what's going on

Not us

Once a club starts to kowtow to player's rediculous demands the club is on a path out. That's why roosters are a top club.

And we are going to end up as good as the roosters

Lettrell withh his stupid special demands would have a great effect on team morale don't you think? Also do you really think that the club with over a $million CAP space hasn't a contingency plan?

Honestly, I don't believe we have a contingency plan.

Good to see the club stand up for themselves.
It seems pretty obvious to everyone that Latrell's management is taking him from one disaster to another.
Or possibly we've heard his hearts somewhere else.
Either way we have thrown the ball back in their court and said we're not playing silly games anymore.

The club will be better off. At least it's not going to prostitute itself.

The whole reason for withdrawing the offer, per Pascoe's comments, is to give them time to make other moves. Their options were:
1) Never make a bid for Mitchell in the first place.
2) Leave the offer on the table indefinitely.
3) Withdraw the offer after a reasonable time.
Which would you have taken?

Already been reported on nrl.com that we're now in for JAC.
