Moylan has shown who he really is at the Sharks. Everyone banking on a so-called form reversal will be disappointed. His Panthers from was an aberration. Please believe him when he demonstrates who he really is and stop pretending he is a good buy simply because we can’t get anyone else.

Moylan had 8 try assists in 11 games at fullback last year. Thompson had 1 for the entire season (22 games of which 12 were at fullback).

This is the point I was making the other day though - you can't just have a team of people who can generate try assists, you need some people that are actually the ones scoring the tries. I imagine if Corey Thompson had the options of : give it to Xerri, Xerri score; or give it to Morris; Morris score then he would've had a few more try assists to his name.

Moylan had 0 tries and 1 line break in his 11 games. Corey Thompson had 9 tries and 11 line breaks in his 22 games. Different players with different strengths. What does our team need more? Who knows...

Well, our spine needs another ball player desperately.

1
6 Benji: way, way down on his peak year assists and creativity
7. Brooks : teams can almost solely focus their defense on him if we do not have another ball player.
9: makeshift

We really, really need a 1 who can set things up and take pressure off Brooks.

Benji Marshall was 5th in the league for try assists last year (17 in 19 games) and Luke Brooks was 6th (16 in 24 games) so...not really.

He had 6 assists the season before and is 34...unlikely to produce 17 again / unlikely to play a full season.

I fail to see how people can think in the modern game you can have a make shift FB 'and' hooker? That is a massive load on your 6 and 7.

And the 6 will be 35 years old by kick off.

I can't see how we do not need a ball player at full back personally, but hope you are right.

Out of interest have we completely given up on Latrell coming here? I guess it would have probably happened by now if he was.

Imo that Instagram post has buried whatever chance we had. And that chance was already on life support

This is like a love triangle. Its like a guy having an affair with another woman, and that woman thinks he'll leave his wife for her. Then out of nowhere, the husband writes a sappy love note to his wife on social media, pretty much telling the other woman its over, by declaring his love for his wife.

We're the other woman.

But i feel as though the wife he wrote his love letter to has got the shits with all the things he has done and possibly burnt too many bridges to be welcomed back with open arms.

Is Matt Moylan our rebound?

I'd reply to that but I'd get banned.

Whats the point in worrying season 2020- we are going in already without a hooker and hoping and praying Liddle comes good sometime soon- unless he trips over a blade of grass. In the interim just make do hooker- either Reynolds or Walters, might as well right off half the season. Teams will have figured out Reynolds and his service from dummy half not great. Walters I dont know.

So why are we worrying about fullback? I dont particularly want Moylan, iffy about Mitchell and dont care about Thompson. WT really have a bit of a problem with succession planning and recruitment / retention. We do see a bit lost and not focused on key problem positions. More utility players mean less specialists and less skills.

Edit- PS Yes, I'm giving up on this season. Just not happening as far as I'm concerned. Seen nothing to change my opinion. Still support the team but wont get caught up in it.

I can see Benji & Josh rotating the 6 & 9 throughout the game, will assist with confusing defences as well.

I just don't understand why we don't get a specialist hooker. Is Farah the only proper hooker we've had in the past 10 years? (excluding Ballin as he was injured so much).

Unfortunately, even though we spent some quality time with this other woman's husband, and despite him upsetting his missus, he is still running the eye over every other woman he sees.

He's not even limiting it to women, he's gauging any interest at all.

So yeah, we're done.

In all the comments Ive seen (understandably) moaning about our dummy half prospects for next year and discussing makeshift fixarounds involving Marshall, Reynolds & Mbye, I havent seen a single suggestion that Walters may be the answer. He was good enough to play first grade last year at the Storm (I think at 5/8) and I think the majority of his QCup was at 9. he might be Madges ace up his sleeve.

Multiple people have him at 9 or on the bench (with a view to him playing 9) in the "Your Team for 2020" thread...

I think it was only 1 and I saw that game, he came off the bench and from memory played at 6. Looked OK but not groundbreaking. My worry with him is he seems to be a late bloomer, but Ill be hopeful until I see otherwise.

Well since this is no longer about Latrell..

Walters never started 1 game at 9 in QLD Cup...wasn't even Easts Tigers back up choice..

He's a 5/8th

Ah ok, thanks for the clarification, not sure where I got that from then. But seemingly at the Tigers being a 5/8th is a pre-requisite to play hooker.

Two games. One at 5/8 and the other was 3 mins from the bench. Hasnt played nine in the Qld cup either

I agree with Wayne Rushton. I don't think they're doing anything wrong at all. He's got a contract for next year, there is no rush for him. He's gonna do whatever he can to ensure he's doing right by him and his family.

I think he and his agent were disappointed that no-one offered a $1M+ deal. We went close but didn’t offer that mil every year.

I think he really wants to be a “million dollar” player.
