Latrell Mitchell Contract Discussion

Mitchell's options diminish by the day. You'd think he'll have to make a call on his future very soon. Can't see how him sticking around at a club that doesn't want him there can work for either side

I think it’s fair to say

It’s either

Tigers or Rabbitohs

Rabbits formalled have offered Arrow big money, Walker seems set to re sign, no one in there right mind would pay out Gagai’s full contract and Alex Johnston isn’t the biggest pull in the NRL - don’t think there offer will be anywhere close to ours

Whereas, we can offer him fullback and 1 million a season

I think it’s just a matter of when he signs with us

Things might happen quickly now he's back in Sydney and he's been told by the Roosters there's no room for him.

I'd agree , especially now Arrow reportedly isn't going to be granted a release until 2021

Still relaxed about it all and just glad that we are at least having a go at getting Latrell. Of course it would be beneficial to have it decided one way or the other today, but willing to give it another week.

Reckon so, and every week that he doesn't sign the chooks are liable for $10k odd of his payment and cap space.

A while back someone mentioned that for us to make an announcement that he has signed, The Roosters would have to declare their hand and formally cancel LMs Current contract first. Once that happens we are entitled to proceed to sign him up.

It would be a bit weird having heard about the teary deary Cafe meetup yesterday with Unkka Nick to expect LM to suddenly turn up at Concord with a beaming smile saying how he'd always wanted to be a Tiger ever since his Junior Days with the Taree Tigers and even before that at the Macksville Maggies when he was in Kindy.

I think a major "Face Saving" exercise must be underway this week and nothing will be forthcoming until Friday at the earliest but probably Monday after a Marketing Makeover Weekend to learn the "Who Are We" theme song!

No one expects him to declare his life long love for our club. I can't believe the big deal being made about this. Of course he'd be emotional leaving the Roosters. He's grown up there and won premierships. Tons of players over the years have had to move on from clubs they loved. Reynolds bled blue and white, but no one could question his commitment since being with us.

I'm sure if Mitchell signs with us, or whoever, he'll get on with the job. To be critical of him for not embracing our club when he hasn't even left his current club is brainless.

This topic is still current

This thread will fill with more crap quick enough Kul

If Souths can not get Arrow for a year they will have a ton of cap space and 12 months to pull another medical retirement or move a player or two on. I would imagine they are odds on at this stage to get LM and we are very long odds
