LM reposted something suggesting its funny how the media are all over him for exploring his options, while another NRL player who assaulted a woman isn't getting spoken about at all - speaking of Reynolds.

You wouldn't do that if you were joining that player would you....

He won’t be joining reynolds cause reynolds won’t be here

What's the latest on the LM chase?

Should know for sure next week. It’s tigers or roosters for 2020. Last I heard LM might only now want a one year deal for 2020. And retest for 2021. Not a bad idea tbh.

Until you break your ankle or do your knee.
Everything will become clear next week.

In other words he will join Souths in 2021.

Do you really think the club will agree to a one year deal knowing that Mitchell is just biding his time with us until the club he really wants to go to has the funds?

For sure, more so talking from a club perspective. I’d be happy to give him 1.2 for 2020 only. Having a motivated trel in a contract year would be scary for any opposing team. Maybe include a player option on a second year. Clubs need to get more creative with contracts. Personally I’d never offer a deal beyond 3 years for any player.

That's a bold statement - fact or prediction?

I think he would be looking for an easy payday personally. If it's for 1 year then offer him exactly what the roosters were going to pay him for the year

1 year would be a waist of time he would be free to talk to other clubs the hole time it would just be a huge distraction that we don’t need

Would he be motivated though - he could sign a 1 year deal with us if the roosters release him for 2020 and at the same time sign a longer term contract with souths from 2021 - no motivation to push himself with us.

One year deal - not on your Nellie for mine.

That is just being used to the fullest extent - used to help those mongrels in the Cardinal and Myrtle.

Imagine a sports star using a team. Unheard of. Tigers have about 1.6mil to spend for 2020. Spend it. 2020 with trel at fullback is better than 2020 with Mbye at fullback. Worry about the rest later.

I wouldn't do that knowing he is almost certain to jump ship the next year.

I know what you’re trying to say but we then go through the same thing next year. The speculation will be a distraction.

We havnt changed our position and the rest is pure media speculation - as it has been the entire time. Arrow is taking just as long to sort his future. If you want the most sort after players securing them is always going to be more challenging because they have options - unlike players we have attracted in the past.

After our Chairman came out and made the statement about speaking to Politis etc, if we don't sign him, he's made himself and our Club, look like fools

This is not such a bad idea ...the big picture has to be considered the success of the club is reliant on success on the field . LM signs on for next season only the Tigers make top 8 and might push a bit into the finals series. The club is going to be hugely active in the player market for 2021 the COE will be under construction the club has surged into the top 8 the club is a much more attractive offer .
I see this as using LM more so him using the club , could hook the Foxx in the meantime Latrel thinks ok this is not such a bad place after all or he moves on to SOuths but the club comes out the winner .
Do not write this idea off as it has some merit to it!

No it is a terrible idea, imagine signing a big name player for one season but when you go into the market with big money to spend, the following year, that player is leaving. If Latrell didn't want to be here at the end of that season what hope do you have in attracting new players to the club. It wouldn't improve our position, in relation to signing players, it would put it at risk of being worse.

Worked for the Raptors and Kawhi.

Imagine a team being dumb enough to allow a sports star to flagrantly use them and turn them into a laughing stock halfway house.
