Mate I feel slightly responsible to the forum and I know the Mitchell camp and they are excited to join Souths and pushing hard. But they are a young team with little experience and have been totally ambushed with a grenade by a sophisticated unconscionable and unscrupulous organization. What these rats have done is very dirty and malicious, but there is a plan put together to combat them.


Yes I know their bid. Uncle nick will waive all costs saving Latrell 200k off the bat if he joins the Tigers. Plus they will offer 900k year one and $1m thereafter for four year contract.

Be interesting to see if the way roosters handle it ends up being better than. With WT and matto. WT approach has stopped any more headaches but this LM matter could drag on and be major distraction for the rosters.

I can see them keeping him on the payroll and having him sit out such is their disdain for south's.

Webster reported that Souths opening offer was well below Mitchell's expectations (what a surprise) and that Mitchell's new agent had already made a counter offer. You'd think it would have to be a very very good one. Seems it is all about the money after all!

I just had a look at some of the Souths comments about LM on their forum and if some of you think LM is not worth signing go and take a look for yourself.. That was my first time I have looked at it but there members are talking like they have signed the GOAT and shedding tears of joy today when the media announced he was heading there. Now they are all freaking out because LM has decline the offer from Souths for now.. LM Camp have counter offered to souths so it is pretty clear he wants to go there and will otherwise why would you counter offer.

Just show you how much of an impact he would of been for us and our brand had of signed him... Oh well maybe next time.

Even then, got to find a suitor and then get compensation for helping them. That situation won’t work here if it could it would of already been done

Because he is a 2 x premiership winner, SOO and Aus Rep player and the players union won't let him sign for a low amount... South will just release a player or 2 and make it happen.. A player like this does not come alone often so you do everything in your power to make it happen. They will still get him for a excellent price regardless and it will be alot lower than our offer but that's how it is unfortunately.

What odds can I get for LM playing with no NRL club this year, but instead taking up boxing, where towards the end of the year he is in the exhibition fight vs some no-name as a warm-up to Mundine fighting someone?

It's getting to the point now where he won't be fit when he takes the field, regardless of where he ends up.

Souths need forwards more than backs. Mitchell looking more like a prop than a back at the moment. Maybe he’ll start up front for 2020 until Arrow gets there lol

That's 500k-600k he'd lose in 2020 by signing with Souths. Thats a lot of money to turn down for a guy with a young family
Still reckon we can get him, hopefully Madge and Pascoe are taking advantage of the situation
The next 7 days should be pretty interesting
We just really need that 1 marquee signing to get the ball rolling. If we can sign LM you'd think that would all but guarantee JAC as well who will be granted a release at the end of 2020 at the latest
Plus COE next year with a tonne of cap money to spend
