Old article, but he agreed in principle to the deal with the Cowboys...apparently he wouldn't be able to join them until December though...please don't tell me this is going to drag out until then!

On Mitchell....a lot will depend now on what Valentine Holmes decides to do.

I can't see him sticking around to be a training squad player on $180k - he might have visions of chasing a dream, but to be honest, I think he'll realise that he has limited time to make his money and he'll take the Cowboys offer.

On the other hand, anything can happen....

**Of most concern is he sounded out the Cowboys when we have the best offer on the table financially. What does that tell you? We are second choice...again....**

Maybe I'm being cynical...I hope it's just the Cowboys pushing Holmes into a quick decision, but if I'm the Cowboys and I can get Latrell Mitchell right now, I'd take him.

On a side note, it's interesting that we went to him, but he's happy to jump on a plane and go to meet the Cowboys. I don't have a good feeling about this...

I agree it's a bit concerning, but quite frankly his management wouldn't be doing their job without looking at every possible offer and situation and allowing the player to make an informed decision.
This club needs a shot in the arm and i hope we get it, but if we don't there are other to fish to fry and life will go on.

Maybe we play the game and throw an offer at Valentine Holmes and give Latrell a time ultimatum

Yeah that's true...

It was a one horse race a week ago, and now there's some competition which makes me nervous.

If the reports are to be believed, he's meeting us and the Cowboys next week then taking a few days to clear his head and make a decision. I guess we'll all know next week.

Or next month, I don’t think the circus is over just yet.

I know I'm showing my age but who else remembers the Lote Tuqiri thread. That topped 100 pages (so we've got a ways to go yet).

At least that was a good outcome!

Jesus Christ. The Cowboys have been rubbish in recent years... We pump them every time we play! How are we still second fiddle in this case???

Was it ?? ...Did we get value for money ??

I think so, I thought Lote was good for us, though it would’ve been a while lot better if he hadn’t injured his arm the way he did. At least we actually had a shot at the title when he played with us.

Val Holmes with us would be a disaster. He is a massive show pony, who failed to even settle with a Sharks team that won a comp. Only reason he is considering the Cows is he is from there.

Latrell would be one of the greatest things to happen to us...Holmes would be a complete disaster. Gold Coast Hayne level disaster.

I wouldn't give him an ultimatum, but i would absolutely sound out Holmes. Like i said, plenty of fish to fry.

I understand, i kind of feel the same, except it was only a one horse race for a week. Both the Dogs and Souths were linked and so were the Cows. It's just been quieter on that front. I still wouldn't rule out Souths either.

@weststigers proz has good tigers mail , and weedler gets his mail from the agents . So 1 is probably what’s going on and the other is spin to maximise whatever agendas the person the info came from . Could be Orr brothers who are the managers of Valentine .

Even on the Tweed the humidity can be intense, any further north Qlders are just crazy tbh

I'm used to humidity , but the night we went to Townsville for the WT's game v NQ when Hoppa went digging for gold would have the be the most unbearable day/night humidity wise I have ever dealt with

You were still dripping with sweat in an air conditioned room

Cut back on the toads..

@WT2K Hey Mate, Do you have inside info on this ? If so what real percentage would you give us of getting him?
If it does fall over though I wonder who we will be chasing as not sure there are too many Fullback options out there.

If this doesn't go though the poster who said they caught him signing the contract on drone footage may have egg on his face.

@Roar_Power Naughty wrong with Concord at all. Infact it is one of the most sought areas in Sydney. Typical Wests Tigers self put down.

You took that seriously? 🤔

We have by a far better coach than the Cows and then there's our new head of football Adam Hartigan who, according to Proszenko has retained a close association with LM from his junior days at the Chooks. Apparently, LM is also a good mate of both Momorovski and Garner. The Cows seem to view Latrell as 2nd choice behind Holmes who I believe will return to the NRL shortly and join them thus closing that door-they can't afford both!. Still optimistic we will get him.
