Latrell Mitchell Contract Discussion

I would suspect that the reason of wanting to play fullback is being trumped by the desire / want of cash. Why else entertain clubs that have already just signed their fullbacks for 2020 and beyond? Titans- Brimson and Cowboys- Holmes, unless of course its a wonderful excuse for a free short holiday to Gold Coast and Townsville.

Also note- that that behaviour is also noted for second time around.

I think Souths are the real threat and I'm almost sure now when we see NRL decision on Burgess, we'll see the dominos fall pretty quickly one way or the other. Sort of depends how strong the Bunnies think they are in forwards coming through the grades to cover.

Just a different angle, don't Brydens sponsor the roosters as well? That might be what is giving us the leverage the rosters might on release him to us.. Just a thought

Agreed. I could see this happening. next Gi and all that biz...coach bennet etc

Just a question if Latrell has already signed with us how is it he is having a meeting with Titans who knows what’s going on we just have to wait to hear from the club. But I am getting a little worried that they haven’t announced any other signings

Exactly, all these people saying it's done and he's signed with us.... yet he's meeting other teams.

Titans reports could be BS, but he's definitely met the Cowboys since we have had him 'signed'.

Who says he's meeting other teams?

All Mal said was would he be interested in coming up to have a talk and he supposedly said 'yeah bra' or something like that.

Of course his agent could say why bother, they don't have cash and just re-signed their fullback.

The only place Latrell has been linked with Souths is from an anonymous source on their forum. Mole then ran with that a few hours after it was posted. Not a single other media outlet has even reported a whisper of it. Theres no secrets in rugby league, if they had even considered meeting everyone would know about it.

Titans cap is well and truley strecthed and they cant offload anyone. He's more likley to stay at the Roosters then go there

There is a new article on Fox sports where Mal is saying he is interested in signing Latrell.

Warning
Someone on twitter pretending to be “Wests Tigers” has just announced the “we” have signed Latrell Mitchell for $5.7M over 4 years.

It is a fake account

Either Latrell likes our offer or he doesnt

It's not hard to work out
He needs to be happy with it or we will have another Matterson on our hands
Imagine we sign Latrell for $1,000,000 a season on a 4 year contract but he wanted $1,200,000
Next year He kills it and someone offers him $1,200,000 a season
Does he jump ship because that's what he wanted in the 1st place
Our offer should be a take it or leave it
If he is waiting for a better offer then we up the offer or move on
Let Latrell take the gamble and maybe get offered less elsewhere
The he looses out
I hope we have some other irons in the fire
Hopefully we have targeted a few big signings
I would hate to put all our eggs in the one basket because we might get fried
Who knows
We may have already signed a number of players
Time will tell
But the suspense is killing most of us

@matchball Mal might be interested in becoming an astronaut too but it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

Mal gave us the kiss of death at round 25... at halftime they were going around the panel asking who will win..he said us

Just received word that Latrell Mitchell has signed a long term contract with Marrickville RSL.

Seriously you guys getting yourselves worked up over NOTHING. If he signs, thats great. If not, thats great too. We dont want anyone who who doesnt want to be at our club.

Take a deep breath and come back to this thread when something official is announced instead of dealing with hypotheticals and 'what may be going on' . Dont be giving yourselves high blood pressure with a dose of anxiety.

Latrell Mitchell isnt our saviour. He isnt going to help u pay off your mortgage quicker

Dunno about the Titans reports, but there was real footage of the Cowboys meeting.

AFTER forum members 'in the know' were calling it done.

If he did sign an NRL contract with us then he is utilising the 10 day cooling off period to make sure it's the best deal. If he hasn't signed anything then I'd be tempted to pull the offer. It's becoming a farce!

Cooling off period doesn’t exist anymore I don’t think.

Just been reading an article on Fox league and it states that Latrell is not due back from his holiday until early Jan and just seem to interested in rushing.

I think if there are other fish to catch, we should be looking at them now, as 2020 season is fast approaching.

Surely the NRL must have something in place these occurences (as in the Matterson cas" taking place again?

@happy_tiger But we can guarantee a fullback spot with a side which still has space CAP money for 2020 and a very much larger CAP space in 2021. Top teams don't stay top for ever. Roosters, Melbourne, Souths and Broncos will begin their downward spiral in 2020 and into 2021.

Broncos are already on the slide and I don’t think Souths can be up there forever either, but Roosters & Storm will always be in the mix, imo.

If true that is very arrogant action for him to take and sign or no sign Wests tigers will be the big losers (again).
