They have basically rorted the comp for years. The storm systematically cheated and all the head honchos kept their jobs. The NRL has never caught a single cap cheat…every single case they have “punished” has been brought to them by others. It is a joke.

One of Greenberg's favourite responses right there; "I can't act on something unless it's put in front of me". Look the other way and pretend it isn't happening.

Remember when that bloke got caught in the hotel room with $700,000 in a suitcase and evidence of positive blood tests from a half dozen Roosters players on his phone? Apparently some new aged kook had taken the samples for some herbal type tests unbeknownst to the club doctor and most had elevated testosterone levels. It was all meekly explained away with some BS story about naturally occurring blah blah blah and no one ever asked any more questions. This was at the time the NRL was seriously investigating links between certain organised crime figures and players due to fears over gambling on games. Nothing ever happened. Nothing ever will happen. They're the Roosters.

A completely unsubstantiated rumour from someone on Zero Tackle I know nothing about, but interesting reading if nothing else:

TwentyOne January 7, 2020 at 2:54 pm
I hear the roosters have offered Bronson Xerri a new apartment at 30% below market value in negotiations to poach him from the Sharks.
I hear Latrell will be at Souths training next Monday with Johnston sadly off to the Tigers
I hear the Bulldogs have offered The Fox big money to divert him away from Souths
I hear The roosters will have 2 premierships stripped from them plus massive fines and cap restrictions by mid 2020 if investigations are proven correct. Big media release before season commencement.

I could live with all that if roosters get stripped of their premierships

That would be the karma bus I have been waiting to hit Bondi for years, I would literally crap my daks with excitement if those cheating chooks got caught doing what everyone knows they are doing

The problem is, as it has always been, how to prove it.

A club friend selling a condo for 600 000 that has a market value of 900 000 is not illegal. He can just say he wanted a quick sale.

They have basically rorted the comp for years. The storm systematically cheated and all the head honchos kept their jobs. ***The NRL has never caught a single cap cheat...every single case they have "punished" has been brought to them by others.*** It is a joke.

The new man in charge, Vlandy's is legit though (I know of him through racing) and he is the type who actually would go after a club like Easts.

Might be a whistleblower with the initials LM.

If JAC does end up at the dogs then I would be happy to take Jayden Okunbour off them - thought he was a sensation last year untul he got injured and Madge was interested before he re-signed with dogs - but with Montoya, Reimis Smith, Meaney and Okunbour plus JAC they would have way too many wingers

No way

Now, why would a bloke with initials LM risk losing, for example, his two premiership rings? Sorry, there's a buzzing in my ear .... You mean Cam Smith was never stripped of his GF Rings, just the Club eh? Thanks, Scoop!

There was an article in the SMH property section about Angus Chrichton’s purchase at Rose Bay. Look at what he paid and then do a search for similar properties at the same price, the cupboard is bare.

Well Jai Arrow looked settled in at Titans training. Souths had that amount budgeted for Arrow in 2020. ??

Latrell Mitchell will meet with Wayne Bennett to facilitate a move to the Bunnies — and there’s been a stunning development with Jai Arrow.

Latrell Mitchell will reportedly meet with Souths coach Wayne Bennett in the next few days to work out how to facilitate a move to the Rabbitohs. Mitchell was granted leave by the Sydney Roosters to stay away from pre-season training on Sunday night, and it’s widely believed he’s played his last game for the Bondi glamour club.

The Daily Telegraph reports Mitchell wants to play under Bennett, a seven-time premiership-winning coach renowned as a mentor who players love to play for. The report said the Rabbitohs’ focus was securing an early release for Gold Coast forward Jai Arrow to join the club next season, which could be finalised within 24 hours.

News of Mitchell’s signing being a step closer comes despite Bennett saying last month that he wasn’t interested in bringing Mitchell to the club. Bennett has previously denied an interest in a player only to sign him weeks later, as was the case when securing James Roberts from the Brisbane Broncos."We will make a decision based on what money we’ve got left over and what we can and can’t do.”

But in a stunning development, the Telegraph reported that “Arrow’s release from the Titans will be finalised in the next 24 hours.” If Arrow’s release is granted, that means the Rabbitohs could turn their attention to Mitchell, who might be happy to sign a cut-price, one-year deal worth $400,000 at Redfern — having rejected a $1 million contract at Wests Tigers and an $800,000 offer at the Roosters.

One roadblock to the Bunnies securing Mitchell on a cut-price deal is that it would have to be cleared by the game’s salary cap auditor, who will determine his true market value.

It’s understood NRL auditor Richard Gardham has final discretion to determine market value using a list of comparative players to reach his decision.

NRL’s salary cap laws state a player cannot be registered on a contract worth considerably less than his market value.

Sick to death of Fox Sports and their click bait crap. The worst click baiters on the internet with the melodramatic “stunning development on Jai Arrow”. Being released a year early. Wow, no one saw that coming.

It is souths, they will just sign off on it, if we tried to register Latrell for $400k we would get rejected and fined

Just like they rejected Matulino’s medical retirement the way everyone said they would.....oh wait.

Huge test for NRL credibility. Let’s see what transpires

The NRL's credibility has been previously tested and the result was negative

It beggars belief that a sum of 400k is poured out in the media as a payment for LM to play one season at Souths...we all know his worth as a NRL player and rep...800k/1mil would be his realistic value, but they keep saying the same old same old...all smoke and mirrors to me,there is something going on in the background that we are not privy to and as I said earlier I will wait until closer to season start when most things will surface and hopefully the truth comes out...
I still don't discount Bennett having something up his sleeve,he has been know to deny things and then they appear as previously stated....patients guys and girls..
