Haha Latrell what a douche.

Who is running off telling half the journos that the deal is done, then the other half of the journos that he's knocked back the Rabbits first offer after an aromatherapy massage straight from Rusty Rabbits himself.

I've said this before, whoever is sowing the disinformation on Latrell's behalf is a genius, he has every media pundit pecking around like a stoned hen. He should get into the spy business.

As I have stated before , we pulled the offer off the table some time ago. Fans deserve to have players playing for the club that they love and want to Play for and will do anything for and we have 27 signed in the top 30 of them at the club at the moment with 3 more to go

He said as much in the Q&A with Webster. Some on here thought he was speaking in riddles, but to me, he was pretty clear...there is no offer for LM, unless he gets in touch with us...

We gave the bloke 2 offers and he tried to stall us so he could use our offer to go everywhere else except the Tigers...we were the anchor contract that he could bargain with. As others have already stated, he got his money and he didn't sign...that's quite telling in and of itself.

Pascoe and the others involved have been around the game long enough to know when they are being played. Make no mistake, this wasn't a one man decision...it would have been discussed at length before making the decision to pull the offer.

Now...I'm very interested in how things will play out if Souths can't stump up the cash he wants.

He's literally knocked about $400k - $500k off his contract for 2020 by pursuing Souths, and it looks like a similar amount for 2021. $800k to $1 mill over 2 years is a big amount to leave on the table over a short career.

Perhaps we're not done yet?

It appears he has been tempted by the carrot we dangled in front of him, then removed.

And that is in your own words and I don't recall anyone here saying that he doesn't fill that role well, nor give his all to it. Surely all supporters don't want a fill in playing at the back, unless of course he is doing just that, filling in.

Mbye was meant to be the fullback, Thomo filled in and then replaced Mbye at the role For the remainder of the season, how is someone saying he is an awful fullback NOT saying he didn’t fill the fullback role well?
Saying he is an awful fullback implies that he filled the role terribly.
IMO, he played well, added some X-Factor and showed his pure class as a footballer.
Yes I said he was a fill in, that is because he was, by all means, I’m not saying he should be our long term fullback, just saying that he filled the position when asked in a pretty decent fashion, now ppl want to compare him to other specialist fullbacks, and label him the worst fullback in the NRL, it’s Disrespectful, immature and just ridiculous.

Yes he is a fill in! Going into a season with 50% of your spine players being fill ins shows poor planning and is a recipe for a wooden spoon!

That’s irrelevant to what I initially said.

As you have said he is a fill in at fullback, that means he is not a good fullback, if he was a good fullback than he wouldn't be a fill in he would just be a fullback!

Your logic is laughable.

It is terrible that we are heading into the season with Thompson as our fullback is all that I am saying! It was an area we needed to improve, we had the money and we still have Thompson playing there who will try is best but is at his ceiling in the position!

How would you know what Corey's ceiling is ?

Corey mad 100 tackle breaks in 2019
How many did Latrell make 79
A bit more support play for Corey and we may have scored a few more try's
I was on the sidelines when Corey out paced Dane Gagai to score a long range try so he has the pace
His only real short coming is his height when contesting the ball
If we have Momirovski and Johnston back helping him this year we may go ok in that area
This is a team sport
We need to work together as a team and help each other out
What ever it takes

No wonder we find it hard to sign players at our club
With SOME supporters NOT ALL on here constantly bagging our own players who have given thier blood sweat and tears for this club copping a relentless bagging
Who he reads this would want to come here

Not directed at any individual as this seems to be wide spread on here

JAC should be our priority.

Contract still not signed off on yet & hasn't been approved by NRL, but what a gronk if these reports are correct. Risking his families future tells me he's just a selfish little boy. His purported upgrade next year (in Souths' favour apparently) is dependent on who they can shift to accommodate his highness - teammates who have been shopped around while on holiday & without their knowledge. Easts have been home for him since he was 16, they wanted to pay him $800,000 this year - instead he rinses them for $116,000 while he goes fishing - then agrees to a contract with the enemy, for $200,000 less then what Easts originally offered him, zero guarantees - you can't make this up. Latrell could have set his young family up for life and then moved to Souths later in his career. All it takes is 1 injury and he's yesterday's news, crazy.

And to think he went to market to make "more" money for his family...it doesn't add up

Take into account, too many advisors and suddenly it all adds up. 'Listen mate the roosters are short changing you, you're worth more than that etc etc.
Same advisors, 'Nah mate don't go to the Tigers have you heard what Matto said?'
Bottom line is, he's a young, easily lead bloke and maybe not the swiftest.

Blokes advising him aren’t any swifter!!

Without doubt.

lol That wasn't a slight on him, Thompson may be the player that has got the most out of his natural talent that I have ever seen wear a Wests Tigers jersey. He is all heart and gives 100% every time he enters the field and I respect him as much as anyone in our team! His issues for a modern day fullback are that he is small and does not posses a passing game. These 2 things limit what he can achieve as a fullback in the modern game and what he can provide our club in the position!

I have seen some beauties over my long years but this outcome takes the cake. Kindergarten stuff .. bloody unbelievable.
And to finish the trifecta ..... just what damage to our brand has been done by actions of the likes old Cleary, Matterson and now Mitchell.

Be a bit like having a baby to save a relationship...just masking the problem. A whole year of hearing he’s negotiating with other clubs, drama will follow till he signs long term..

Happened to DWZ too apparently. He was keen to come here and only signed with the Dogs for half a season because we weren't in a great position to sign him at the time, and Penrith wouldn't release him to us anyway. Resigned a further 3 years with the Dogs because he actually liked playing there, so it is possible.

Just imagine if we had signed DWZ, then we wouldn't even have been involved in all the Latrell hoo ha, as there would be no need for us to chase him! Would've saved us a lot of heartache and frustration. Ah sliding doors!

From Souths version of The Pom

Quote: However the Rorters are vindictive and deceitful, They have hit Latrell with nearly $180k in claims for a release, this includes the $116k plus a new bill of approx $60k which was meant to be paid by them 18 months ago. It’s the compensation payment to his former manager that the Rorters promised to pay if he changed over to Rushton and re signed with them. They held it secretly for 18 months and delivered it today in a legal document. They are snakes. He also has $55k to pay out his current manager. All these bills he is required to pay,

Latrell hasn’t played a game at fullback since 2016. There’s an obvious reason for it. Also everyone just assuming he will be great there. Imo he doesn’t have the ticker or mental focus for 80 mins to be an elite fullback. Sure he’s gonna have spectacular moments cause the kid is a talent. But at what cost for those few moments a year.

Latrell Mitchell rejects South Sydney’s first offer, hopes to seal deal within days

Despite being highly impressed by South Sydney co-owner Russell Crowe’s pitch at a private dinner, Latrell Mitchell has knocked back South Sydney’s first official offer. SEE THE TABLED DEAL HERE.

He got the Hollywood treatment but not cash.

Latrell Mitchell rejected the Rabbitohs offer after an evening with Russell Crowe was not enough to convince the star centre to accept a cut-price deal to join South Sydney.

Mitchell took just over an hour to knock back the Rabbitohs’ first official offer after the club tabled a deal worth $1.4m over two years.

Watch over 50 sports LIVE on Kayo! Stream to your TV, mobile, tablet or computer. Just $25/month, cancel anytime. New to Kayo? Get your 14-day free trial & start streaming instantly >

A one-year deal with a one-year option in his favour, the written offer fell “well-short” of what Mitchell had been expecting following a $1.2m a year bid from the Wests Tigers.

The knock back came less than 24-hour after Mitchell travelled to Coffs Harbour with his father Matt for a private dinner with Crowe.

Wined and dined by the Academy Award winner on the 400-acre estate in Nana Glen, Mitchell was highly impressed by both Crowe and his pitch.

It is understood Crowe, a South Sydney co-owner, spoke about the Rabbitohs’ proud history before telling Mitchell he wanted him to be part of the club’s future.

While no financial figures or terms were discussed, Mitchell was ready to become a Rabbitoh when he left.

The meeting with Crowe came just a day after Mitchell finally sat down with Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett to discuss football.

But in yet another twist, Mitchell’s manager Matt Rose rejected the Rabbitohs on Friday morning after the club made their official offer.

Mitchell conceded his future remained undecided after confirming his meeting with Crowe.

“It was fantastic to meet Russell Crowe, he is a generous host and very passionate about the Rabbitohs but the truth is I’m yet to decide my future,” Mitchell said.

“I’ve got a number of things to weigh up and I hope to be able to announce my new club in the coming days.’’

Mitchell remains hopeful of coming to terms with the Rabbitohs after Rose made a counteroffer to the club on Friday night.

Asides from coming up with a revised deal, the Rabbitohs may also have to compensate the Roosters with claims the club is demanding as much as $100,000 for a release.
Excused from pre-season training earlier this week, Mitchell declared his career with the Roosters was over.

“Nothing has been made official yet,’’ Mitchell wrote in an Instagram post.

“But my stay at the Roosters as come to an end. On to the next chapter wherever it might be.’’

“Russell Crowe is a generous host and very passionate about the Rabbitohs but the truth is I’m yet to decide my future”

“I want to thank the Sydney Roosters for everything they have done for me and my family,’’ Mitchell wrote.

“I cannot describe the way I feel write know but just wanted to let everyone involved with my career so far that I am grateful to you all.

“To the fans, thankyou. It wouldn’t be a game without you.’’

The South Sydney rejection has left the door ajar for the Tigers to make an 11th hour play.

If he is asking for a bigger offer from south's and doesn't get it we should tell him to get stuffed if he rings us as he will only do a matto once south's get more salary cap space

"Don't ask what you can do for your club, ask what your club do for you" (Lattrell Mitchell).

One of the other posters hit the nail on the head . WT shouldn’t go for him if Souths deal falls over , as it appears that’s his preferred destination. if he signs he will do could possibly try get out of his contract once Souths have the cap space
