Latrell hasn’t played a game at fullback since 2016. There’s an obvious reason for it. Also everyone just assuming he will be great there. Imo he doesn’t have the ticker or mental focus for 80 mins to be an elite fullback. Sure he’s gonna have spectacular moments cause the kid is a talent. But at what cost for those few moments a year.

So not worth signing...?

One of the other posters hit the nail on the head . WT shouldn’t go for him if Souths deal falls over , as it appears that’s his preferred destination. if he signs he will do could possibly try get out of his contract once Souths have the cap space

That’s stupid

He’s a gamble who ever gets him. At FB and just in general

From Souths version of The Pom

Quote: However the Rorters are vindictive and deceitful, They have hit Latrell with nearly $180k in claims for a release, this includes the $116k plus a new bill of approx $60k which was meant to be paid by them 18 months ago. It’s the compensation payment to his former manager that the Rorters promised to pay if he changed over to Rushton and re signed with them. They held it secretly for 18 months and delivered it today in a legal document. They are snakes. He also has $55k to pay out his current manager. All these bills he is required to pay,

It's getting to the point now where he won't be fit when he takes the field, regardless of where he ends up.

Exactly! I’m starting to think that he may not even play rugby league at all this year. His interest in actually getting into it seems to be non-existent.

True or not but the question has to be asked is why NRL clubs are getting involed in player disputes with their managers and offering to pay the expense of the player parting with agent? We have now heard of 2 examples - both with Mitchell- wonder how widespread it is in the game. Another example of the mess players, agents and the clubs are putting the NRL brand in- surely the NRL should act on this and ban said interations. An agent is hired and paid by players via commission- it is their mess to sort out, any involvement of clubs should be banned and fined if discovered.

But that would require the NRL to anticipate potential problems and proactively cut the potential problem off.
NO CHANCE!!!!!!

Yes and no...

I see your point, but DWZ basically negotiated with us, was all set, wanted to be with his Kiwi coach...

...and the moment we did not have enough ca$h he signed for the Dogs...

I have yet to meet a Dogs fan lamenting "yeah, but he wanted to be a Tiger".

This is the professional era, they go where they can get paid...

This is how I view it

If he comes to us yay

If he goes to souths yay

If he goes to souths and then misses finals double yay

As I have stated before , we pulled the offer off the table some time ago. Fans deserve to have players playing for the club that they love and want to Play for and will do anything for and we have 27 signed in the top 30 of them at the club at the moment with 3 more to go

He said as much in the Q&A with Webster. Some on here thought he was speaking in riddles, but to me, he was pretty clear...there is no offer for LM, unless he gets in touch with us...

We gave the bloke 2 offers and he tried to stall us so he could use our offer to go everywhere else except the Tigers...we were the anchor contract that he could bargain with. As others have already stated, he got his money and he didn't sign...that's quite telling in and of itself.

Pascoe and the others involved have been around the game long enough to know when they are being played. Make no mistake, this wasn't a one man decision...it would have been discussed at length before making the decision to pull the offer.

Now...I'm very interested in how things will play out if Souths can't stump up the cash he wants.

He's literally knocked about $400k - $500k off his contract for 2020 by pursuing Souths, and it looks like a similar amount for 2021. $800k to $1 mill over 2 years is a big amount to leave on the table over a short career.

Perhaps we're not done yet?

It appears he has been tempted by the carrot we dangled in front of him, then removed.

It seems that way.

At the very least we will force Souths to pay more for him than they want to.

That's a great plus, I didn't see it that way before. Our cap space is worth more by making others worth less.

I will say if LM goes to Souths, then I reckon karma will not let them win a premiership.

So with those figures, the bunnies pom is also stating that his 2020 contract at the chooks was $700k on the cap

See tigers fans, cheer up. Souffs can't even "win" when they are successful with the gladiator and Scott minto's dad.

The roosters have no fans and would have survived Chernobyl.

$116k for two months equals $696k per annum and matches the newspaper story posted earlier.

That’s stupid

That’s gold being call3e Stupid from the guy that makes up different accounts and copies rumours from, other sites and makes out like he has inside info and tight with clubs, like they would hand out info to someone who will spew it on a footy forum freely.

The Bunnies Pom again...

Mate I feel slightly responsible to the forum and I know the Mitchell camp and they are excited to join Souths and pushing hard. But they are a young team with little experience and have been totally ambushed with a grenade by a sophisticated unconscionable and unscrupulous organization. What these rats have done is very dirty and malicious, but there is a plan put together to combat them.

Yes I know their bid. Uncle nick will waive all costs saving Latrell 200k off the bat if he joins the Tigers. Plus they will offer 900k year one and $1m thereafter for four year contract.

I get what your saying but difference is in their case wt put up an maxing offer 2 months ago and didn’t even go to a meeting , whereas DWZ negotiating seemed normal and whilst dogs were not his initial preference it wasn’t a soap opera that dragged on for him to make a decision.
To me LM has wanted to go to Souths since start of 19 season and has been waiting for them to manoeuvre cap for 12 months
