What are all you people winging about.

If we are hopeless because of what happened today so are
Sharks
Bulldogs
Souths
Dragons
Warriors
Raiders - who despite winning oen easy game against Souths got flogged in their only real challenge and have a worse F/A

In fact look at the teams that failed to make the finals last year '
Sharks - who did Ok in the NRL
Broncos
Bulldogs
Panthers

Yet the Eels beat the Warriors in the final - we beat both teams in the NRL

Just be happy we have no injuries that is all that is important about the 9s

Exactly right,I reckon come round one some of the naysayers on here will have egg on their face,9s is just a hit out to see who is up to what,trials next and if the team doesn't win every trial then apparently they are hopeless as well….mostly these sorts of games are only a guage for the coaching staff......I wouldn't be worried until the result of round one,then we can dissect everything from the players,coaches,admin,ballboys and whoever else is part of our great club.....

The forum will be rocking with anticipation come round 1, especially if we have a couple solid hit outs in the trials. The 9's will be ancient history.

I'm not trying to be a downer or anything but what has the Club going for it this year ?

Who have we signed that will improve our chances of going one better than last year ? Idris :unamused:

Then we have players like Rankin , Naiqama , Lovett , Edwards who are seriously lucky playing at NRL level. Rankin is laughable :laughing: what an embarrassment .

So any injuries throughout the year what is the answer ? last year injuries were kind .

Top 8 ? No hope , all the teams that finished below us last year have improved Squads .

I don't understand what people are so upset about. If JT had of come out and said that we believe in the 9s as a bona fide tournament and will be doing everything in our powers to win it - then yes i would be peeved at the total lack of committment. But when he came out and said that they haven't trained for it, have no desire to win it and are more focused on the real comp - i for one am quite happy they just went through the motions.

If we seriously challenged the ''real comp'' year in year out..then yes, I can understand it.
But we suck at everything we play in just about….we are a poor team, poor club with a poor coach who really should be striving to get the best from his players....ahh forget it

So to all those people who are so desperately upset by this - come round 26 and we are running in our usual 10 th position with an outside chance of making the 8 - i'm expecting all of you to post that we are as usual in this predicament because we treated the 9s with such disdain.

I hardly think disappointment (disgust for mine) in today is being negative.

On the contrary, that the coach (and the club's management if they sanctioned the coach) can feel so entitled/arrogant to think they have a right to represent the Wests Tigers brand in such a negative and negligent manner, they shouldn't be in their positions.

Fans want positivity. They're desperate for it by now.

How the hell can a comp with $1m prize $ be Mickey Mouse?

Who doesn't want to win whatever and whenever they possibly can?

Who the hell is happy to lose anything (the realities of marriage aside)?

I don't care about how other clubs treat this. Besides, most clubs who 'don't care' win a lot more than us and at least look like they have a plan and the players to execute it however well.

We looked like we were told to go crack a few beers on halfway and have a farting contest.

The rest of us will watch for kicks amongst channel surfing and doing stuff in the yard.

Our attack at the 9's …sorry what attack, we just didn't seem or look like we had any plan or structure in attack. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come this season. If we are going to treat the 9's as a joke, then don't send players like: Ava, Sue, Brooks, Taylor Naiqama and Simona

It's ok to be annoyed about today, but why the panic? The people on the Titanic didn't even react like some of the responses here.

I didn't watch anything but if some think that this is a squad of making the 8 well they don't understand footy much just one-eyed supporters that can't see the reality with the Squad we have .

God help us if we looses Teddy or Moses for good chunks of the Season .

I would be happy if they had sent the u/20's squad if they had a dig. Due to the rules 1 of the top 5 players and 12 of the top 25 need to be sent.
I would be curious who were the 12 of our top 25 in that squad.
I would have liked to have seen them have a go and play with a bit of daring. Boring football and lack of effort does not reduce the risk of injury, blokes cop season ending injuries in contact free training drills. They are there, they might as well have a go.
Drop balls are a worrying sign, as there is no magic cure for this. Whenever someone pulls on the jersey, they should have some pride in it and should be having a go.

Thats fair enough but I can't cop the 'who cares' attitude.
If the club wants sponsors and fans money they need to do better.

If WT had a choice they wouldn't have gone - clubs have to send a certain number of top 25 players and at least 1 top 5 player. The NRL has got shafted in a deal for 5 years and then tells clubs who they have to pick to cover there behinds - and people say its not a mickey mouse comp.

Na they were all holding hands singing " Row Row your Boat "

9's footy is an opportunity for those fringe 1st Graders to make a claim for a position or show they have a hunger to impress and the up and comers to show some skill with more room on the field .

If JT instructed them to go out and play 1 out stuff and get through the games with no hunger about them even trying to win well JT is in the wrong Business he represents me as a fan and by people's posts it sounds like Today was an embarrassment.

For innsaneink to be highly critical of things and the direction the Club is going well that says alot about what happened out there Today and mind you i haven't seen anything.

JT doesn't represent you at all - as the coach he has targetted that the 9s is not important in the scheme of things. He told the fans this in an honest admission which other coaches who feel the same way failed to do. As much as you and a lot of others don't like what happened his head is not on the chopping block for failing at the 9s but will definitely be feeling the axe if he fails in the real comp.
