Live Game Discussion
The dolphins had strike players all over the field. The Tigers lack creativity and speed. Simkins needs to play longer minutes to allow Api to get some fitness, both him and Brooks looked unfit.
Early days yet , but some strike players needed in the backs.

I guess it's the Roosters v storm debate. Storm being super prepared never losing a round 1 under belemy or your Roosters building into the season. GC definitely storm and we still working on things

Im sorry, but this is a load of bullshit.
Expectations were high because the club has been telling us all off season how we have changed our gameplay and how the fans wont recognise the team on the field and blah, blah bloody blah.
The Titans were not a better team than us today. we took more runs (51 more), making more meters (300 more), breaking their line three times more than they broke ours (6-2). We had 5 times more offloads (20-4) and 40 less tackles (291-331). We also missed less tackles (33-47), and received three times as many penalties (9-3).
We easily took ground from them with our edge running and with the exception of our errors, we were the better team.
The reason we lost is because we do not have the class in the backs to turn all these good stats into points and we just dont compete for 80.
Also, spare me the excuses of "they've never played together" "everything is new to them" etc....The Dolphins displayed today what can be achieved when you put in during the offseason. If we were so worried about this, we would have put strong sides into the trials to let them get some game experience together.
We probably will get better to a degree but that doesnt take away from the fact that we lost at home again, to a team who werent great either and these losses are what keep the mid-low ranked squads out of the 8 come September.

Spot on, adding to your "they've never played together," we have signed some class players who just don't simply forget how to play just because they move to a new club. These guys regularly either currently or in the past used to land in origin and international squads and were asked to play with guys they didn't regularly play with.

The spending on the engine room paid off, they did their job, and as you say our backs once again failed to capitalise. More money needs be spent there. There's more problems there than just our halfback.

Totally agree

I didn’t think we would miss Tamou so much. All commentators saying how leaderless we looked, doesn’t say much for Brooks and Douehi

Surprise, surprise we still suck!

Thanks to Kayo, managed to watch every minute of every game this round. This competition will be very even. I'm baking less than 15 points difference between team 1 and team 17 this year.

We had 36 more tackles in their 20 than they did in ours. Most teams this week didn't even get 36 tackles in their opponents 20. Only Penrith had more than us (49 v 47).

We dominated the field position battle. Klemmer, Papali'i, Twal and Joe O all did their jobs in the middle. Staines was ok I thought - not remarkable but not poor. Api was a bit off his usual standard, but also fine.

The new recruits were not the problem. In fact, the biggest problem was the player who's played the most games for us - not surprise for guessing who but he wears the 7.

Totally agree , our stats were way better than theirs. error count is what killed us and stopped us from winning (earl in tackle count ) and not being able to ice the game when we could’ve. I’m waiting for at least the next 3 to 4 games before I judge how the season is looking — if we landed 2 conversions it would’ve been 14-22 take a chill pill guys!!!!!!
