Lucky to hang onto the result in the end. The two tries they did score were flukes, but they should've scored at least a couple that they bombed.

Thompson needs to go to the wing or reserves and Doueihi to fullback. Doueihi isn't a good ball player, at least yet, but at least the ball doesn't die with him like it does with Thompson. Joey and Nofa are our two most dangerous players, the ball MUST get to them in our backline shifts.

Overall I thought Walters was decent. Some costly errors, but the service was decent and he seemed to hold his own defensively. If Grant comes across next week that should be a boost, but I think Walters will fit in nicely to the 14 jumper. He's worth persisting with at hooker imo because the signs are promising.

Our pack was immense. Twal - Aloiai - Mikaele - Musgrove is gonna be handful for almost every team. Garner was a bit quiet - understandably so without Brooks while Leilua came on strong in the second half an impressed me. Taylor offers a lot as a modern lock - he can function as a 3rd prop at times, work on an edge or even ballplay at a pinch while possibly being our best ruck defender.

I think we're still a few weeks away from hitting stride given there's a few moving parts around. If the league is suspended after round 2, it should give us time to get Brooks back, Doueihi more time at 1. and Grant time to settle into the 17.

End of the day a win's a win even if it wasn't the best, but there were positive signs and enough to make me think that we're moving forward on a good trajectory.

His pure genius to play knocked out and lay over the ruck to slow the Dragons momentum in that set was HUGE. Try coming if not for that.

Sorry mate. Never said Nof was even bad, just that the edict he’s received this off season was to work on his defensive reads. Seemed okay tonight though ?

Definitely never one of the fella’s on here calling for our most destructive backline player to lose his place in the side.

I just think, in my most humble opinion, that once Jennings finds that white stripe we could really get some value out of him and it’s not like he’s a Josh Reynolds type player.

Corey couldn’t have played worse.

I actually agree with that. Doueihi is a better option than CT and Momi/Mbye negate Jennings ... I’d u trust either of those two on the wing.

I’ve seen too many incidents now utterly brain dead of Thompson to view in isolation.

First half was really frustrating because it was the same old rubbish - clearly the better team but making way too many mistakes.
Second half was promising with the most pleasing aspect being we closed out a game and managed the last 10 minutes well.
But lots of room for improvement. Saints beat themselves in the end but we played what was in front of us and got the points.

Yep, we were miles better than them apart from the first ten / last ten...Gifted them a try and a goal...incredibly fristrating.

Our pack was great...we got a Benji 10/10 game...

A loss would have been shattering as it would have been all on Cory and Jennings basic errors.
