It’s not rocket science. Half the side is being shopped around. Until this is sorted, expect the same results.

Absolute rubbish mate.

They are professional footballers and their to do a job. Most people who are playing for a contract or their future actually lift. Don't make excuses for players being incompetent.

I’m definitely not making excuses for it, but it’s what happens when there is uncertainty at the club. No one knows what’s going on. It’s easy as a supporter to say “well they should be professionals”. Maybe they should, but in these situations they aren’t. If you’ve got a coach who doesn’t want you, it would be pretty hard to get yourself up to try and win for him.

Don't win for the coach then. Show the coach what you can do, show other prospective employers what you can do. Do it for your own pride, for your teammates, maybe (bottom of the list) for your fans.

Disappointing, but truth is, I think the ability for a lot of these guys is below where we need it to be, hence why another cleanout is required.

It’s easy to say that as a supporter with an emotional attachment. For a player it’s a bit different.

True, I do think a lot of our team (backs especially) wouldn't make first grade in other sides though.

My summary:
I couldn't watch the game last night but did this morning. I was expecting worse than I saw.
Yes, there were a few individual mistakes which cost us dearly, but as a team we were competitive throughout.
I'm a big fan of Thompson but he has to wear the first try through lack or urgency - despite the pass/kick being extremely flukey.
Our kicking game was poor - two seven tackle sets and a number of long bombs which didn't challenge their catchers.
Sometimes you don't get the rub of the green - they certainly seemed to get an unhealthy amount of luck in much of what they did - and last night we could easily have been 0-0 at half time.
At 18-0 down we gave it a shot but scoreboard psychology is tough to beat and we never looked like running them down when they defended so well. I think they're a better team than most people think.
On individuals, I thought Robbie had one of his worst games I've seen. I love Robbie but I really hope Liddle is our starting hooker later this year and into the future.
Brooks wasn't at his best. He's got to stop throwing hospital passes. There was one time he had Rowdy in a hole but he ran and took the tackle.
Masters concerns me. He's been fairly ordinary this year and he's been held up more times than I can count. He's cost us a lot of points this year that a stronger centre would have provided.
I was surprised to see Nofo crop up in the 3-2-1 but after watching I can see why. He was one of our best. The tackle on Wighton was huge and the smarts to have his foot in touch was excellent. Most metres, great post contact, no missed tackles. Deserves his spot. Corey went well except for the dropped ball and first try.
Twal, Matterson, Aloiai and Liddle are the foundation of good future pack.

We weren't as bad as the score suggested. 20-12 would have been about right.

Always good to be able to watch later without the usual emotion!
I just thought the bottom line was they were fast at everything - defence, attack, passing, kick-chase etc.
Not really to do with natural speed, more their urgency, while we seemed to be playing with 'control' but it meant our attack was so pedestrian those intercepts were clearly read and taken.
Agree that the old blokes were slow. Thought Brooks wasn't at this best but heck his tackling has improved.
And agree with the pack foundation.

Mbye won't play fullback ever again, Matterson and Twal only good players in this team. Play Liddle, no point playing Farah anymore

Farah and Marshall are delusional if they think they can play next year, they are cooked now

It’s all about them getting to 300 at the cost of progress ...
WHICH FRIGGIN STINKS ?
We’re a laughing stock !

Madge wants to stamp his authority, then tell these 2 to have their farewell this year because there is no next year

They can have their farewell this week at Dooleys.

Wtf is dooleys lol

Irish club next to Lidcombe station. ?

It’s the Catholic Club - not the Irish Club lol

I knew it didnt sound right, I always get those 2 groups mixed up..:shamrock:

Was out there last night and it probably rated right up there in the crappy performances stakes. We looked old, slow and disinterested. The Raiders had plenty of luck but they deserved their luck. Their line speed in defence was brilliant.

I just get the feeling all the shopping talk has left them disheartened, although on last nights performance you would shop all but a couple.

I have seen this season after season, the mid year crash. Hard to see them beating anyone from here on in, but you never know. One thing for certain the eight is out the window yet again.

Fingers crossed Madge can move on the ones he wants and buy suitable replacements so we can least judge him on his own roster, although we said the same about every coach we have ever had.

As a long long time member I am starting to reach for the white flag

@BalmainJnr what’s enough is enough? What’s else is he gonna possibly do, we have gone through coach after coach, no difference. Easy to point your finger at the coach, but we have an established coach who has the resume to prove he’s a winner. It’s simply the players. We don’t have the players to make the finals. I’m aware that you all know that because we have been complaining about the squad we have for years now.

We need one marquee signing to set the ball rolling
Remember when Souths were a basket case then they signed Inglis ...
Won a Comp and been competing well ever since ( except there last 2 games)
But you know what I mean !

Pretty sure they latched onto a couple of genuine multi millionaires before that that had a thing or two to do with the whole turn around in their fortunes. I wish our wealthy ex sponsor would throw his loose change our way a little more. He could make all the difference. It baffles me why he doesn't open the wallet right up. Of course I'm not dismissing his contributions over the years with sponsorship.

The only way Triguboff would open his wallet would be if sheens were back as they were mates .
