Sheens statement articulates that the club are unified in its decision making and possibly averts any crisis.
We of all people should know how the media - including social media - can be significantly damaging and pose further threat or harm to our brand/operations(including recruitment), so it's good for PR management.

I appreciated the reference to Luke's team mates and family. It's especially gotta be hell for them and his words are also rather respectful to them IMO.

How much more harm could our brand experience?
We are already a laughing stock within the game and our recruitment department is disrespected/taken advantage of by all other clubs.
The only thing missing is an extremely well deserved spoon.
Next year…

Maybe if you didn't focus on the thoughts of others it wouldn't be bothersome for you. There's also something wrong with the fact you've taken a swipe at my post because you can't control it.
I'd for once like to support my team without having to deal with negative and passive aggressive people.

…and I would like to see my club succeed.
Sticking by a halfback who has failed for 8 years consecutively is not going to achieve this.

Are you comfortable trying to bully a woman?
Why engage with someone who you clearly disagree with, for the simple sake of an argument?

hhahaha what a pissweak reply...
The sexist card eh?
pathetic

I would move brooks on and try and get Lachlan Ellias back from souths. He's stuck behind walker. Taft. Milford. He has a good kicking game and can defend for half the price brooks is on.

Wow coming out and saying Brooks doesn’t want to be coached by Madge is a huge statement.

Paper Talk...

In saying this Brooks is a good 1st grader with tons of Talent, however his decision making ability and vocal leadership is what has stopped him from becoming a Gun Half back in the NRL.

He needs to play with a organiser, I'm not sure AdamD is that man and I'm really looking forward to seeing Hastings.

I'd give him 1 more year to see if sheens makes a difference.

I think Brooks silence would be defening if he doesn't say anything about that statement

1 more year? Jesus how many times can people say that?
Over it!
Over Brooks!
Sayonara!

Dude give him a year with Tim Sheens. Finally has a decent coach.

Don't think souths would let him go if contracted

I think Brooks needs to move on, I personally have had enough of his mediocracy over two many years, enough is enough to many chances to show a consistant performance, he is not intelligent enough to direct our team TIME has shown us , But we wll put up with it for another year

I agree with Hugh1954. Brooks is not a team directer just like he is not a front row forward. That is not his strength in the game. He is a great runner of the ball. Its like when Peter DS Sterling( at SSO level) & Jason DS Taylor blamed Robbie for "taking over" the team calls. If Mitchell Pearce(in SOO) & Brooks dont have the skills to game manage what do you expect to happen when they are exposed? We move Robbie on & we get worse. Laurie Daley moves Robbie on & we lose the SSO. Some players, while good players are simply not leaders.

Surely it’s getting to the point now where people are accepting he’s not going anywhere. It’s crazy that it’s almost November, and only 2-3 weeks away from pre-season and there are STILL comments about how their preference would be to move him on and that the time has come to say goodbye, punt him etc.Surely by now it’s spam. No one has to like that he’s not going anywhere, but surely the time has come to stop fighting reality and not only accept he’ll be here, but will be prominent. starting at 7.

There are still plenty of opportunities for horse trading.
With a bit of luck this story isn’t complete yet.

I believe that Brooks will excel if he plays in the number 6 & in my opinion Douiehi will have to play centre when he gets back Brooks just needs to run more & leave the organisation to Hastings.
A spine of Hastings, Brooks,Laurie & Hodgson can be can be successful in getting us to the top 8

Good on Brooks for staying
Contrary to most people on this forum I think he still a capable player. Sure he had some crap games this year but name one player in the team that didn't - all players need to pick up there game not just him. In my view there are quiet a few players much much worse than him. You could go through pretty much the whole team and pick holes in them if you wanted to

Anyway Sheens has made his decision and one way or another you will have to live with it

Mwahahahaha EAT IT BROOKS HATERS! THE KING IS STILL IN THE BUILDING!!!

Can I ask why you think Brooks will excel at 6
Yes his running game is serviceable but he still has a very poor attacking kicking game, and no long pass in either direction. He's just so limited in his skillset

Brooks is a 6, no doubt about it. Back when we had Mitchell Moses (not that they ever played well together), he had the ability to spot opportunities from nothing, ala Cody Walker. He is unable to multi-task well in games. E.g. he'll be setting up shape and someone will throw an offload, oh no he's not paying attention. Put him at second receiver and I believe he will flourish.

It was perhaps an error of judgement to play that card.

It doesn’t take a man to point it out…

The only reasons Brooks will be at the Tigers next season is 2 points
1/ Douehi’s injury
2/ The freight would be to high for the remainder of his two years !

Not sure why. We’re bottom 4 with or without him, better to take that money and sign a player actually worth what he’s on.

We cld find a solution that wld perform equally well for a fraction of the price

A solution that combined with what we are paying him to leave would come in less than what he costs us to keep him?

He says that HE is not happy..so why shld we pay a significant premium for him to leave?

Where di he say that?

It's been said on his behalf in the media. Nothing stopping him jumping on social media to say it's rubbish. His silence is endorsement. You might expect undermining a coach by BJ Leilua, but it cannot be tolerated by our halfback.

What I have heard is there are members of Luke's family that would like him to move on but Luke himself wants to stay.

Of course he wants to stay. He has no accountability for his performance at the Tigers. He's the worst performing regular 7 in the NRL and yet he gets picked every week. Has other people moved around to accommodate him, and yet he never goes and improves in key areas he lacks in

If he wants to stay he needs to publicly back the coach. I've never been in the 'hate Brooks' club, but man am I sick of players undermining the coach/club.

What’s backing the coach publicly going to accomplish. There was a time Farah backed JT, which was clearly rubbish. Anything that is said publicly carries little weight.

We just went through very public turmoil over who our coach will be, and we decided to stick with Madge. It is just not good enough to then have it in print that Brooks doesn't want to play under Madge, and for Brooks not to deny that. Even if it's just for appearance!

I don’t think he’s under any more obligation to publicly back Maguire than any other player.

It is when his manager is feeding journalists the information in question
