I’m a big critic of Brooks but I thought he was quite good yesterday. The problem more was our backs are too slow and our forwards got rogered.

He tried hard yesterday but his kicking game sucked compared to previous weeks ..

Definitely wasn't as good as other weeks, few were too deep or too short.

Mbye seems to be the key to Brooks.

Personally I’d be hanging on to Mbye next year. Not like there’s a heap of talent on the market.

I thought Brooks was our best player. Moses was really good but he can play.

He was good but his kicking game last night was the “old brooks”. Bombs weren’t high enough or long enough to give us any chance.

It was a result of our pack getting bashed / intimidated by a top 4 team, the last month we’ve been getting over the top in the forwards, I don’t think there was a lot that could have been done in yesterday’s circus

Swap the halves from both teams and it’s a similar result

Oh come on that is some insane bias right there. Moses ran rings around Brooks last night. He was sooo much better it's not even close!
Brooks kicking game was atrocious and he could barely create anything. If we ever put on pressure on them in a set, his kicks gave them relief.
Yes, the pack were useless, Liddle was terrible, but Brooks was awful.

You just know you couldn’t wait to stick the knife in after yesterday’s loss lol.

If you read my earlier post I mentioned I thought Brooks and Moses were about even in the 1st half, but Moses schooled him in the 2nd for obvious reasons.

Dude I gave him credit for last few weeks. He was our best player last week and I truly hoped he'd keep it up.

I am not after the guy, just calling it as it is. Anyone who calls out Brooks gets vilified here?
Grow up man.

If we sing his praises for the last 3 weeks then we can also call it for what it is when he doesn’t play well. He had an eternity to kick those bombs and kept landing them 10metres from their try line. People can still be brooks supporters and call a spade a spade.

What?

You cracked it when I mentioned if you swap halfbacks for both teams the result is similar ? I don’t even see the lie in that.

Do you think we win if Moses plays for us?

No deal yet, a lot of posters talk as if he is gone but I would be keeping him,

**He'll be free to play only a fine for his lift.**

Playing with more effort, confidence and passion than I've seen him play with since 2018.

Thanks Josh.
Honestly thought he turned up to play yesterday.

I thought he got really frustrated, usually he is pretty cool with his display of emotion, but yesterday he let his frustrations show. I thought he tried really hard, but a combination of game management by the officials along with inexperience and “dumbness” from some of our team, made it very difficult for us.

Brooks is obviously a confidence player and it seems Mbye knows how to talk to him and keep him focussed. His kicking game went from abysmal for years, to spot on with Mbye at 6, back to abysmal within a week.

His bombs in the opposition twenty that weren’t high enough or long enough has nothing to do with the forwards, it’s all on him. Those kicks were very disappointing.

I didn't see this. Those bombs were well placed. The issue is that Waqa Blake really attacked them.

It's very weird and probably not a great thing considering Mbye while solid is no world beater and has injury problems with his knees a lot.

No chance. Moses was very good in a team where his forwards were on top. I think Brooks is just as good as Moses and he is much more likable.

Maybe because Mbye is a half decent 5/8 as I have said get a top shelf 6 and Brooks can shine . Its the 3/4/6 that's the problem !

Every bomb was way too short. Brooks is not sharp enough with his skills at all.

So maybe we shouldn’t rush pushing Mbye out the door? Yes, he is expensive, but unless we can get better he should see out his contract.

Brooks had no options with most of those kicks, we were not going forward, and they were to get us out of our end zone. Our forwards did not set a platform, he was playing defence most of the game.

I agree with @aturkey, Luke does not have a long kicking game, his bombs are one dimensional and generally go straight down the oppositions throat.

I like how he's starting to develop those little jab kicks to the edge when we're 20-30 out, but unfortunately his long kicking game is so poor that it ends up putting undue pressure on our pack/defense and we rarely recover.
