You put Brooks in one of the top teams like Storm or Roosters & you will see the difference he is not the problem.
Brooks is on par with Brodie Croft… he would have been punted.
Let's not be silly now. Brodie Croft is another thing entirely.
Come on ... looking at them they could almost be brothers.
I put Brooksy between him and the non performing Ash Taylor.
The thing is though, if the club was to move him on, Brooks would get another gig. Croft hasn’t.
Truth is no7 is a very difficult position these days..yr expected to lead the team around the field, but also take on enormous athletes constantly targetting you in defence.
There seems to be either the really "good"7s ..Cleary/DCE/Reynolds /Hughes/Cook/Pearce/Walker and maybe a few others who are emerging...and then there are the fringe dwellers like Brooks/Taylor/Flanagan/Deardon and Croft who have been found wanting in one of the above areas
The difference is all the other fringe no7s who have struggled to establish themselves have been punted by their respective clubs, with many losing high $$ contracts in the process..and being virtually unemployable
but we extend Brooks and increase his salary regardless??
And ***as weve hired his immediate and long term (hopefully) replacement,***I wouldnt be standing in Brooks way if another club wanted to take him
Win/Win
None of you blokes think it might be a good idea to see how this Hastings bloke actually goes in the NRL before we ship Brooks off?
8 years of constant Brooks failure not enough for you?
I have zero problem with Brooks being replaced by someone better. Is Hastings better? How would we know?
This is the thing, at least for me. I’ve been labeled a Brooks fanboy, and the truth is I have no issue with him being moved on as long as there is a better replacement. If we had signed Reynolds or someone of that calibre, I’d personally pack his bags. Some are wanting to pack his bags over Jackson Hastings though, which is hilarious. I mean, at least aim higher.
