Luke Lewis leaving Sharks....

Blair over Anasta any day of the week.
Both dead wood though, future looks good without em.

Have heard Lewis sidelined himself from a few games that cronulla were keen for him to play.

I highly doubt that , he has carried injuries into games for years

One tough son of a gun Lewis is

Lewis just being at the WTs will benefit the young guys immensely,if he starts or plays off the bench would not matter, his experience and professionalism will ruboff on the younger players…

I know a lot of my forum friends don't always agree on things all the time, however if Luke was to come here you could not put a price on the standard of his commitment during games and at training.....

You don't get to rep if you have nothing to offer....

This is one reason I'd like to see him in our colours for a few years.
He is one guy who leads by example and his work ethic (along with Farah's) would have to rub off on the younger forwards.
If happy gives a NSW player a wrap that's enough for me!

Happy, it was noted at the WTs that Blair had a very positive input to the younger guys playing prowess, irrespective of what people thought of him as a player.

Who told you that ? Best news so far this year Blair ending his holiday at Concord.

If it was the best news how come we still don't seem to have any additional money to buy a decent player?

Because of the incompetence and mismanagement of the salary cap by Warren McDonnell and Grant Mayer which includes SOO money for Brooks, Moses, Galloway, Moltzen and Lawrence.

He means the type of money they're on would be money Origin players earn.

Oh ok, thanks GNR. I thought he meant SOO incentives which only Galloway would have been entitled to so far.

I remember hearing that Moses and Brooks were signed on $400,000 a year but not to sure if that was each or combined. If they're on $400k each then I'd hope they start delivering on their potential in 2015, otherwise Mayer should have a lot to answer for..

Moltzen, Lawerence and Galloway are nearing the end of their contracts (2015 for Moltzen and 2016 for Galloway/Lawerence). I'm assumming that has alot to do with Taylor's comments in regards to entering the transfer market in 2017 and not wasting salary cap space on quick fixes.

You'd assume all 3 are contracted on around the $500k mark as was Blair, so that's around $2 million at Taylor's disposal to make some quality signings heading into 2017.

2 second rowers and a centre as well as a few key resignings and i could see the 2017 season as the year. In the mean time we're going to have to rely on our juniours and a few base salary signings to at least be in finals contention for 2015-2016

Short term pain for long term gain.. ?

The gain better feel bloody good because I'm getting sick and tired of all this damnn pain !

Weren't Galloway and Lawrence test/SOO players
When we resigned them?

I think that Brooks and Moses would of only got 400 k a season if they meet certain criteria or KPI's

Who knows exactly what that criteria was , but was probably based on games played , results , try assists , completed tackle percentages ,possibly rep honours etc

Lawrence had played for Australia, hadn't played Origin but he was well on his way. He was one of the hottest properties at the time we re-signed him, which makes me laugh at how short some people's minds are. He did his hip literally 3 or 4 days after re-signing. Great timing for him to sign when he did, cos he probably wouldn't have got the money he did If he didn't sign when he did.

Such a pointless injury to. We were up by about 20 against the Raiders, in the last 5 mins and he took the first hit up off the scrum. People heard him screaming from the stands. Such a waste. He'd be the no 1 centre in the game now if it wasn't for that injury.

Tuiaki and Dwyer fall into the same category GNR

We wouldn't have a care in the world if Dwyer was still with us in the back row 😢

I don't think we got a glimpse of just how good Dwyer could be. I think he was still a bit of an unknown tbh, but a tonne of potential. We did see just how good Lawrence was going to be. Heartbreaking.

Lewis is very unlikely to leave Cronulla. He and Sonia love it in the shire and life after football looks likely at the sharks.
Wish he was a tiger, love him as a player.

Are you sure…the OP states it as fact...

Not 100% sure, but I know that they are settled where they are and have long term plans that involve him being with the sharks into post footy. But players don't always have a say in this I guess.

The Shire's a hole. Nothing appealing about it at all to me. Being there reminds of the South Park smug alert ep.
