Luke Lewis..

Would be more than happy to pay overs for him for 2 years.
Exactly what we need to bring Eisunhuth, Marsters, Suli, Twal, Felise and the like along AND he is still playing very good quality NRL level football week in week out.

McQueen is an 80-minute player.
If ET moves to back-row, he is an 80-minute player.
McQueen and ET would play the whole game needing no sub.

That's not going to be the case every week. Playing 80mins in the backrow every game is a good way to get burnt out.

The roosters have Aubuson, Cordner, Takiaho or what ever his name is, plus a few other backrowers on contract.
Lewis would start for us but at the chooks probably not, doesn't usually stop the roosters hoarding though.

We already have McQueen and Lawrence as experienced back-rowers.

I am not against this signing, it would be great, but I think money can be better spent elsewhere for dynamic game-breakers.

Lawrence is not an experienced backrower at all.

Ok, experienced player.

We would only sign Lewis to play 80 minutes in our back-row.

McQueen is an 80-minute player.
If ET moves to back-row, he is an 80-minute player.
McQueen and ET would play the whole game needing no sub.

If ET stays in the middle, we have Aloiai, Lawrence, Eisenhuth who can each play long minutes.

It would take big $$$ to take him away from the Shire and to beat Chooks and Manly. What I am saying is that we already have a back-row that can play long minutes and we would be paying big bucks for him to be on our bench or reserve grade.

Lewis would be the first edge forward picked in our team, the rest would have to work around him.
Our back row has no depth and is low on quality at the top end, even with the addition of McQueen.

Agree 100% but IO have anasta in mind whilst I type

Anasta was garbage years before he came to us.

Lewis is still on top of his game.

Not comparable IMO mate.

Dont get me wrong, I would love him here.

Just for the right $$$

He'll command good coin, won two premierships at two different clubs. Played every position except for front row and half back IIRC. I agree we shouldn't go into hock to pick him up but we're mad not to have a tilt at him either.

Lewis has done it all - literally. He will take significantly less to stay at the Sharks, and much less to go to the Roosters than to come to us.

Id say we would have to offer 2-3x more for him to even consider coming to us.

Here's hoping his inner westie kicks in and tells Politis to punch it up his arse

He nearly came to us before.

I'd offer him Braith Anasta Dollars as it's simply too much of a risk…

He's in great form and seems to have bugger all injuries, but remember Matt Ballin was the bionic man for Manly for years - If I'm not mistaken broke Jason Taylors Record for consecutive games in a row, and look what happened to him.

It would be a hesitant yes at the right money for me.

How good was it watching Lewis outpace Latrell, the latter is such an arrogant twit, so funny that he couldn't run Lewis down.

In fact when he did start to reel him in finally, Lewis kicked hard the last 10, and got in by about 2 lengths, Latrell trying to punch the ball out as he crossed.

Ballin was broken when he came to us though.

Yes True.

However like most on here, and some may not admit it, I honestly thought he'd come good.

Ben, all those you have named are substandard to Lewis. Make no mistake, he would be the first backrower selected for us.

It's hard to run too fast carrying a head that big and a giant chip on your shoulder.

No wonder he couldn't catch him.

Lewis has played halfback, almost all of 2004 I think, he was playing halfback on the highlights on FOX from 2004 when Penrith came from behind to beat us, I know it was 2004 because I saw Sattler in the vision, Lewis is a true professional and we would be mad not to have a decent crack at getting him here.

Sorry, maybe it's hooker.

In any case, he's bloody versatile.

Lewis would be the "exception to my rule" of not buying players over 30 he would be ideal for our pack.Far better than anyone we have. however i cant see him coming to us
