"Madge has changed nothing": Tamou

The thing that worries me is there is no shape to our defence or attack - especially attack. It is one thing to play bad and lose a trial it is another to look clueless and lose

That’s the worst part about the whole thing. They have looked in the mirror and said “we need to try harder and we will be fine” rather than saying “what can we do differently? What are those teams doing that we are not?”

The interview was the worst thing I saw last night. Yep the on field performance was below where it needed to be but if that is what they are thinking off the field it’s worse than I thought.
Agree - it's about doing something different. We can't do the same things as last year or the years before that - it simply didn't work.

Wow - there are a lot of burnt supporters on this forum - including me. Last year in particular has left scars and we are all getting gloomy after one trial performance. I don't blame anyone as last night's game brought back some ordinary memories from last year. People are already starting to get personal with their comments. I, for one, am going to try to take a breath and wait to see if there is anything different coming this year. If we are stinking after 8 rounds, Madge will be gone and at least there will be something different to look forward to. If Madge gets the team going in a different direction there will be a positive flow on effect and we can all have a smile.

Don't you believe Sheens would notice players not responding to the intense style pre-game dressing shed rant? Would it not be reasonable for him to tap Maguire on the shoulder to let him know he needs to change things up with his pre-game addresses? What exactly is it about modifying the pre-game address to reduce the intensity to try for a better outcome that offends you? I'm interested to learn because at this stage of the pre-season things aren't rosy.

Yeh I noticed brooks was pondering about going to Bali when Madge was ranting.
I think players these days need to be cuddled and maybe sung to, you know, something soothing like a lullaby.

Totally disagree 🤣
Only joking

I would hope Madge has changed something because our current trend has been downwards lol

With two new assistants in I'm sure there's been changes at training, hopefully it's for the better. Tamou is just trying to say it's on the players to take responsibility but I hear that every off season
Have seen and heard plenty on Cayless but nothing on Gardin… Is he still there?

Pretty uninspiring. On one hand you can say “its just a trial”. Because the same way you can’t put stock into trial wins, you also can‘t really take much away from losses. Having said that, tonight wasn’t much different to what we saw for all of 2021. And I haven’t been enthusiastic at all in the off season, so nothing has changed my stance.
I thought we did ok . We were playing a potentially top 4 side at close to full strength, while we were missing a few of our best. We dominated most of the first half and could easily have lead at halftime. Second half of trials is always a bit of a mess with lots of fringe players coming on and off.

I’m not going full chicken little just yet.
