Just listening to that. Agree completely.
Problem is I’m not confident he’s getting the say he should around player signings. Probably due to the mess Ivan created.
Yep, can't stand Kent but he's got this right. The irony is yesterday they were playing to celebrate the career of one of the toughest players you'd ever see and they showed none of the guts he showed week in and week out. In my opinion they are 5 imported players away from winning games on a regular basis and I can't see where they are going to come from.

The Panthers currently are undefeated at the top of the table yet only won 2 out of their first 10 games in 2019. Whilst the Tigers don't have the number of juniors at our disposal compared to the Panthers there are still some talented youngsters coming through the ranks.
What is needed is the purchasing of someone like Dale Finucane to bolster the pack along with the astute buying of several outside backs. The Tigers need footballers that compete like Finucane even if we have to pay above his market value given it is better to spend the money on someone you know will perform for every minute he is on the field. Sacking Maguire now will not solve our problem of attracting quality players but only reinforce the mantra that the Tigers are a basket case that changes coaches every couple of seasons.

Madge won’t get the teams in the semis , next year either and I think his limitations as a head coach has truly been exposed. And I don’t think he is capable of landing big fish that the young guys need to develop (bulldogs seemingly recruiting much better and apparently in box seat to get Brandon smith and they will be ahead of tigers next year )
In saying that I would keep him to complete the job on junior pathways and regenerating the squad . I would sack him next year to have a new coach to try entice some big names.
I also feel people don’t seem to understand how the NRL has screwed the non performing clubs with this ridiculous 30 man squad idea . Madge is limited on who he can actually bring in, as can only use players in top 30 and if they are not performing in reggies , he can’t do squat .
If we had the old 2nd tier salary cap and main salary cap . Clubs would have more depth and have ability to bring any young person having a stand out year to see if worth giving a nrl contract

Haven't always been the biggest fan of Paul Kent but gee it's hard to disagree with anything that was said there.
It hurts but it's true.
I don't think it hurts at all - it's common knowledge for anyone with a football brain who watches the WT play - this needs to be played to the players before every game.

He is infamous for being notoriously hard on his players with respect to being the fittest and with dietary requirements basically no nonsense.
He came to Leeds united when they were mid table in the 2nd division and thats all the players were seemingly capable of. But the club the board the players everyone had to buy into his philosophy 100% and if they didnt they were sold or sent out on loan or never to be seen again.
The moral of this story is within 3 seasons Leeds are now mid table in the premier league beating big teams like spurs ect teams they shouldnt be able to beat but they do because they are fitter stronger run all day.
I was in a camp which i thought maybe madge should move on but then i thought back to this, our players dont want it they arent hungry they dont want to be fitter than everyone else they arent a team of stars but they could be a team work as a unit but their mentality isnt up to it. Theres a heap of guys that just need to go, i hope Hastings comes in next year and rips it up and then guys like Brooks, Mbye BJ and the many others might just have a peak in the mirror at themselves.
I realise im talking about a different sport in a different country but the general principals are the same work hard and work together and you can achieve things you arent necessarily capable of.

To be fair to them, they haven’t lost to a top 6 side at home all season as well. The games against city have been unreal

Surely (without bringing in the definition of madness) by now you'd be trying something different, unless it has been so subtle that I've missed it?? Or we have players that are *uncoachable* (..) - there is this possibility, I suppose..
