Wonder if everyone will still be on madges lap after the game this week? Personally I’d like us to at least have a dig and not get murdered by 40-50 points

I haven't changed my view. Time for a new coach.

Me either, I get Madge might be passionate and I love that about him, but for whatever reason the players are not buying in, the side is not as bad as the ladder position suggests.
We have never been good at attracting top line players, but we have missed quite a few on Madge's watch, it can't be a coincidence

Our roster is improving but boy with ….
Packer
Mbye
MCK
BJ Leilua
Roberts
Walters
Cini
Amone
And you can throw Mr Garner with that lot

…. we are far from settled into anything approaching top 8.
So bit of realism please.

The 8 players you mentioned, Madge signed or re-signed 6 of them, that is real enough for me, and he seems very unlikely to attract any better quality players either

Well he signed some good ones also.
Recruitment is like that with all clubs …. hit and miss and luck. I’m positive that We will get there with our approach but you go your way with your opinion. No problem.

Also many of those players were signed or re-signed post Madge were on the cheap. James Roberts in particular was very cheap. BJ was probably the only one of really good money.

And most thought he was worth the risk - how wrong everyone was.

Any purchase is like that, it's all calculated risk vs return. Looking at our juniors emerging in 1st grade we have made a number of solid returns on minimal risk. Hopefully that bodes well for the future.

Tuilagi and Tuki Simpkins have FG written on them IMO. The next lot of forwards behind them are in Flegg, with Mavoni (needs to get fitter) and a couple of others likely to kick on - provided they put in the work.

Backs for me are a bit thinner - I think we lack in the halves but have some promising centres/wings/fullback - Ogden is all class and looks the pick of the bunch to me. Scolari is a tough competitor who has the drive to succeed and the winger Jordan Hill is a genuine flyer and finisher who can go the length. Logen Dillon shouldn't be discounted either - move likes Papenhuyzen and has that elusive footwork and speed.

Cini and Cooper are not FG material. Decent at KOE but ultimately too one-dimensional to cut it in FG.

You seem to have a good knowledge of the juniors coming through. How do you rate Hoffman, Willie Kei and Tannous if he’s still around? Thanks in advance

Can we get a good defensive assistant coach to help Madge? If so, who?

Dean Pay

Seems like the kind of bloke would help our club hey

Mbye gets a rough go on this forum. I understand he cannot play center he is completely and utterly useless. But after Magic round, everyone loved the idea of mbye at 6 and he has done some good things for us. He provided good service out of dummy half besides that one pass to the bloke in the crowd. I don't really rate him but don't get upset at madge for saying mbye has done some good thing because at the end of the day he has

The problem is that when he is not injured, he can't string good games together. I think lack of interest is also a contributing factor.

He’s clearly been on auto pilot since the club shopped him.

I want to apologise to Madge

Early in the 2nd half I was spitting at the TV about the bench rotation and that even with the injuries he still had Mbye unused on the bench.

Then he brought him on and I realised how wrong I was.

Highest paid player in the club with the equal lowest level of effort (Packer at the same level)

Earlier in the year at Leichhardt I spoke with an assistant coach in the lower grades, I won’t name him, he said quote “Ogden and Dillon are wasted in jersey flegg, they are too good for it and need to be playing men week in, week out”. We had a draw that particular day against bulldogs in flegg. Ogden has a lot of ability and hopefully stays injury free he’s had a couple this year, but looks a real prospect. At Merrylands oval later in the year against parra, I was speaking with a parent from the parra side, he seemed to know a hell of a lot about junior kids, What deals they were on and who they were managed by etc...he was adamant Dillon will not be with us next year he will have a top 30 spot at another club,. Soon see if he knows what he’s talking about.

Appreciate the info. Heard great things about Ogden
