Ciraldo seems Penrith centric and I see Cleary lasting another season .. another shot then bring in Ciraldo no use bringing someone that’s heart is somewhere else ! Maguire still needs to get punted yet !

Ivan will be there a while. Won’t wanna upset chin jr.

If Cleary misses out again next season with no premiership
thats 3 seasons in the premiership window .. Ciraldo for 2023 one thinks Cleary Jr will be on a million by then and they all love Ciraldo apparently.

I can’t see it working out that way.

That could be the case .. if so Ciraldo must be waiting for a better offer than the Tigers ,considering these opportunities do not come around that often maybe he sees himself as a professional assistant still top $ with out the stress or the ramifications!

He probably is waiting for a better offer, but that doesn’t mean at the Panthers. There are 15 better options than us. He probably only needs to bide his time for another 12 months or so and the right role will come along. Probably won’t be long till the Broncos are looking for a new coach. That’s a much more stable option than the rabble that is our club.

If you turn the Tigers around, however, you become legend.

I like that argument more for a guy like Bennett than for a rookie.

I don't think Bennett is the right fit here.

I don’t know if there is a right fit.
19 failures from 22 starts is a dogs breakfast of a competition record.

I don't think anyone would argue with that.

With only 16 NRL head coach jobs available (for now) I'd be amazed if any assistant coach with any ambition wouldn't be interested in any head coaching job that became available and that includes Ciraldo.

Few stories like your one, Brasher put all his football earnings into real estate, someone told me he owns upwards of 25 places.

Are you sure it was Brasher? I met him a few years back, after his caddying days, he said he was working for Dick Smith as a sales rep. Didn't sound to me the post-life lifestyle of a guy who was drawing income from 25 properties.

Jack Elsegood was the one I heard about making a mint on property.

No To Green, no to Flanno and not wrapped in the idea of a ESL coach. Certainly doesn’t leave to many options.
For me it has to be Ciraldo, but if he has said no, what can you do.

This is what the newspaper article advised which to me is not a no -

There is little doubt that the Tigers want to speak with Ciraldo. He has indicated he won’t pursue any opportunities until his commitments with the Panthers end, which will happen within the next fortnight.

I thought you were keen on Morris?

I am and Ciraldo appears also to be a very good option. We're blessed with choice!

Blessed is not a word I would associate with us.

"Choice" either.

If your risk management only extends to what you already know, then god help those clients.

Perhaps a dumb question, but how can you assess the risk of an unknown factor?

Just on Ciraldo, why are some of you convinced he would leave a club heading towards premiership success to helm a club heading the opposite direction?

If he wants to be a NRL coach spots where there is cash, heaps of roster spots and it also has zero immediate expectations is very rare. Barrett left for the Bulldogs, O’Brian left for the Knights, Fitzy is at the Sharks. It happens. He won’t get a NRL gig at the Panthers anytime soon. If he is happy to be an assistant he will stay, if he wants to be an NRL coach he will go hunting for one.

Actually a decent article for Hooper and tend to agree

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/tigers/hoops-maguires-messy-divorce-from-tigers-is-nearly-done-and-this-was-the-final-straw/news-story/5b468673678b41410e5a8471b99e3915

This stood out. Obviously the feedback to the club as to the cause of the roadblock has been determined.

The club has been told in no uncertain terms why it is struggling to sign players.

It would be nice to weed out the grub on the board who continually leaks shit to the media , surely someone knows who it is and they should be publicly shamed .

The news became available on a Sunday afternoon after the cessation of the regular competition and when no finals' games were underway? A strategic 'leak'?

Pascoe should be the defensive coach.. undefeated here we come

The germs on the board leaking info should be used as target practise by the defensive coach. Oh hang on, he or she will walk away relatively unscathed.

Madge couldn’t adapt to his roster and failed to see how he played with souths would not work at tigers. We don’t have same Burgess

Even in 2022, we still wont have Burgess'.

We have a hard working, old school coach where poor descissions and poor attitude wont be tolerated anymore.

I'm sick of players on good money robbing us fans.

**Our 15 year plus problem has been and still is culture.**

Look at Melb/Roosters in 2021. Thesehave high standards from the top down.

Is the Club/Board truly this stupid.

If Ciraldo can bring his defensively minded skills to WT alongside the ability to recruit decent players and be overseen by Sheens for a period of time, I am all for it.

It takes time and pain to develop a top NRL side....we have the platform for future success....
The youth want to play for Madge BUT must learn what it takes to play NRL,hard work, great attitude and selflessness, they all need to be on the same page...some of these players are a couple of pages behind but are learning, the other ones think they dont need to do better because they have been here to long..
Unfortunately when Madge gets sacked and a new target is installed, while nothing changes above,we will end up with the same result and people will be back in the same boat"rowing for a new coach"

So the perception of the club doesn't change. From the outside looking in Maguire will leave still with his achievements in the game in tact, with the wrath of an element of Wests Tigers supporters, like other coaches before him. Nothing new there.
Other fans will be philosophical about it being a results based game but will sympathise with him based on a roster that is not rated - and will pick the eyes out of the players that they predict will leave to come to their clubs to achieve some level of success. No doubt their clubs recruiters will be ready to do the same.
And we will continue to talk about the rebuild that is really no further ahead than it was ten years ago while trying to convince players we need and want, managers, parents, the media that we are heading in the right direction.
The COE has a lot of ground to make up.

I agree

If the reports are true, it seems the board is prioritising the ability to attract external players over sticking the course with madge, holding the players accountable and changing the bad player culture at the club.

Which is strange decision given the board apparently have recently decided that we are a development club.

I still think if players don't want to sign under madge because he works then hard then they aren't the right players for wt. We don't want players who players who take shortcuts.

I don't think anybody is convinced. It's more about hope. Still as i heard on the radio, if you want to be a first grade coach then you take first grade opportunities when they present themselves.

He may be better off seeing out his contract at Penrith and being patient. You would have to think Barrett, Brown, Payten, possibly Walters and even Brad Arthur could all end up on the chopping block next year.
The advantage we should have is 1.5 mill to spend on the cap and for a rookie first grade coach a bit of a backstop in the fact Sheens will be here. The disadvantage of course is who we are and our reputation which.....well lets be honest is horrendous.
