Robbo congratulated Madge, calling him a fine coach on NRL360. Respected figure in the game. Now let him whip this roster into shape.

The roster he put together?

Whatever mate, half the marquee money was paid to major duds that hardly took the field. The young guys he did attract played well.

What’s been done with that money now it’s freed up?

If he signs whatever half-decent players that are currently available (Sims, Elliot, Peachy, Scott/Burns/Walker) and they don't work out people will be queuing to jump down his neck for those signings. But there isn't much else out there. So it's a bit of a hiding to nothing for him recruitment-wise for season '22.

4 or 5 of those players would bolster our team significantly IMO.

There was though. JAC, Finucane etc, and he couldn’t sign them either.

Didn't Finucane fall through because WT didn't want to give him the 4 year deal he was chasing (and got at Sharks)?
Happy we didn't go ahead with him for 4 years, Sharks will be lucky to get more than 1 year out of him on-field with all the head knocks he's been getting. JAC, meh, he's been on the decline a bit this year, IMO he will struggle at the Bulldogs just like he more than likely would of here. $700k or whatever he is on per season.

That's correct, we didn't fall for that trap - I'll be stunned if Finucane is still playing well in 3 years time let alone 4.

But his experience teaching our youngsters especially stef, twal and blore, on how to prepare etc would have been invaluable.
It would have been worth it for us to pay a 4th even if he had limited game time.
Big miss imo

Hypocritical of Lee to criticise certain people of playing out things in the media. He seems to love doing that himself.

Certainly doesn’t hate seeing his name in the papers, I would prefer a bit less yapping from him it’s been more destabilising than anything.

I think Lee is well intentioned but the interview he gave last night to explain why the Madge saga played out as it did was unnecessary and just added to the club's embarrassment over the whole drawn out saga.

He could've easily done that in a members exclusive email.... Yeah it'd get to the media eventually but no he HAD to do it this way.
Cannot help himself

Whenever people are obsessed with saying "cuck", I can't stop thinking of all the other idiots who can't stop saying it. There's a real pattern. Without looking at your history, I'm guessing you're just dirty Madge wasn't sacked?

It will be interesting to see how they work together. I'm sure Sheens will have some input (why have him otherwise?), but I doubt he will be very hands on.

Yeah, I don't think Sheens was brought over to bang his wife (was this discussed in the board meeting?), so 'cuck' probably doesn't apply here.

Its pretty disrespectful to a bloke that has put his heart into this club and doesnt deserve it, but Im sure that is Dwights exact intention.

He was goalkicking coach for a bit, wasn't he?

I feel I've seen him around a bit at times, always seems happy to be involved when asked. Occasionally he pops up when they cross to the team sheds. Not sure if he was kicking coach but would make sense.

How very interesting and convenient that Tigers Public Enemy Number 1, fiction writer Michael Chammas, has a detailed interview with Chariman Mouth today in the SMH. Everytime Chairman Mouth opens his mouth he further erodes confidence in Club Leadership, in my opinon, and only reinforces that that is the major issues to be addressed before I, and I suspect many others, feel any confidence that things can improve in team performance.

Chammas, of course, is the prime WT rumour spreader and our Chairman loves media attention. Coincidence?? I think not.

I think the opposite.

The only way Wests tigers will get a good reputation with the media is by controlling the narrative.

This is one time I must commend Lee.

An Honest Q and A, immediately following all the articles and ongoing speculation just to bring everyone up to speed.

We need to be more forthcoming with our access to the media. If we don’t the media will only create stories anyway to generate the clicks. So we might as well use it to our advantage and give them what we want them to hear.

Both Rowdy and Pat Richards are employed by the club. It is weird, we use our former players so poorly, you never ever hear from any of them, even the ones employed by the club. We have a wealth of former players who would talk positively about the club and counter some of the negative rubbish that gets driven by Blocker, Benny and co. Using our own former players will build the identity of the club, at the moment it is like a player stops playing for us and they cease to exist. I spoke to Galloway at an Ambush event earlier in the year and asked him about his current involvement and he said he absolutely no involvement with the club but you could tell there was a desire to be involved.

Why isn't the club using these guys to generate positive stories about the club.

Massive shame isn't it. If you look at the 2005 Premiership winning team I've barely heard a single name mentioned from that team in many years. Even the 2010/11 teams you barely hear a name mentioned any more. Surely there's a few blokes that could be utilized to drum up a bit of positivity around the club.

I thought that was a pretty decent interview by Lee.

The most interesting part being him letting the board know in no uncertain terms that releasing information to the media was not on.

its one thing to do these sort of interviews and be in the media spotlight. Some criticise him for it but its a whole other thing for board members to be leaking sensitive information to the media about the workings and intentions of the club.

I hope those board members responsible have a good hard look at them selves.

They are part of the problem at this club. You cant run a tight ship with guys like that releasing sensitive and confidential information to the media.

If Lee didn't say and do such stupid crap behind the scenes no one would have anything to leak to the media

He was the one spruiking about sacking the coach behind the scenes

From what I heard he was the one who approached Ciraldo .....( yes Lee your a liar )

Just shut your fat trap Lee ...you know nothing about rugby league ...just a supporter who bought his way on to the board .....

I have just read he stated absolutely no other coach was contacted about the coaches job !

Apart from Farah I can’t think of anyone who fits the bill?

Rowdy

Absolutely. Wouldn't blame Rowdy if he didn't want to ever step through the doors again for us though. We wasted his career.

Pat Richards would be another I'd love to see involved more with the club.

Gibbs and Fulton together would liven things up

One minute Madge is gone ...next minute he isn't ...and at the same time all this is happening Ciraldo comes out and says he isn't making any decisions on his coaching future until Penrith's finals commitments are done .....

Believe Lee if you want .....he is paid to be the best BSer .....I don't .....And I said I'd heard this Sunday/Monday night about Ciraldo
