Believe Lee if you want …he is paid to be the best BSer …I don’t …And I said I’d heard this Sunday/Monday night about Ciraldo

you heard it from who?

A source ......I posted it if you have a look in the thread

Not suggesting for a minute that your source hasn't told you this. But Ciraldo himself said he is making no comment until after the finals when contacted by media. Lee stated he was never contacted by the club. I also have a contact at Penrith who doesn't believe he was contacted by WT.

We will probably never know truly because contacts can be made through managers and third parties etc, but I'm not certain he was contacted. Just sayin.....

My question moving forward what happens to the players that obviously want nothing to do with Maguire ! Can not gloss over the fact it was there for all to see , you can not move forward with players that want nothing to do with the coach.
If the board and club are all together now surely these players need to be moved on in weeks !

yep - get rid of them, whoever they are...no fear or favour - now the coaching situations has been reaffirmed (whether we fans like it or not) they have to continue and weed players or employees or board members who aren't aligned. The only way forward is all as one.

Good to see you back posting, Russell. Hope all is well.

I’ve heard the review has finished and Maguire is still our coach. What else came out of the review?

We need a new Cappuncino maker ......

Sheens is coming to re-arrange the weights room for the CoE and the team are looking forward to an inhouse barber.

There can't possibly be any excuses left if Madge once again fails next year right?

He would've signed or re-signed every single player in the squad, he's got plenty of salary cap to work with, he should have better assistants (despite being the one who picked the bad assistants) brand new training facilities, he HAS to get them playing well or he can't survive

The source is a brother of an ex NRL player who is good mates with a current coach ......he was actually a delivery driver for many years ...I hadn't heard anything from him for a few years ...but he put me on to some stories in regards to Todd Carney for example that proved correct ...

Is it not possible that Ciraldos manager contacted the Tigers.

If so then both arguments can be true

Or a board member who wanted Madge gone contracted his manager on his own.

Lee's comments would still be true in that the club did not make a play for Ciraldo.

If that is the case that board member should be removed asap.We dont need cavaliers at that level

The good thing is Madge has been retained , we should move forward from here can you imagine the backlash if he had been punted

How very interesting and convenient that Tigers Public Enemy Number 1, fiction writer Michael Chammas, has a detailed interview with Chariman Mouth today in the SMH. Everytime Chairman Mouth opens his mouth he further erodes confidence in Club Leadership, in my opinon, and only reinforces that that is the major issues to be addressed before I, and I suspect many others, feel any confidence that things can improve in team performance.

Chammas, of course, is the prime WT rumour spreader and our Chairman loves media attention. Coincidence?? I think not.

I think the opposite.

The only way Wests tigers will get a good reputation with the media is by controlling the narrative.

This is one time I must commend Lee.

An Honest Q and A, immediately following all the articles and ongoing speculation just to bring everyone up to speed.

We need to be more forthcoming with our access to the media. If we don’t the media will only create stories anyway to generate the clicks. So we might as well use it to our advantage and give them what we want them to hear.

But to come out and state "we believe we are a destination club" and "there is a real smell of 2005 about this team" is just beyond laughable. Those sort of statements feed the media and public perception that we are an absolute laughing stock. It doesn't help in any way whatsoever.

Madge hasn't taken a team to finals since 2015. In 2017 he took the Rabbitohs to 12th place, the year after Anthony Seibold took over who's a terrible coach and got essentially the same roster to finish third.

Hopefully he breaks his streak next season.

Needs to reinvent himself

What do you suggest?

The tough guy act didn't work as the players all sulked and brought out their egg shells nonsense.

The nice guy act didn't work either, seemed forced and fake, as seen on the doco.

Needs to just smarten up, bring in some big gun assistants and start shopping around the problem players that think they own the club. Until then, he's on the same track as the last 3 years.

The biggest thing he needs is a string leadership group to drive madges standards and do the talking for madge.

Finucane would if been great.
But from what's available now, I'd make sims a priority.

Give farah a greater role in coaching.

And bring in a young assistant. Gardiner? Hodge? Burgess?

Anyone been watching Sam Burgess on SAS? Natural born leader- you can see why he was a gun player.
Should send Brooks off to do that programme over the off season.

Luke would not know how to get out of the barracks or which way to run on the hikes not to mention breaking down mentally to having someone in his ear about performance

Hypocritical of Lee to criticise certain people of playing out things in the media. He seems to love doing that himself.

At the very least Lee makes official comments, doesn't appear to leak bits and pieces to the media to drive his agenda.

My wife and I each have a premium membership and will keep them. We support the Wests Tigers and would never put any coach, player or other individual above the club (even Robbie!). We have stuck solid through thick and thin and believe that's what members and fans do.

I'm not looking for any pats on the back for this but we will always support whoever the club appoints. so the outcome of the review has had no impact on our support. I'm glad to see Madge continue with the passion and belief that he wears on his sleeve.

Here's to better times ahead!

Enjoy your wooden spoon next season to eat your soup with, because that’s where we are heading!

He didn't deserve that response.

Obviously not directed especially at him but the general Madge lovers with their massive blinkers on! Can’t stand the ignorance of some people!

Do they really even watch the games, as I said previously **I have supported the club through numerous wooden spoons** and this is the worst we have looked by a mile!

38-0 to the wooden spooners!

You must be on the wrong forum, the club has never had the spoon?

I thought that was a pretty decent interview by Lee.

The most interesting part being him letting the board know in no uncertain terms that releasing information to the media was not on.

its one thing to do these sort of interviews and be in the media spotlight. Some criticise him for it but its a whole other thing for board members to be leaking sensitive information to the media about the workings and intentions of the club.

I hope those board members responsible have a good hard look at them selves.

They are part of the problem at this club. You cant run a tight ship with guys like that releasing sensitive and confidential information to the media.

If Lee didn't say and do such stupid crap behind the scenes no one would have anything to leak to the media

He was the one spruiking about sacking the coach behind the scenes

From what I heard he was the one who approached Ciraldo .....( yes Lee your a liar )

Just shut your fat trap Lee ...you know nothing about rugby league ...just a supporter who bought his way on to the board .....

I just gotta ask why you care so much? What does it matter if Lee talks to the press or not? I'm not criticising you, I'm just curious why it provokes such a reaction in some people.

Agree. Needs to spend this money wisely

The Club has made the right decision to stick with Madge.

2022 is likely to be a very difficult year and we need his passion and simplified approach.

I hope the players we keep and bring in show a more resilient attitude and our playmakers make better on field decisions.

The Rebuild continues

He needs to stay for the remainder of his contract. Punting him this time next season, while highly likely would be incredibly stupid.
