With so much oversight and ppl above him making decisions, you'd think Madge will be gone sooner rather than later. No way he makes it thru his contracted 2 years with the squad he has atm. He's going to need a couple of big signings to keep his job

I think that's a fair eveluation.

He won't survive if the squad stays the same. He needs to recruit a few improvements.

Apart from Farah I can’t think of anyone who fits the bill?

Rowdy

Absolutely. Wouldn't blame Rowdy if he didn't want to ever step through the doors again for us though. We wasted his career.

Pat Richards would be another I'd love to see involved more with the club.

Both Rowdy and Pat Richards are employed by the club. It is weird, we use our former players so poorly, you never ever hear from any of them, even the ones employed by the club. We have a wealth of former players who would talk positively about the club and counter some of the negative rubbish that gets driven by Blocker, Benny and co. Using our own former players will build the identity of the club, at the moment it is like a player stops playing for us and they cease to exist. I spoke to Galloway at an Ambush event earlier in the year and asked him about his current involvement and he said he absolutely no involvement with the club but you could tell there was a desire to be involved.

Why isn't the club using these guys to generate positive stories about the club.

Because we're run by nimrods?

Wasn't Nimrod a biblical figure known as a mighty man?

Yes

Not sure if posted already but interesting to see the future captains opinion

That makes me question him as a future captain. Shows a lack of maturity.

What it shows to me is that the players back the coach and have little respect for management.
I have started liking them again.

One player we like. I’m sure there’s some white ants.

So its ok to white ant as long as he is white anting someone who you don't like?

He didn’t address anyone specifically. He supported his head coach.

By agreeing with someone being critical of the management, I have had jobs where I would be heavily disciplined for that.

Geez it’s a new world when we’re questioning a bloke on the correct social media etiquette

It is in my code of conduct, was in my code of conduct at my previous jobs and its in about 20 code of conducts I have written for small to medium businesses.

Yeah with you.
I was heavily involved in the biggest infrastructure project in Australia and at times was very hard to refrain from comment or to clear the air when BS was being sent around. But if I did would’ve been punted or at least demoted.

I have had to disciplined people over their use of social media in the past.

Kinky

There’s nothing out there for 2022. His only hope is to land a couple big fish for 2023, and hope he survives that long for them to improve the side in his contract year.

I thought that was a pretty decent interview by Lee.

The most interesting part being him letting the board know in no uncertain terms that releasing information to the media was not on.

its one thing to do these sort of interviews and be in the media spotlight. Some criticise him for it but its a whole other thing for board members to be leaking sensitive information to the media about the workings and intentions of the club.

I hope those board members responsible have a good hard look at them selves.

They are part of the problem at this club. You cant run a tight ship with guys like that releasing sensitive and confidential information to the media.

If Lee didn't say and do such stupid crap behind the scenes no one would have anything to leak to the media

He was the one spruiking about sacking the coach behind the scenes

From what I heard he was the one who approached Ciraldo .....( yes Lee your a liar )

Just shut your fat trap Lee ...you know nothing about rugby league ...just a supporter who bought his way on to the board .....

I just gotta ask why you care so much? What does it matter if Lee talks to the press or not? I'm not criticising you, I'm just curious why it provokes such a reaction in some people.

Because he doesn't have a footy brain ......

With the media (mostly NRL 360) labelling us a basket case and a lot of fans accepting this narrative, maybe it's time to step back and have a look at the whole club. For me, when all of our teams from KOE Cup down are doing really well, the only thing left to fall into place is our NRL side.

In time, the success of our lower grades will almost certainly translate into the success of the NRL side. I believe that having a bit (or even a lot!) of patience will see a successful club of which we can all be proud.

Thoughts on Cooper Cronk as an assistant coach?..he has a good footy brain of the modern game

I would take him, even just as a halves consultant. He does really good work on leadership as well so could be good for developing leadership in guys like AD.

Robbo congratulated Madge, calling him a fine coach on NRL360. Respected figure in the game. Now let him whip this roster into shape.

Of course all the other coaches want our team to be coached by someone that is not up to the task! Gus, and Gallen and Robbo are not concerned with what is in the best interests of the tigers, they are are competitors and as such their opinion on who should coach us should not be so highly valued and prized!

Sorry who does Gallen coach?

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit mate. If you enjoy trying to upset and stir random people on the internet that only talk on the forum as an outlet for their fears, frustrations and thoughts on the football club that is in their heart and soul whether they like it or not then more power to you , mate . I hope you get what you need from it ! ?

I was merely only using your words to ask a question.
Let me rephrase. In terms of your point. The other 2 I agree with but by what benefit does it serve Gallen to ensure Madge is continuing on at the tigers?
I don’t believe he is affiliated with Cronulla anymore since he Sued them when he retired, that’s what I was curious about.

Interesting quote from Gus. “Only last week he was calling me looking at possible trades for players and positions they are trying to fill. He wasn't acting like a coach who felt like he was walking the plank."

Who would we be after from the dogs? I can’t think of anyone contracted there this year apart from maybe Thompson we would be interested in.

I believe reality has set in at the Tigers this is a long term rebuild. I don’t see anything but 2 year veteran deals and younger players looking for an opportunity on the horizon. The club won’t over pay and from the sounds of it they know it’s a long term plan. Madge will see out his two years and they can plan for the future hopefully with a more experienced squad getting more games.

The brand damage is done they have to take their time and do it properly.

This is what i believe also and i would much rather have Madge there to get us through this painful transition because he believes in getting the club where we should be in a few years despite the majority of criticism he will have to shoulder. There is no quick fix to give long term viability to our club,it has to have strong foundations and that takes time.
None of us are happy where we are now or where we have been for the last decade but at last we have a coach who is prepared for the long haul despite the current pain.

You're right.

There is social media policies and other things where employees shouldn't even post anything about their company, at all. Positive or negative.

Negative posts or something that would bring harm to the company or organisations reputation would be sackable and even legal ramifications...

I've had employers even state that they didnt want people to display where they work on Facebook and would be checking this.

Knew a guy who used to be a bit of a gym rat and he'd post shirtless photos on his social media... even got warnings that.

I don't have an issue with a player like Adam, liking some thing to support his coach he's known for a long time and is probably close friends with. I liked seeing him and Dane liking the posts and showing support.

Hopefully lessons are learnt from the failings this year and surrounding him with sheens and **new assistants** gets the desired results.

After reading and hearing for year or so that Maguire needed new assistants and partly so because he feared unseating, that we went through the entire season without change makes the current situation and decisions even more upsetting.

Baffled as to why on earth our club waited until the fat lady had totally lost her voice before making this bloody change!

Having two highly capable assistants in place provides a seamless transition to a new coach. It's a smart move by the club.

Critical of the club but supportive of the coach...

It's really a tricky situation.
I dare say it wouldn't even be worth discussing from a HR point of view as he hasn't expressed any comment or opinion on the matter and just liked a post...

How many times has there been politicians seen liking very inappropriate stuff on Twitter? Pornographic things. Been a few occasions.

I get where you're coming from though.
Just personally don't think it's a big deal and don't think the club can really do anything about it.
Adam could always play dumb too like ohh I did it by accident or I was hacked.

It's quite nice to see some players stand by their coach though.
