Not against it on the same moral grounds as u but I think he’d just add more instability at the club.

That would be my second concern, I wouldn't be as upset in an assistant role, but I still don't think he should be involved in the game and agree he would be a destablising influence on the club.

There would be 50 daily telegraph stories before a trial game kicked off

Toovey and Farah/Pay with Thurston or someone doing some halves work.

Thoughts on Cooper Cronk as an assistant coach?..he has a good footy brain of the modern game

I would take him, even just as a halves consultant. He does really good work on leadership as well so could be good for developing leadership in guys like AD.

People know he works already for both the Storm and Roosters in consultancy roles as well as Fox

He won't wreck his legacy and come here .....

Didn't we have Head, and Kimmorley as a halves developers?

Head is doing good things as an assistant somewhere ...pity he didn't stay

Are you suggesting that the Tigers should be giving Head a chance? ????

Too many Chiefs, no quality Indians

With the media (mostly NRL 360) labelling us a basket case and a lot of fans accepting this narrative, maybe it's time to step back and have a look at the whole club. For me, when all of our teams from KOE Cup down are doing really well, the only thing left to fall into place is our NRL side.

In time, the success of our lower grades will almost certainly translate into the success of the NRL side. I believe that having a bit (or even a lot!) of patience will see a successful club of which we can all be proud.

Weve been saying this for 10 years.
Wests Tigers is a feeder club to professional NRL outfits.
We grow them, we raise them…you turn them into champions

Who would you pick as assistants? It's difficult to know who's any good for the role. Normally guys that are successful with junior teams or reserve grade teams get given a go

I've noticed a lot of people who wanted Madge to stay / are happy Madge is staying saying that he has one more chance to make the 8 or he's gone.

Why? Do people actually think we should make the 8 with a team that came 13th last year and has lost one of its best for most of the year next year (Doueihi)? We're going to be lucky to come 13th again with this roster and we'll be in the same spot most likely.

Committing to Madge this year should be taken as a commitment to Madge until the 2023 season at least. If our board sack him after another crap year next year it will make this already poor decision to retain him look even worse.

Neil Henry would be great.

No room for Seibold?

Yes, in the cargo hold of a freighter bound for Panama.

Agree. We are in the middle of a (unannounced and possibly unintentional) team and club rebuild. We have gone all in one youth but haven't yet surrounded them with quality senior players to guide and mentor them.

We need to see this rebuild through which will mean slowly building over the next 2-3 years. To do this we can't change direction halfway through and seek a sugar hut buy going for a new coach or a overpriced player.

If the board have decided to stick with madge now, it must be with eyes wide open of the situation and cant expect to make the 8 next year as key KPI. Madge must see out his next 2 years of the contract and then revaulate. I'm not expecting to make the 8 in the next 2 years, but I am expecting to see year on year improvement of the team, prioritised opportunities and growth of the next generation and surrounding team with senior players who can protect and teach good habits and culture.

Also expect club to prioritise extending the core group of young players as the nucleus of the team for the next 8 years.

If madge has short comings (which he does) then address them by building a team around him.

If we are going to get out of this decade long quagmire - We need teamwork across WT (which madge talks about all the time). No finger pointing, everyone pulling their weight and doing their job. And no more Chairman and CEO saying football is not their responsibility.

He honestly shouldn't have had a choice.
