To tell the truth ,if Madge gets sacked I can guarantee this club will be in whole world of hurt for the next 3/5 years with no FINALS appearance...
coaches, players ,admin will all give the place a wide bearth...you reckon we cant attract marquee signings, see how we end up after sacking a premiership coach who has tried to cleanup a rabble that it has been for years...

Not sure how you can possibly think he’s done a good job. He’s taken a pretty ordinary team and made them
worse. He’s failed.

In your opinion, but he gave Simpkin his debut when everybody said he is far off NRL,he got Laurie here early,he moved AD to 5/8 and bought in Joe O and Stef to strenghthen the team and you say he failed because the results dont suit you...your hate for the man is overwhelming..yet you dont blame player incompetence at all...

I don’t hate him at all, but he’s done a terrible job and he deserves to get the sack. We’re 1-6, you may be happy with that but I find it unacceptable.

find another club like the roosters if it dont suit you here...when the club makes a desicion on Madges future then I will respond to that..not some fan venting because things didnt go his way...

It’s a low call to tell a fan to support another club mate ..
This is a public footy forum for everyone to vent or voice an opinion..

Especially the rooters.....FGS

I like the storm
Especially now Cammy has gone ?

Me too. They are my favourite team to watch. Sadly I look forward to watching them more than the WTs. Doesn't feel good or bad when they win or lose - just entertaining.

They’re awesome to watch .. they’ll go back to back ..

I’ve been a supporter of Madge and still am .... but .... There is definitely something to be said about the mental preparation of this team on game days.
They just fail to and loose focus for periods in the game.
And it’s nothing new and Madge just can’t seem to get on top of this. It is now embedded in our DNA and I’m not sure I can see a short term solution.
Whether it means we need a new coach with a new approach is hard one ..... you would have to be very careful that you “don’t throw the baby out with the water” .....

The players are emotionally immature mate. We saw them come to play and played like a top 4 team for 30 minutes . Shows they were well prepared. A couple of missed tackles later and they drop their bundle. Then very late in the game, when it was decided, they want to get back in the grind? It shows lack of on field leadership.
I would love to see Mbye and Packer gone.

Yep, this it. Don't let the players win by backing them over their coach. They need to start playing hard before they earn the right to have a say in who coaches them.

I don't think Madge has lost the dressing room, the effort was there against Souths, but this team struggles to put back to back good performances together. Their is a lot of laziness in defence at times and with Madge as coach you would think this team would be fit enough to keep to the speed of the game. Troubling thing with Madge are his team selections, I can see why he is picking the Cheekam and Seyfarths, and why he is trying Ofahengaue on the edge but they are gambling decisions, not calculated. Blind Freddy can see Garner has been one of our best the last few weeks, the game was over by the time he got on the field. Players missing consecutive tackles leading to tries need to be hooked, Coach Maguire would rather leave them in to see how they respond to their mistakes , another gamble.

My view on Madge was always he would be the coach that got rid of all the loafers and built a hardened roster where someone else would come in and recruit players to get them firing. His tactics have a use by date but for me now is not the time.

Madge is basically being done over like Dean Pay.

He's set some decent foundations for a good coach to take over. Plenty of players with talent if they can somehow be convinced to use it for 80 mins a week

and big signings off contract next year he has done part of a job Madge

Don't forget the 85 minutes last week.

Trying to look without emotion, most of the tries today were through the left hand corridor where MCK and Musgrove were. AD was also found out a couple of times. Everyone's critical of the decision to play MCK in the backline but realistically who else do we play there?

Every time Cini's name is mentioned it's accompanied by expressions of how bad his defence is - it's hardly going to be an improvement. We've lost both AJ and BJ so we're two centres down.

I would have preferred Mbye in the centres but it's a balancing act getting the bench right. Gee I wish we had Hastings right now.

I don't think Naden is the answer either, I'd rather we wait for someone better.

We need pull out all the stops to get Wayne Bennett.

does he come with a side of Benji?

Don't laugh. At least he would attract elite players to the club unlike Madge unfortunately

You are going to be waiting a long time no one better wants to come just have a look at some of the names we’ve missed out on

Was the sack coach thread this civil in the Potter and JT days?

Were either of those 2 really that bad in comparison?

I think potter and JT were not as bad as this year to be honest with you. We sacked both of them

Taylor used to cop it about the defence. Nothings changed

Then we wait. Buying unsuitable players won't get us out of a hole. We're punching with one arm behind our back until the COE is built (or at least properly underway) but I believe we'll eventually have the infrastructure to attract better quality cattle.

The COE i close enough that it shouldn't have a negative impact at this point.

You think he’s definitely gone TYGA?

I hope not. It makes zero sense. Roster is a bottom half of the table squad. Changing coach is the dumbest thing I have heard in years.
I feel it’s a cop out from management and fans that don’t want to admit reality the squad is poor. Some feel changing the coach gives hope I don’t see it that way.

What will be the next excuse , when it's built?

Big name players aren't coming here because we've been a basketcase of a club for near a decade, not our coach's methods.
We're a club who has lost some of their most talented juniors due to recruitment blunders or their impatience of not playing finals footy. Plus we have a penchance for sacking coaches.
No offence but we'd have to be considered one of the least desirable club for coaches and players alike.

Conversely I expect that there will be a barrage of potential coaches knocking hard on the door when the position is available in the coming weeks.
