I like Madge as a bloke and thought he was the right choice at the time he was hired.

But it's becoming obvious the only tool he has in his coaches toolbox is a hammer. Flogging blokes and trying to be the fittest team ain't working.

He is poor tactically. We never play a different style of footy, depending on the opposition. It's the same plan week in, week out, regardless of opposition strengths or weakness. We are predictable as a result and rarely target a teams weakness.

His use of the bench never wavers despite the scoreline or game momentum. Too robotic.

He has a month to save his job imo.

Can't keep blaming Ivan forever, unfortunately it looks like the team aren't playing for him.

Agree completely but will go a few more steps.
Change starts at the Top - CEO Pascoe needs to go.
Brooks - Start Madden drop completely
Simkins to hooker - Liddle on Bench
Younger forwards to give more minutes,
Coach rather Morris than Madge, at least he makes the 8.

Pascoe: reminds me of a used car salesman. Says all the right things, but it's all smoke and mirrors. It's a results driven industry footy, and ours are getting worse each year.

Brooks: I kinda feel for the guy. How would he perform at the Storm, titans, roosters, Canberra or parra? Are their half backs better than him or is it our coaching/club using him poorly?

Simkins: agreed, he needs to debut this week. He would have already debuted at the top clubs, but our "system" is terrible and hard for these kids to debut

Forwards: agree they need more minutes. I also think we need changes. Some hunger, passion and aggression. Tuki looks likely in reserves (I missed today's game). Seyfarth probably adds something off the bench.
I feel Twal is becoming a Gallen/ Woods momentum killer. His stats read good but he stifles our attack and gets the ball at the wrong time

Coach: Madge has a month to save his job. Would Bennett be interested? I know he wants to move back to Brisbane, but you are a long time required. Say what you will about him, but players want to play for him and he can attract talent.

Pascoe is a slick politician. You don't have to do a good job you just got to convince people that your doing a good gob.

I think the reality is most players would have had a number of coaches in their career. They would know when they are dealing with one who has no idea and no answers.

Would be hard to lift yourself when you run onto the field thinking we will do a lot of one out running before a bit of running around in circles and if we are any chance, it is going to be on the back of individual brilliance.

Spot on post. Such predictable, easy to defend attack we throw at teams.

If the boys train so hard under Madge why are we
still so weak so slow. Every other club looks fitter than us.

Don't know that they look fitter but certainly other teams look faster and more competitive.

I reckon Madge isn't a good fit for our club. My hopes were very high with him when he came onboard but it's obvious he's way out of his depth here. Hasn't been able to attract any high profile signings. I know he's had success in superleague at a big club and came to the Rabbitohs and was able to build a cracking squad there but he doesn't have the financial luxurious here like those clubs.

I was disappointed when we signed him
. Then he spoke of change then I got sucked in for a while like a lot of others.
Now we’re going backwards .

In the simplest analysis there are 2 key requirements to be a consistent, winning team- first is the quality and ability of the playing group and the second is the desire or attitude of that group. If your team dont have the latter, then even a quality group of players wont win games consistently. There have been far better rosters than ours over recent seasons that have played consistently rubbish football. So in order to win consistently a team must be made up of players who have desire, hunger and the will to win, as a united group they must want to compete relentlessly. It seems to me that our group simply lacks those types of individuals and I am not sure that changing the coach is going to change that at this point. Until we have enough “winners” in our group we are destined to be off the pace and the best coaches wont magically or instantly change that.

Ive never wanted a coach sacked before but i think its time he moved on. They arent listening and decensive structure is poor and thats the coaches bread and butter

The attacking structure is also poor

Is that the attack that scored 30 and has done better than 22 for 3 straight weeks?

Just so we are all clear that's not going to happen. Tigers specifically doubled-down on Madge last year and they aren't going to now try and pay him out, not with almost 3 seasons left on his contract.

Is Toovey really an upgrade? I see him as a very similar coach to Madge

Only 2 coaches who could turn us into anything are Bellamy and Bennett. We’re a project only the best coaches of all time could get something out of.

Last week Gus Gould said ...
If you took the top 5 teams coaches and placed them in the bottom 5 teams , the bottom 5 teams would be all top 5 teams in 4 years ..

That's funny, we had the comp-leading coach a few years back and he couldn't get it done in the time he decided to hang around.

Our best three players are Laurie, AD and Stefano…who all came in from good systems.

AD's from our system mate, he was only at the Rabbits for 3 seasons.

Has there actually ever been a CEO sacked in NSWRL / ARL / NRL history because the team isn't getting enough wins? Technically not their job.

Always a first ...
What’s he done in his 5 years besides balls everything up ?

I was disappointed with the outcome and I was disappointed with the fact that the negotiation took too long,” Pascoe said.

“And I put my hand up for that because I was the lead negotiator through this process.”

That's Pascoe talking about losing Teddy,Moses and Woods. Lead negotiator! But no, literally nothing to do with the football club.

Getting rid of Madge now will only cause more
Issues. Not only will it effect the remainder of the season but also next year. We can’t keep sacking coaches! We’ve had like 4 in the last 8 years. Clearly there’s a deeper issue. We’ve gotta be patient, I honestly believe this defeat isn’t as bad as everyone else is making it out to be, one bunker decision goes the way it should and we win. They players came back in the second half and got us back within 4 points. Players don’t do that for a coach they dislike.

Maybe instead we could figure out the best way to help the club. Maybe hire someone who can do a job between the players and coach. Think out of the box.

I don’t want another rebuild, let alone the media frenzy we are going to be copping. That’s what turns of players from
Coming here and makes our talent leave to other systems.
