This is the last I will say about this.

Just had the source confirm that Madge has lost the senior players. They wouldn't verify a specific incident, but pretty sure it's referring to Tamou -unfortunately things aren't looking pretty.

I'm not stirring garbage. I wouldn't say it if I wasn't 100% sure on my source.

To those senior players. I don't care if you disagree with Madge. You are not the coach, just do what you are told you overpaid prima donnas. And if you don't like it go to a different club, or get a real job on an average wage. You have disgraced the memory of Tommy with your attitude yesterday. At least Madge cared!! I am still fuming just as much as yesterday.

To be honest, I reckon it all hogwash this thought he's lost the playing group. I think people want this to be an excuse to why we aren't having success yet. I heard the same excuse for Jason Taylor, Mick Potter & at the end, Tim Sheens.

But you're right. If they don't agree, bugger off. They are paid to be players. Not judge or disagree with your coach. But if you don't agree with your coach, it's also your obligation to work with your coach & say something, make a suggestion, let him know of what you think. Not under perform or undermine them.

You wouldn't see the like of players like Cam Smith, Greg Inglis, Paul Gallon, Jonathan Thurston, etc, saying stuff about their coaches like that. Given, some of those blokes were never in a position of having little success.

I didn't want to say anything, but i have a source that he has lost the dressing room completely.
He lost it last year and has been struggling to get it back. Not a good man manager, but manages upwards well.
The complaints I heard is that he's not straight with the players i.e. says one thing, does another etc Sometimes players don't really know what he wants from them.

That explains why they are “playing “ like they are, we actually have some good players

if anyone thought 2021 was going to be a successful season for us, they were dreaming. Our pack for the most part is quite young which will lead to inconsistency. We don't have a middle with the leg speed and ball playing that can take advantage of the new rules. Our backline consists of players known to be rocks and diamonds their whole career. Our spine has played very few games together. In fact our fullback and hooker have barely played any first grade, the 6 has played very little in the halves and our halfback has been much maligned his whole career. Then there is the mismanaged cap that sees our highest paid player a bench utility and possibly our next highest paid a reserve grade forward.
Yet, we are heading in the right direction. We have unearthed a great young front rower in Utoikamanu. Luciano Leilua has shown he has more talent than almost any other backrower in the comp. Blore evidently had a great preseason before injury robbed him of his chance to impress. These guys can be the foundation of a great pack in a couple years, but they are not there yet.
Liddle has looked solid and there is evidently a clear development plan that will see Simpkin be a regular inclusion by season's end. Our new rookie fullback has been outstanding, though there are still areas of his game he needs to vastly improve. Our 6 looks better with every game in the position whilst our maligned halfback is leading the competition in try assists after 5 weeks, despite the team as whole not performing to well on the field. Again this spine will be better in a couple years with the inexperienced younger players given time to develop their individual games as well as the spine as whole getting time together.
Our backline is still rocks and diamonds and we still don't have the 'small ball' lock option but this is what the development and recruitment team is for. And soon enough we will get cap space cleared from past mistakes being off the books they should be in a position to recruit in the areas we need.

So about the coach. It was his vision that has put together this solid foundation for the future. Let him see out his contract and give him the chance to do something with it. The alternative is bringing in a new coach who will have his own vision for the future tear down the existing foundation, instill a new one and then also be moved on before he has time to get to where he is building.

This does not mean im happy about the performance yesterday. It just means step back and see the bigger picture. There was a lot of (misguided) confidence on this forum heading into this season. It shouldn't dissipate so quickly. At least let the season play out before this type of carry on.

Wish I could upvote this twice.... let the young players grow

Well if your source is correct, and the players are revolting because Madge benched Tamou . . . have those players not been watching what Tamou has dished up as CAPTAIN for the past 4 weeks ? He has been FAR from inspiring.

The senior players? BJ, Packer, Mbye? They're all playing terribly. Tamou and Brooks have been ok in my eyes, but plenty are unimpressed.

Maybe there's a reason the senior players have been lost.

It's similar to when a couple of posters were using Reynolds as a source for players being offside with the coach, of course he was.

Yeah good call. My mind does go back to that thinking after a defeat. I just haven’t got there yet after this one.

Think I read something similar by another poster on this forum. If any of this is true, we have a massive problem. Usually these things end up very badly for both the coach and the club.

Live by the sword....

Flicks our best hard working honest players - Thompson, Mommos, Benji.
For troubled players
What are you running Madge, Betty Ford clinic or a footy team

I don't buy the fact that Madge is responsible for these nuffies not showing any line speed in defence on a weekly basis. Either they don't care or they're not up to it. Every first grader out there should know how to defend yet our mob consistently stuff it up with great aplomb.

Momo was not 'flicked', he wanted to go and was exchanged for Daine Laurie, who is one of our best players.
Benji was not 'flicked' either, his contract was done and he simply wasn't re-signed, a decision most people on here probably agreed with.

Well, the source isn't a player.

From what I understand it's not like there's going to be a revolt or anything, it's just that it's not cohesive at the moment due to inconsistencies in communications etc. Some of the older players have questioned things and it wasn't met with open arms. Tbh, it doesn't look like much has worked so far, so questioning the approach is probably reasonable thing to do. Problem is that players weren't really heard out and told to shut it essentially.

Once again, I'm just repeating something I heard. Could be bollocks/biased, but I know the person well and trust them. I'm hoping this can be worked through, however having been involved in teams, these things are often quite difficult to resolve if parties involved are stubborn.

Haven't heard anything about player/coach issues. Was specifically told that on-field performance is in stark contrast to intensity at training (stating the obvious). But means they are switching on and listening at training, but not translating to game day.

Was told that Nofa might have something going on life wise away from footy - could have been just a throw away, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hope this is the case.

Stange that Roberts looked gassed after 5 mins on the weekend if training intensity is high.

I also don't think it's a cattle issue; when they are in they are on. It's doing it for 80 mins that's the issue. At this rate we will need to score 40 points to win a game.

Hope Im wrong but Roberts looks like he has issues, and they might not be physical. He doesnt look right.

Unpopular post...but we talk about the culture of the club and coach and players...but what about the fans...yeah we have had to stand thru no finals for ages..but it has come to a point where fans r really quick to jump on a sack a coach bandwagon... same goes for moving players...seen quite a few posts of people wanting to move daine and AD out of position.... daine laurie and AD in our team atm as well as stef is like 3 rolls royce phantoms driving around mount druitt..
