My view on Madge was always he would be the coach that got rid of all the loafers and built a hardened roster where someone else would come in and recruit players to get them firing. His tactics have a use by date but for me now is not the time.

Madge is basically being done over like Dean Pay.

I hope not. It makes zero sense. Roster is a bottom half of the table squad. Changing coach is the dumbest thing I have heard in years.
I feel it’s a cop out from management and fans that don’t want to admit reality the squad is poor. Some feel changing the coach gives hope I don’t see it that way.

As others and I have said he has assembled 90% of the squad so if it’s a poor squad and he can’t get anything out of players he brought in who’s fault is it .Keeping this coach gives no hope

That’s ridiculous he’s assembled 90% of the squad. He’s trying to unravel it pretty much openly. I’m shocked it’s stayed together this long.

Since Madge has come in we have had Luciano, Blore, Utoikamanu, Harry Grant, Jake Simpkin, DaineLaurie, Ofehengaue, Douihei come in. In the reserves Tuki Simpkins, Tuilagi have also come in.

To varying degrees they are the best players in the team. They are also young and he’s building a team to last.

The one major mistake was Brooks extended after a Dally M season when we had b graders.

BJ, Jet, Tamou, Kepoa have been poor but most low cost.

The false narrative this is the squad Madge wants when Mbye, Packer and others are taking massive money off the cap is so wrong.

The problem is our best talents are young and not seasoned and can’t aim up every week. Our experienced players are loafers.

It sucks but long term rebuild is happening if weak management want to scapegoat and convince fans we are any good they either have no idea or straight out lie to fans.

In your opinion,but he gave Simpkin his debut when everybody said he is far off NRL,he got Laurie here early,he moved AD to 5/8 and bought in Joe O and Stef to strenghthen the team and you say he failed because the results dont suit you...your hate for the man is overwhelming..yet you dont blame player incompetence at all...

He also arranged the innovative swap deal for Harry Grant when we had no hooker. He has tried putting people in reserve grade to set standards.

Madge seems to have made a lot of good moves and he has tried different ways of improving the team. I really don't know what a different coach could have done differently that would have been more successful.

I don't know if Madge is the best coach for the Tigers, but the teams that have long term success have a stable coaching team. We can't just keep blaming the coach and seeing if a different one can change everything by himself.

Penrith leak lots of juniors, they have a very large catchment.

Also Marty Taupau isn't a Tigers junior, nor is JAC. Fifita technically also isn't a Tigers junior as he was picked up to join NYC from Griffith.

Penrith are leading the comp and undefeated, big difference, we are unco and defeated

When we had Cleary as coach we didn't make the 8. He made big gambles with expensive players for short term gain that did not work.
Cleary has inherited the Juniors from the that Gus and Griffin set up. Madge has been investing in young players and has been fixing the juniors system, which takes time to return results.

Not a huge Flanagan fan but probably better option than Madge he has lost the group

I don’t hate him at all, but he’s done a terrible job and he deserves to get the sack. We’re 1-6, you may be happy with that but I find it unacceptable.

find another club like the roosters if it dont suit you here...when the club makes a desicion on Madges future then I will respond to that..not some fan venting because things didnt go his way...

I agree @TrueTiger, if the Tigers losing games is causing depression and feelings of despair, some people might be happier following Rooster or WWE. Demanding people be sacked because you want change without understanding what the problems are is far worse than offering people a less stressful alternative.

I want Madge to stay but at the results are a joke at the same time. Most of the squad is his and we need to click real quick.

There really isn’t any better options if we sack him. Maybe Bennett if he can bring Reynolds with him too.

Madge has done good work with buying the best rookies around and getting them over. Unfortunately it’s the tigers attitude that has got me thinking maybe it’s time for a change.

Morris is known to be good with players (what we need) but barely any experience. Is he the answer or just another coach that will get the flick in 2 years?

Shane Flanagan was also mentioned? Can’t he adapt to the new game? Hopefully learned not to use peptides.

Other options? Cameron ciraldo? He would be a good option but I hate knowing he likes penrith. In saying that why don’t we go for the guy they sacked to get Ivan. He must hate Penrith? He even had Penrith going strong before they sacked him.

Other option would be Toovey? (at least he’s not afraid to say when the refs are wrong) he might make the boys more Agro which would be good.

Bellamy and bennet free next year?? Would be crazy not to make an attempt.

All in all If the tigers board want to get rid of a coach, do it soon! Give us enough time to perhaps salvage this season and prepare for next year!!

If we can’t get anyone great now. Give John Morris the gig for the rest of the year. If he improves our roster and shows great signs then we sign him on. If he doesn’t we at least have some time to go for someone more experienced.

I tend to agree though I acknowledge Madge can't turn this sinking ship around himself and he would greatly benefit from a strong assistant joining the club to take some of the pressure and accountability off.

I've heard on the back of what happened with Seibold at Souffs Madge is paranoid his assistant coaches will white ant him again so he has been very selective with the support team around him however this paranoia could cost him his job at the end of the day if he doesn't trust other people.
If I was Madge I would be sending an SOS out to John Morris, he has nothing to lose.

If Madge does get the chop i doubt i will ever see us make the semis again in my life and it will just be an endless cycle of failure

With Hartigan, his recruiting team and the lower grade coaches and systems, WTs are in a really good position. Maguire's issue is not just the losses, but the manner in which we lost. If the team went down fighting, all of us would be satisfied although disappointed. The issue is more than that and it seems the squad do not believe in his methods.

We saw improvements last week but many of us knew we'd be back to crap again real quick

How long is that game? If we have a group of Luke Brooks in lower grades that don't step up does he get a go with the next batch?

Blood them this year, no doubt. But do it a way that doesn't crush them either. There are some players in the Knock-on cup that could make the grade but they need to be carefully managed through.
