Most people on the forum could see before this game that Walters wasn't up to first-grade standard... why can’t the coach?

He does it all the time too? Ofahengaue in the second-row etc.

Please sack him now.

madge haters comming out of the closet after we lose a game........

really mate

Just my opinion champ.

You have no idea who is available, who is playing injured, what Madge is trying to achieve in the short or long term. Without any of that and a lot more your opinion is worthless.

Walters shouldn’t of been in that side

Our odds of winning with Mbye at 6 were bad. Giving Walters the simple jobs of defending his guts out and getting the ball wide at every opportunity probably sounded like the best option. Walters is experienced at NRL level and Madden does not tackle.
My point was that the people that think they know it all in hindsight and without having the same info that Madge has are kidding themselves. He didn't put Mbye at 6 a few weeks ago because he thought it was a brilliant idea, otherwise he would have done it from the start. Things were not working so he tried something else, sometimes it works and you look like a genius, sometimes you look like a fool.
If he played Cini or Madden and we lost with them playing badly he would still be copping on here and the hindsight geniuses would be asking why he didn't play Walters.

AD 6 garner centre it’s not that hard. Madge makes it hard with his team selections

No to Garner in the centres.

This team has turned the corner so many times they're right back where they started.

I do want to give Madge credit for getting a professional rugby league team to not concede a try despite having an extra man on the field.

So he's definitely done something. Coach of the century kind of stuff.

I reckon the team are now performing to their ability. It's hard to knock the coach when that is the way I see it.

I do think Douiehi should be at 6 and not Mbye. I just think Doueihi is one of our best players and he should get the ball as much as possible. I don't think this is a terrible decision though. Doueihi needs some work on his game and playing him at centre may be good for his development.

Moving AD from centre stops a big part of the current game plan, then you need a new game plan and to train everyone on that. Garner is not a centre. Then Blore starts at 2nd row and he does not seem ready for 80 min. Then you need to remove a middle forward from the bench and debut another 2nd rower.

Not easy at all and very unlikely to change the result.

Correct, we need as few changes as possible to try and achieve some cohesion.

Chopping and changing every week isn't helping anyone. We should only be changing for injury, suspension or **really** bad performances.

It’s probably nothing mate just quick to point out it’s mainly junior development work. I’d be a getting as much help as possible from sheens if I was Madge. Madge has twice as many resources than sheens did here and doing much worse.

Saying we lost today due to Madge is a cop out.

Not saying it was because of him, but his team selection sucked big time, putting us behind the 8 ball before kick off.
His bench use was abysmal, and he has overseen 7 straight losses to Parra, most have been floggings, so he is up to his eyeballs in this loss

Yep. He is completely clueless and just sits there sticking to his regimented game plan while we got blown away.

So many issues that can be laid at the feet of the coach.

Sheens had complete control at the club when he was here. I basically think Sheens is coming as head of Pathways.

I can’t see any improvement at all under Maguire, we could even go 12 seasons no finals

I 100% agree, but be careful around here, you can't bag the coach, he has only had 3 years to fix this club, he needs time remember.
He had over a million to throw at Latrell, so he has had money, just couldn't attract the players, he came to fix our defence, which has gotten worse each year he has been here.
How does he not get sacked, or at the very least put on notice, we have beaten the knights and saints twice, both not great teams who were down on troops, and we beat Penrith minus 8 rep players, we have achieved bugger all this year.
Yesterday was a pivotal moment, we had won 2 in a row, albeit against depleted teams, and we were a chance to beat a good side.
What happened, we were off our game from the start, we should have been down 20 nil after 35 minutes, but Mitch felt sorry for us.
We scored and somehow after 40 minutes, after playing poorly, were still in the game at halftime.
Madge gave them their halftime speech, and they come out of the sheds in a coma, they should have been ready and fired up, but they were just the opposite.
We were well beaten before the injuries and sin binning started, it whilst not unexpected, was still very disappointing, and Madge is still looking to win 3 in a row, something we haven't done since Cleary was here.

I am one who believes in Madge Maguire but not with this roster. I’d actually be interested to see who lined up if he walked or was pushed. That would be one poor schmuck!!
