I don't think probably. We need a player like that. The problem is you just gotta keep doing what we've been doing.

WT are going backwards and something needs to change. Sixteen games in and compared to last season's twenty, thus far in this one the side has regressed 15.5% defensively and 6.7% attack wise.

Nearly five extra points to now be 30 leaked and best part of a couple less scored week on week to 20.

Looking back at 2018/19 seasons and the only team now below our WT that was above them then are the donkeys.

This is exactly the reason Maguire needs to go within weeks ..are things going to improve next season? Do not think so , the graph has only gone one way since he arrived .
There needs some real leadership within the club at this present time and the decision needs to be made ,there is a great opportunity for a coach coming in with many off contract and a huge war chest to entice players .
Next season could be territory that this club has not been before and there will be more than the coach being shown the door if the appropriate course is not set in motion quickly.

Paul Kent has launched a stinging attack on the Tigers players after reports some stars have turned on coach Michael Maguire after a comment he made after the loss to the Rabbitohs.

Maguire said in his press conference that he needs men at the club, which ruffled a few feathers amongst the playing group.

“They lost to the Storm 66-16 on the Sunshine Coast and it was a very similar story to their opening half against the Bunnies at Leichhardt Oval,” James Hooper said on Triple M.

“So the players can point fingers and blow up and blame Madge and try and throw off everywhere else, but in relation to the comment that he said about “I need men” like we are all adults.

“Boo hoo, cry me a river like who cares? Get over it.”

Gordon Tallis believes the Tigers club need to support their coach, so that things like player revolts don’t happen.

“The people around him need to support him,” Tallis said.

“So when the players go and whinge to the assistant coach, to the trainers, to the board members, to the CEO it falls on deaf ears.”

“Managers and media are the main ones,” Hooper interjected.

“Too bad because they keep doing it, so who do they have Tim Sheens, Michael Potter, Jason Taylor, Ivan Cleary. There is four in what 10 years?” Tallis said.

Kent called on Maguire to find the players responsible and move them out of the club immediately.

“The best thing Michael Maguire can do is find out who the players are and move them on,” Kent said.

“A lot of good coaches who stick around for a while they identify very quickly who the cancers are in the joint. The guys who [This word has been automatically removed] and moan.

“When you see players in a dressing room starting to get into their little groups that is when you have got to be wary.

“Once they start doing that and if you don’t know what they are talking about and if they are having a [This word has been automatically removed] and moan about your coaching or whatever they are the guys you have got to move on.”

Tallis called on the senior players to squash player revolts before they happen.

“I think you need strong leadership and the senior guys just go, listen guys shut up this is what we are doing,” Tallis said.

“I didn’t agree with all my coaches, but whatever he said he is the boss. That’s it he is the boss and whatever he tells you to do you do it.

“Just shut up and get on with it and after training you can say hey Mate why did we do that? But you never do it on the spot.”

Kent believes the Tigers don’t have enough players that want to win a premiership and they need to move on those that are merely just happy being NRL players.

“I’ll tell you a couple of facts about the Tigers, one they don’t have good enough players to win the comp,” Kent said.

“Two they don’t have tough enough players to win the comp. Three the administration hasn’t been strong enough in terms of standing up to the players because the club is just continually rotating through coaches.

“They have identified Michael Maguire as a coach who has won premierships at two different competitions with two different teams.

“He has got the ability to do it, so they have identified him as the guy that can do it for them so now they have got to stay the course as well.

“What they have got to the players is get on board or get going. It is as simple as that.

“To continue to let this club [This word has been automatically removed] and moan through another season of non-performance and let’s remember no club has gone longer without making the finals than this Tigers club.

“They haven’t made the finals since 2011 so the fact is they are not doing the right job. I don’t think there is enough Tigers players who want to win a comp.

“I was talking to a coach the other day and he said there is not enough winners here. They are just happy to play first grade.

“This is an issue that has been identified by a few other clubs.

“There is not enough players at the Tigers who are burning to win a comp. They are happy playing first grade.

“They like being known as first grade players who brush pass the line when they go to the nightclub. They get a couple of drinks vouchers when they get into the nightclub and all the pretty girls come up and ask them for a dance.”

“It’s a lifestyle for them,” Tallis said.

It’s interesting because Maguire’s sometimes explosive antics and reputation as a tough, over-the-top taskmaster are often seen as a reason why the Wests Tigers struggle to snare big-name players.

Viewers will get never-before-seen , raw and unfiltered access to the highs and lows of a season that has challenged players , staff, and fans both on and off the field.

All up, Fox League did more than 500 hours of filming . In the first episode, Maguire is seen almost breaking down in the dressing sheds after a 36-22 loss to the Parramatta Eels. “I just want to say what you guys are building is right,” Maguire says. “You had that team on the f…ing rack, ready to be beaten. And they’re a top-four team. “We’re all hurting, I understand that. “But what you’ve got to understand here is that … (long pause)

For all those who think sacking Madge will solve all our problems, must have short memories.
We said the exact same thing when Tim left (stayed too long, had nothing new to offer),Potter left (too nice a guy, not enough experience), Taylor left,(this one ,I agreed with), Cleary left (probably because he read this forum and figured he could never win) and Madge. Madge had won two Grand Finals, would toughen up our boys and we would become a real force.
The only people not being cross examined at present, are the players. Its time to tell the sensitive new age footballers in our team to bugger off.

Of that list I still think Potter was the best. Shame two of our "legends" decided that he had to go.

This is exactly the reason Maguire needs to go within weeks ..are things going to improve next season? Do not think so , the graph has only gone one way since he arrived .

To be fair, the side did again finish ninth in McGuire's first year with our for and against better than in 2018. That said, WT finished that season knowing the Traitor was leaving and would likely have finished better under different circumstances.

Sacking the coach will almost certainly guarantee we get the spoon next year, because what we’ve seen previously is a period of disruption followed by a breakdown in procedures.
We are better off sticking with the plan, our KOE comprised team will be better next year and better the year after. Let’s not panic and tear up the plan.
Perhaps there will be more acceptance of Sheens this time too?

If he is serious about dealing with these players he thinks are throwing him under the bus, drop them. Seriously the season is over, there has to be some still willing to fight for the jersey. This is not a bad roster someone has to take responsibility for what’s being dished up no use sweeping it under the carpet some honesty would not go astray .

They need to make a decision re Madge. If he is not the man he needs to go at the end of the season, not 6 rounds into next year.

I honestly do not expect us to contend next year. There are no marquee players available that will turn our team around.

I think if Madge stays around for next season we will win the spoon. That should put paid to any argument that he is creating something special, and by then the excuses will have likely ran out.

Because they can see the majority of the team simply aren’t putting in consistent effort. People can say it’s the coaching but effort comes from within and this BS that players don’t play for the coach, Players play for their own pride and pride in the jersey

Paul Kent has launched a stinging attack on the Tigers players after reports some stars have turned on coach Michael Maguire after a comment he made after the loss to the Rabbitohs.

Maguire said in his press conference that he needs men at the club, which ruffled a few feathers amongst the playing group.

“They lost to the Storm 66-16 on the Sunshine Coast and it was a very similar story to their opening half against the Bunnies at Leichhardt Oval,” James Hooper said on Triple M.

“So the players can point fingers and blow up and blame Madge and try and throw off everywhere else, but in relation to the comment that he said about “I need men” like we are all adults.

“Boo hoo, cry me a river like who cares? Get over it.”

Gordon Tallis believes the Tigers club need to support their coach, so that things like player revolts don’t happen.

“The people around him need to support him,” Tallis said.

“So when the players go and whinge to the assistant coach, to the trainers, to the board members, to the CEO it falls on deaf ears.”

“Managers and media are the main ones,” Hooper interjected.

“Too bad because they keep doing it, so who do they have Tim Sheens, Michael Potter, Jason Taylor, Ivan Cleary. There is four in what 10 years?” Tallis said.

Kent called on Maguire to find the players responsible and move them out of the club immediately.

“The best thing Michael Maguire can do is find out who the players are and move them on,” Kent said.

“A lot of good coaches who stick around for a while they identify very quickly who the cancers are in the joint. The guys who [This word has been automatically removed] and moan.

“When you see players in a dressing room starting to get into their little groups that is when you have got to be wary.

“Once they start doing that and if you don’t know what they are talking about and if they are having a [This word has been automatically removed] and moan about your coaching or whatever they are the guys you have got to move on.”

Tallis called on the senior players to squash player revolts before they happen.

“I think you need strong leadership and the senior guys just go, listen guys shut up this is what we are doing,” Tallis said.

“I didn’t agree with all my coaches, but whatever he said he is the boss. That’s it he is the boss and whatever he tells you to do you do it.

“Just shut up and get on with it and after training you can say hey Mate why did we do that? But you never do it on the spot.”

Kent believes the Tigers don’t have enough players that want to win a premiership and they need to move on those that are merely just happy being NRL players.

“I’ll tell you a couple of facts about the Tigers, one they don’t have good enough players to win the comp,” Kent said.

“Two they don’t have tough enough players to win the comp. Three the administration hasn’t been strong enough in terms of standing up to the players because the club is just continually rotating through coaches.

“They have identified Michael Maguire as a coach who has won premierships at two different competitions with two different teams.

“He has got the ability to do it, so they have identified him as the guy that can do it for them so now they have got to stay the course as well.

So who are those players then ? I don’t know about you but I burden myself with watching the whole tigers game every week, who is consistently letting the team down ?
